About the original version:
-There’s a fight in a bamboo field too, but as much as I tried, it was impossible to put all in the video xD
-The liquid Hyakkimaru uses to kill Bandai is caustic water, he stores it in his legs
-In the manga this scene is almost the same, except that Dororo gets hurt and Hyakkimaru ask for a house where he can attend his wounds, but the villagers don’t let them stay in the village not only because they’re scared, but also because of Dororo’s bad reputation.
And the typical question: *How can he speak and hear?*
Both Hyakkimaru have a kind of extrasensory perception, what means they perceive information without using the physical senses. For example, the new Hyakkimaru can see without eyes (well, kinda).
In the case of the original one, he doesn't speak, you could say that he talks telepathically and to pretend he actually speaks he just moves his lips. Also, he can't hear but he can sense what the people want to say, and it seems like the new Hyakkimaru can do it too

So how does Hyakkimaru see, hear, and speak in the 1969 version? I thought he was missing those parts.
I heard that in the manga he could hear and speak telepathically, but I am not sure.
In this 2019 remake, the demons Hyakkimaru needs to kill are only 12 whereas in the manga and in the original 1969 anime he needed to kill 46 or 48 demons and by the time he met Dororo he needed to only kill 33 of them so by then he already had those.

Yo jugué un juego con una historia similar en el ps2 hace muchos años, se trataba de un niño al que le quitaron sus extremidades y creo que hasta órganos (no recuerdo bien) el primer jefe te daba la vista, antes de eso veías todo en blanco y negro si se basa en este anime ya puedo buscarlo nuevamente, me interesaba pasarlo y saber la historia
Literally they are both great! I haven’t seen the rest of this episode from the og, but being chased up into a bell tower for a final confrontation is pretty epic! The new one adds little detail that spice it up, and I think that respects the original

I like that there are both sides to how it goes after the battle. The 1969 version has Hyakkimaru regaining his leg but is called a monster for it by a frightened crowd and told to leave, and the 2019 version has a citizen confessing to the sacrifice of its villagers to the monster while traumatized by the bell of the first traveler. But commonly on both sides has Dororo calling them out for what they said or do.

This version of the main is slightly more accurate, I’d think, even with a sixth sense and such...whether they’ll keep with this, or give the main a chance to leaps and bound this thing, it remains to be seen, but reading the manga I think I like this new direction better.

Voy a dar mi comentario en español (no sé si el único) pero es lo siguiente:
-1969: En esta versión vemos que los aldeanos ayudan a Hyakkimaru a vencer a Bandai luego de eso el recupera su pierna y al verlo los aldeanos lo concideran un monstruo ni le agradecen ni nada por derrotar a Bandai (que hijos de fruta :"v)
2019:Aquí los aldeanos no querían a Bandai pero agarraban las riquezas de los viajeros y por eso la ayudaban, a las finales Hyakkimaru lo derrota solo, también no vemos a los aldeanos para matar a Bandai solo al jefe o como sea la cosa pero quería eliminar el alma del primer viajero de la campana y Hyakkimaru recupera otra parte del cuerpo.
*Conclusiones* :
-Sentí qué la versión del 1969 es un poco más violenta y triste por lo de los aldeanos hijos de su fruta madre que toman a Hyakkimaru como un monstruo y la realidad un es chico que se alegra y lo demuestra por tener una pierna de verdad.
-Pero del 2019 muestra a Hyakkimaru como un muñeco casi sin sentimiento que no habla sólo demuestra sus expresiones mediante reacciones.
Hana To Hoshiッ Creo que el personaje que más modificaciones ha sufrido, apariencia (todo musculoso en la versión viejs, me quedé pensando si era mujer u hombre en la nueva versión) y emocional es Hyakimaru. Y responde más a nuestra preferencia actual por los personajes taciturnos, deprimidos, misteriosos que se alejan de lo que considerabamos antes el arquetipo del héroe. En apariencia puede parecer ligeramente diferente, pero al menos para mi, aunque no alcanza a modificar la historia si le da un giro que cambia el enfoque. Siento y lamento no poder verificarlo que disfrutaría más con el Hyakimaru antiguo, el del 69, más humano, menos "muñeca" y que se acerca mucho más a la visión que el maestro Tezuka quiso darle a sus personajes. Quizás el no escribiera novelas, pero en un par de viñetas desarrollaba personajes como los escritores que le dedican páginas y páginas a sus personajes. No sé, es la idea que me hago, algo rebuscada lo admito, pero no me quito de la cabeza el estar viendo dos Hyakimaru diferentes, la esencia está ahí, pero me cuesta encontrarla.

@@linalie8359 me gusta mas el hyakkimaru (y dororo) de la version vieja, si hyakkimaru no hubiera escuchado o hablado es probablemente que hubiera muerto debido a que en japon eran tiempos dificiles y el hecho de que hablara se podía notar mejor ciertas emociones que quería expresar, a mi ambas versiones me parecen buenas, no veo a ninguna superior a otra solo que ambas tienen diferente estilo, la version vieja es mas triste, se ve mas gente muriendo de hambre o pasando una desgracia que en la nueva.
In ep 4 of Dororo's 2019, Dororo calls Hyakkimaru bro after he's been freed from the curse. Nice reference. I bet there are a lot of homages to the original if you watched it but I don't have the time.
It's more than homages. It follows a lot the original manga, while taking things from other versions and adding a lot of their own stuff. Still, it takes a lit from the original.

How do you find that more interesting? He can talk to people, see, and do everything a human can already so him getting is parts doesn't affect him in the slightest of ways unlike in the new one when he got his parts, it affected him in everyway which should be the case seeing that he had no limbs or sense.

昔の映画はみんなこんな感じだよ。女性の声もみんな低い。
旧版は百鬼丸をハンサムなヒーローに見せるために青年の設定にしたんだと思うよ。
その時代の流行りによって百鬼丸の設定は少しずつ変わってるし、どの時代の百鬼丸もカッコいいと思うよ。ちなみに旧版の声優は野沢那智さんだよ

En la antigua ya había 15 de los 48 demos antes de encontrar a Dororo, y se comunicaba con telepatía.
La antigua es mas fiel al manga, en el manga Hyakkimaru habla desde el comienzo

Original hyakkimaru looks like a badass samurai. The new hyakki looks like Vincent valentine. That look works for maybe vampire hunter d but not here. The remake is a slap in the face. If original hyakki was animated this well it could have been something special. But it's just good. With bad character art
