I prefer the new version, but wish they included Tanotsuke killing himself with Nihiru, it has more symbolism and shows how loyal he actually was to his sword, to the point of even killing himself to get it blood. The things I like about the new version is that Hyakkimaru got his ears back instead of an eye, how the first thing he hears is the rain and the girl's cries. Also how they made Tanosukes sister less annoying/not annoying, I don't really like her in the old version, mainly because of the part she calls them murderers and to get away, in the new version she actually seems to know her brother's wrongdoings and just grieves over his death, without blaming Hyakkimaru, since, in the end, it needed to be done, if not who knows how many other innocent people he could have killed.

I'd say that the old version is more realisic with the sister's feelings. Let's be honest, that's how you'd act if someone that is very closed to you is killed, even if you know that they weren't good people. We see it all the time with moms crying and cursing everyone when their kids are killed, even if they were robers, rapist or murderers. Of course, that doesn't mean that either in fiction or real life, this is not annoying. From our point of view, they were bad people, and they just reap what they sow.

Oh man, I hope they'll keep some of the original Hyakkimaru's feeling at getting his eyesight back. I liked both versions a lot. It kinda made me want to watch the old anime, where can I find it? In the old version, the first thing Hyakki sees is Dororo, a pretty, heartwarming sight. In the new one, he gets his ears and as per usual in the new series, his first experience with his new sense is horrible (the cries of the girl whose brother he had no choice but to kill). Btw it's interesting Dororo blushes when she gets told she's cute, a bit like the new Dororo (though the new one is the kind of tsundere "baka!" reaction).

Oh man, I hope they'll keep some of the original Hyakkimaru's feeling at getting his eyesight back.
