The Remake makes it practically look now, how playing OoT felt like to us as kids back in the 90s.
100%
I roamed around for Hours just in awe.
So true
Absolutely wrong lol I played in 2002 and it's still the same. You nostalgia tards are high
Is it a rule for these fan projects to always have way too many particle effects and insanely overdone lighting and saturation?
Pretty much....
y e s
Standard Nintendo fan graphics opinion
100% agree with you bro
Cry
3:47 This looks like a horror game now. Never realized Zelda OOT was so scary
me too... i feel resident evil vibe
I just loved it. Did you notice how the artist really reinforces the feelings that each remade scenery attempts to transmit to us?
The war that is mentioned in the game at some points (shieka slabs) was a cruel one and the shadow temple was basically a camp to torture enemies of the shieka (hyrule royality secret agency)
For a fan work, it's incredibly well done, I've seen some people say the artstyle is totally wrong but Ocarina of Time was never brightly colored or cartoonish like Skyward Sword or Breath of the Wild, in my opinion it went the right way in artistic style.
My only gripe with it is that link's face looks a bit weird to me and the hair is overly shiny, but otherwise I can't admire it enough...
Right - I don't know if I would try to compare it to the more recent zeldas. But comparing it against itself, against the game it is remaking, it is clear it takes some artistic liberties. To each their own. It is incredible looking and I would love to try it one day.
Is too realistic for me 😂 I’m so accustomed to The Legend of Zelda games to be cartoonish ❤
But it’s too colorful precisely
It's not bad, it just doesn't have an artistic identity at all, it's a collage of things. For me a real remake of OOT would be to make it as close as possible to the concept arts, not to make it more "4K 60FPS Raytracing".

That water in the remake is moving at like 400 miles per hour. 😂
Ikr, it got me a bit dizzy
powódź w wyższych partiach gór, woda spływała szybciej, koryto poszerzone XD
I really appreciate the effort here BUT I prefer the original way more.
The remake lacks a proper art direction. Artstyle looks a bit off here.
At first I was skeptical, I'm pretty solidly grounded in my favorite N64 games retaining that nostalgic value through their 'old style charm,' but a lot of these redone scenes still held the classic OoT vibe/atmopshere, or even enhanced on it. Castle Town and Kakariko specifically were spectular, great job!
Looks gorgeous. Now I want a remake.
Nintendo: so you are not satisfied with our online n64 emulator version?
on 3ds
@@portangente013 Yep, but thats a console no longer being produced anymore, it'd be nice to get one on Switch
Hopefully with Switch 2 we can play Ocarina of Time and…what’s the name of 神々のトライフォース2 in English? Triforce of the Gods 2, is it right?
every time i have seen this project over the years, i have just never liked how it look visually.. i have no idea what it is about it, it's just so bright, too saturated and so much bloom, and it feels like weirdly uncanny in some ways. i think some area's look fairly nice, mainly the darker ones, i think it fits the tone better overall anyways. but i will say, overall the project is so incredible and amazing otherwise
It reminds me of when you install 50 different lighting mods and some extreme shaders in Skyrim so that there's way too many particle effects and light sources in every area.
I would pay big money to be able to play the remake. It's breath-taking!
You can. I don't know if he sells it or it's free, but it is downloadable and playable
@@dkthebeast92 It's completely free on his discord and patreon
Too damn saturated though, like Disney World
I think it's actually fugly tbh.
If it comes to SERIES X yes I would pay
Real question though.. why can’t you just make a 1:1 Recreation but with Just “realistic” enough visuals ? Like DONT ADD ANYTHING EXTRA
is a really good job. But in the end you can notice that the art style is not that cohesive. Sometimes lokes like cartoon like, other like realistic, and also you can spot somewhere in between
well yea but oot was kinda like that too. having the cartoonish octorok in the same game as a redead doesn’t really fit right either
7:10 THAT was what I've been waiting for. That market in full 3D, UE glory. My god it looks absolutely amazing 👏
Stunning!!
Yo have it in 3ds remastered anyway
@@deca48 looking like this?
Technically impressive, but souless generic UE look. Has less character and less impact than the original. Art direction > realistic graphics.
@@ArielCastellanosCEOariel
Rivers flow a little too quickly and are more chaotic than they should be at the both the speed they are in the video and the speed they should be, and the rolling boulder at the kokiri sword could use some polish on the animation when turning corners. Other than those two details everything is immaculate.
While it does look amazing, there's just something off about it. There's some animation (especially character animation) that really need tweaking. I know it's to showcase the visuals, but some spots and cut scenes are TOO exaggerated. The lighting in many spots don't seem to give off a natural feel, maybe too much particles, bloom, and saturation is the issue. That issue might contribute to why the remake looks a bit too vibrant and don't properly capture the tone that the original game was going for. Other than that, for what it is and the fact that an actual studio isn't behind this project, it's amazing!
Well, it's certainly neat and I applaud the effort put into this "remake", but... I wouldn't wanna play it. Something about it feels... lacking. I've barely started Ocarina of Time myself, but isn't the point about the big tree is that it's dying? Why is the lighting and scenery so bright and pretty? The remake is lacking in character despite the visuals.
The problem with all those UE remakes is, that they never capture the look and feel of the original game. They all have this "Engine demo" look instead.
It has no life or creativity of its own. It's the same exact game with a better coat of paint. It doesn't strive to do anything unique or different, the artstyle clashes heavily at times and never seems to blend together well, the world design doesn't feel organic, and there's a clear lack of polish
Yeah the remake looks "overdone" but I think that was kind of the point. To push things as far as possible. If they were actually planning to release it to the public as a playable game it would probably look more visually balanced. It ONLY exists to say "imagine if we pushed the graphics to 11".
I wish Nintendo would release a powerful console again that could actually give us amazing gameplay with amazing graphics.
Yeah the problem was the format they delivered the last 2 powerful machines being the N64 and the Gamecube both beasts in terms of graphics at their time but lacked the vision of using cds instead of cartridge and mini cd. They had to swap the idology cuz that didnt work and they had to make $$
I mean, lets be real with the switch here. A lot of greasy, sticky handed toddlers and children with little respect for property are carrying these things around. If they went more a steam-deck path, how many of their sales would be lost because parent's aren't wanting to spend $600 on a fancy tablet?
It would be cool if they had the option but then again, Nintendo focuses on consistency and quality to a large degree. As soon as you add any major hardware variations, it's like developers now have to work on optimizing their games for even MORE platforms.
I think the only time really stunning graphics are gonna be on the current Nintendo platform is whenever they (if they do) go back to home TV consoles only or purely by the work of artists and developers. Even then, the bleeding edge realism is always going to be on expensive PC hardware, Nintendo is not going to look horrible by any means but it's doubtful they'll ever catch up.
@@Artanis667 would be cool to see a Series X / Series S variant of Nintendo consoles perhaps. I'd gladly pay for a nintendo console that could give me awesome gameplay with awesome graphics.
I'm 42 now, grew up with Nintendo, but I find their consoles to be largely boring unfortunately.
@@Chaos744_ or least make them as powerful as ps4 that would be great
It looks good but a little to shiny compared to the original. Sometimes the lighting are too blury or too dark to see the enemies and the items.
Ironically, I appreciate even more how good the old game looked. That sunset over hyrule field is amazing
Honestly no matter how much better games look with each generation, I dont think anything can compare to the technological leap Ocarina Of Time did for it's time.
@@wizzrob3yeah
It looks obviously better, but still feels the same. Its another Spyro Reignited Trilogy/ Metroid Prime Remastered situation and it goes to show that the emotions a game triggers in you isn't dependend on the graphics, its the aesthetic.
seein' a 2d environment fully realised in 3d is one
of the best things about it
The original is 3d too. Just less details
@@t_tmad5293 i think they're talking about the castle town
bro they managed to make the hands mini boss somehow more horrifying 😭3:40
It's funny because most of these scenes, the "remake" looks exactly how my memory of the first playthrough back when it was new looks 😂
Except how fanmade things ALWAYS have way too many particles. Cheapens the experience imo
Everything imma say, i say with respect. This must have taken so much time and energy and skill and learning . I'm incredibly impressed and honestly would love a fraction of the creators dedication. That said, in my humble opinion this fan version lacks any sort of cohesive art direction. Some monsters look like they are from a horror game, the deku tree looks like it's from a lighting and rendering /vray demo, the church from a photo real architecture mag, the list goes on. I think this feels like a "ocarina of time but with hyper real graphics" or, "ocarina of time developed in ue5" vs capturing the art style and direction of the og game.
Im still gobsmacked by the level of detail and level of thoroughness. And it is cool to see ocarina of time reimagined in dif art styles. Well done!!!
You missed a tree
I no joke would pay $200 at least for a full playable game for ps5 or switch if the graphics could be good enough
1. Link parece Chucky el muñeco diabólico.
My only criticism is the indirect lighting isn't great which is why they seemingly add (too many of) their own light sources which completely changes some of the scenes, not necessarily for the best imo
Thinking the same... 😢
Why would you place Triforce symbols where they weren't originally? I think the developers knew where they wanted them 😂
Temple of Time in the remake makes me feel like Ornstein and Smough are about to dash around a pillar and stomp me.
very beautifully done remake, Nintendo should release this version. I know a lot of folks that would call this a remaster which is incorrect this is a straight up Beautiful Remake that should be released.
All fan remakes fall in the same mistake: the need to demonstrate all the possible resources that the engine provides in the same environment, makes the game visually polluted. Some environments have so much bloom, vegetation and particles that it is difficult to find your way around them.
If we got a remake like this I would buy it immediately. This is magnificent 👍
The 3DS remake is all that this game need. All fan work makes it look generic.
Infelizmente, a água ainda corre muito rápido e o fogo queima muito rápido. Deveriam suavizar mais os elementos desse Remake.
Bring down tha saturation in kakariko village and darken the light a little in the lost woods. Im not saying its bad at all. Beautiful art style. Love your work.
This is just how i saw it playing as a kid. This is how it felt walking trough hyrule field
Technically it looks great. But something feels off, like the GTA trilogy re-release...
There are some things that can never be taken away from the original but I feel that you've only added life to it, good job!
yeah i grew up with original i still like it more
Would love an OoT remake for Switch 2.
Same here
or for the existing console. i mean BOTW & TOTK graphics work perfectly fine then these will as well.
And majora's mask too. They both should get HD 4K versions.
I still prefer how the 3ds looks. It really gave the game much more life and made it look like how it was meant to be but couldn't because of the limitations of the Nintendo 64. For me, this remake just looks a tad bit over the top in some places.
Incredibly beautiful! Some people are complaining about the lighting but I think it’a gorgeous!
Not everyone can have good taste
1. The grass/ground in Hyrule field looks too weird together
2. The lightning in Hyrule field makes Link look like a claydoll outdoors
3. Links face is way too androgynous and cringe
My 3 cents. Other than that, it looks dope.

Water effects not good. Lon Lon Ranch is the only remake amazing. Try to keep The original concept Will be great
This is my favorite Zelda game.
It's everyone's favorite
This is absolutely incredible. Definitely the best I've seen. Nice work!
It’s not incredible
@@Korbloxiangames then what is it then!, considering this is done by a few people for free with no budget, its clearly incredible that fan games by nintendont still exist is more then amazing to me.

@@SniffinYaMum this was made by many people. I am currently making a game by myself. Please come back to this comment in 2 or 3 years.
Even it doesn't look really bad, the game lacks artistic direction. It lacks consistency, and many times the lighting, effects, or models are contradictory to each other.
This is very well done but MAN do these models/character designs not work in this hyper realistic style. At least as they are translated here.
The funny part about this is even if Nintendo decided to do a remake like this one it wouldn't even run on their weak consoles
The older just simple, that's why it's beautiful. Adding million colors and details make it more distracting, losses it's peaceful atmosphere.
Grass in Hyrule field looks horrible
This "remake" looks souless, dont feel like a Zelda game at all, thank you Nintendo for not using UE on ur games.
just play ship of harkinian this looks like garbage I don't know why this aesthetic appeals to people in any way
I'm gonna say it, while definitely impressive, it looks cheap and tacky.
So you just blew out the lighting in every scene to cover up for the detail you're not actually adding? Nintendo didn't hire this man, Bethesda did.
Not to rag on this. It looks great, but this project or "Zelda in this engine project" has been going on for literal years. Will it ever go beyond mere showcases or proof of concepts? Can we download and play this fully 100% is what I am asking?
I like the old one more, it's more mysterious...
3:50
I was just getting over the nightmares that thing brought me
I like the original engine. Zelda is not supposed to be realistic. There is a charm that the cartoony version has that the Unreal engine doesn't. I'm not saying that the Unreal engine is bad at all though.
waaaay too much stuff happening. the original is unarguably better.
I mean, you should really compare it to the 3DS version cause that’s the definitive version where we can see what Nintendo updated in comparison to the N64 original.
Especially textures, particle effects, lighting, etc.
But, most people still prefer Nintendo 64 version
@@mahendrap1960
Have you run a representative survey on that?
Because if not, then that’s your personal opinion.
You can read articles without end on how the 3DS version is the definitive version.
The only reason it isn’t played as much as the original is that you can only play the 3DS version by actually owning a 3DS or by emulating whereas the original is available on Switch. The lack if availability is the only reason if more people play the original over the 3DS one.
@@Lock2002ful I did played 3DS version of OOT and Majora mask, because 3DS has clean texture where it's very easy to read compare to n64 texture, but I have seen lots of Zelda fans from online always says they prefer N64 because, final boss of OOT in 3ds wasn't dark as N64 version, I can't handle n64 version because this game is fully outdated where texture and polygon is very lowest quality compare to today's gaming , majora mask 3DS version totally messed where you have use magic to swim faster where N64 version or it doesn't require magic power and for some reason boss has weird eye ball weak spot where boss is very easy compare to n64 where you have apply mods to fix them to give better experience.
I don't care what anyone says, Zelda in unreal engine looks awful.
Whoever finished this awesome remake you are awesome and should be a professor Teaching this in colleges , just amazing work 🏆🏆🏆👍
Damn the mechanics are a mess
BEST GAME OF ALL TIME ❤😍🥰
I love this i want to play it 😊
the problem with the remake is is that its to bright and light, the game is supposed to be dark thats why i love oot and mm so much
I really do want Nintendo put this much effort and passion for any remake. I don't want just a HD/remake/deluxe slapped on title just because they up the pixels.
_El Baito_
Link have an Nintendo 64 inside your home 😅😅😅
The grass shouldnot be bending in a circle it should also bend in a smaller area, they need to upgrade that so only the area of the feet which be smaller circles that match the diameter of the feet, so its realistic that way. And i will really like this game to add the Rabbit mask, and also add new items, and for the swords and shields to break, and having more different arrows with different powers, like violet colored arrow to create smoke effects and freeze enemies, and the enemies should be more resistant and more difficult, the game was easy back in the n64.
I don’t think this remake can even Run on ps5/xboxsx
Early versions of the game ran fine on a third-gen i5, but I don't know how it is today.
Am I the only one who thinks Cryzenx's work looks awful?
no you arent wrong, something about this remake looks really flat and bland. theres no variety in landscape and detail. it just looks like the original n64 maps with rtx on. all the villages and alike look much better than the n64 version tho
Great game a true work of art. How nostalgic I felt that I was 11 years old again.🥺❤️🩹✨️❤️
Looks terrible.
The marketing dont need to be so colorful
Too much contrast in every scene. The shadows are too dark and the lights too bright. Makes for a really jarring visual experience when trying to play the actual game
The actual files i downloaded to play this remake are not nearly as detailed and have a ton of bugs. You can play them too if you become a patreon member of his work. If you ask me he needs to spend less time focusing on the showcasing and more time focusing on completing the game.
wtf the grass haha
