Hey, thanks for checking out my not-quite-one-year thoughts on the S22 Ultra. I'd love to hear how you've been getting on with Sammy's big beast, and check back soon for S23 shenanigans! (Oh, and please ignore those Telegram spambots in the comments!)

If S22 Ultra is only £100 more that Pixel 7 Pro - which would you have?
Bizarre timing of your video, have Pixel 7 Pro on back order but thinking of cancelling and going for S22 Ultra. Camera important but stylus useful but could buy a 3rd party stylus for Pixel 7 Pro.

@@cpaps8500 My phone drains like crazy in standby, it's to the point were my old Galaxy S8 with slightly more than half the battery size performes just as well, in addition most apps and the home screen buttons lagg to the point my Galaxy S8 feels smother with a 60hz display, and if I charge it to 85% in the morning, by the time I get home from school with maybe 1h of SOT I've got like 15%, so I have to charge it up again if I wanna keep using the rest of the night.

I recently upgraded from my S8 to the S22U so I am experiencing a massive improvement. I don't game or watch movies on my phone but as I get older and my eyesight worsens I do like the bigger crisper screen without having to zoom in to read things. I am also really getting to like using the S pen. I didn't buy it for that but I appreciate its accuracy compared to using my massive fingers! Yes there are other cheaper phones out there but I really like the design and already being a Samsung user like the ease of migrating to a new phone. Regarding the looks, I think most people spending that much money on a phone will also invest in a protective case which sort of masks the actual phone design. I expect to use a phone for at least 3-5 years before even considering a replacement so looking forward to the s30 ultra ultimate plus super duper phone brick. 😂

Been using the S22U since last April. Only picked it up because Samsung was giving me a good trade in value for my S20 plus. I went for the green S22U and so far no major complaints, the battery seems fine for me even when I up the display resolution and refresh rate.
Charging rate could be quicker for the price but it wasn't a deal breaker for me. The camera is great too, although I feel like I'm not able to get good looking shots as I see other people take. Could be something in settings.
Overall I'm happy with this phone, I'll most likely keep it for a minimum of 2 years. Unless the S23U is a big step up from the S22U.

I also got a iPhone and google pixel Xl 2016 first pixel that came out. Personally don’t recommend the pixels at all. Hardware is weak compared to Samsung and iPhone and Motorola etc. my first gen Xl broke two phones in a row with the screen easily even with a otter box case which is insane. A member of the household their pixel 6 got green lines on the screen a few months later doubt that’s would happen to a Samsung that likely unless you crack the screen.

So in different circumstances price-wise: here where I live the Samsung s22 ultra goes for around $1000, the Pixel 7 Pro for $999, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max for $1799, the Zenphone 9 goes for $899 and the chineese blowers isn't avaible. Provided this would you agree that the Samsung would be the best smartphone in 2022?

Sold my Oneplus 9 Pro and bought an S22 Ultra (Exynos) 256GB on a Black Friday deal for 990 euros.
I was unsure about the Exynos due to issues reported when the device was launched but after seeing the improvements after many updates (thanks to @AndroidAddicts tests) I decided to buy it.

I got an s22 ultra summer of 2022. I cracked the screen october of 2022. I just got it fixed finally 2 weeks ago (multiple huge huge life changes between then and now) and it might as well be an s23 ultra as far as I am concerned. To be fair they replaced the frame, battery, screen and several sensors, just my motherboard and cameras and back glass got swapped, but still. This phone will still be one of the better phones to buy in 5 years, I think. My backup phone is a note 10 plus and it still works fantastically too, and worry every penny today.

I only watched the first two minutes then stopped. I can already tell that he's just doing this to bash the device. Here's an example why. He thumbed down the design when in reality, that is one of the main selling points of the S22 Ultra that users LOVE. That would be like saying the iMessage on the iPhone is no good. This guy should not waste his time with the S22 Ultra. I can already tell that he will have a negative review of the S23 Ultra when it comes out.
