I really like the thought of this kind of a last man standing event. Like that one guy mentioned us slow guys don't get to rest much at all in a regular Backyard Ultra style event, so this kind of levels the playing field a little. I've only done a single Backyard style event which was capped to 8 laps, I was among the last to come in every lap, but I finished all of the laps. It was an eye opener and confidence booster to see that a lot of the fitter, faster, better trained guys threw in the towel ahead of me. It made me think I am stronger mentally then I give myself credit for.
such an interesting & fun race! in 2020, i did the 1x1x24 challenge & when i finished, i was pretty exhausted. can't imagine running a mile every 15 minutes! well done
This is a really great idea. I should set one of these up at my old high school for a fundraiser. I'm an ultramarathon runner so I think I might be able to pull it off.
Thank you for posting this video. Don’t know why but I found this truly inspirational. Please continue with these great running videos. I’m starting to use your videos for my runs. Don’t know if I will ever get to where these runners are at due to my age and body type but I will continue to try. Thanks again for this video👍
Thanks for posting this video. I remember some Twitter posts while it was going on, fun to see the video. I'm hoping to get in a last one standing race this year, looks like a fun challenge
This looks like an absolute blast, I'd LOVE to try this... the atmosphere, outfits, and emphasis on stubbornness as opposed to speed... except... is that a PAVED loop? Definitely not doing it on pavement! 😆
Jamil, maybe I could be one of your 25-30 participants next year. I’ll have to see how the Nordic ski season begins and of its another lousy one, I’ll keep to running onto the winter months.
Yeah, you can walk if you'd like but that means you'd literally have to keep walking with no breaks. If I were to run it, I'd want at least a couple minutes to stop moving the legs.
That guy seemed really rude and aggressive to me, perhaps a cultural thing? If someone was explaining something like that in my country others would ask 'what's his problem?'
I know this is an old post but I'm training for a similar last man standing event in Georgia. My preference is to alternate 1 minute of jogging and 1 minute of walking. This puts me at about a 12 minute mile which gives me 3 minutes to eat, drink, use the restroom, and rest.
Im always jealous of people who can run ultras. I have a skin condition that causes my hands and feet to never form calluses, so my feet are usually destroyed after 20 miles max.

Hell yeah dude
They also could be cheaters and look cool but have a weak heart . It’s an easy sign to see

What an intense event! Congrats to everyone who participated!
I think it is more challenging, as it leaves much less time to nap, eat, drop a deuce and so on.
Seriously such a fun time. Definitely planning on round 2 next year if I ever recover 🤣
It is amazing how much content you guys have been putting out of late! 🤯
Yes! Love all the new content.
Legend FTW!!! 😤😤😤😤😤
Coming across a YT short about David Goggin’s ultramarathon story got me here! 🤫
I would love to try and compete in something like this, looks like such a blast.
This is so cool! Congrats to all the runners!
Legend at it again...
Amazing! Cool race format, and amazing distances from all. Great video!
That looks fun!
That was awesome. Goals for the future for sure
jeff looks better after running 115 miles for hours on end than I do after running 10 miles
That’s pretty cool!

So fun! I live in N. AZ and am just starting to get into running. This would be a great goal to work up to!

Some paved, some on gravel (decomposed granite).
Yeah it’s part paved and part dirt.
wow cool concept, its funny knowing God gave us these incredible engines for survival but now we just dig deep for racing :D
Amazing
I would like to join next year, thank you for all your videos they are helpful...
Awesome! Jeff is trail name “Legend” right? Lives up to his name in everything he does
Yup!

Love it.
Hmmm. Hmm indeed. Let's see how I do at Backyard Oh next month... Hold my beer!
Would love to take part in this
1 mile = 1,6 km. 15 minutes for 1,6 km means 9,4 min/km pace. That means walking.
Yes you can walk it.

@@brassholio oh, I don’t notice that (im from the US) I think he was yelling because the music was pretty loud. Hard not to sound aggressive.
@@brassholio cultural. It's just high school sport coach energy
Great video. I wonder what a doctor would say about running this way.
What's up with the tiger costume? " year of the tiger" ??
I’m sure other people mentioned it but this is actually exactly the premise of Stephen king’s the long walk (under the name Richard Bachman)
I’m confused by what’s in your parenthasis. Rick Riordan is a writer himself - not Stephen King’s pseudonym
@@danielmorgan1108 I haven’t seen the book in forever and went off what I vaguely remembered it shohld be correct now thank you
Hello how would someone go about signing up?
Check out the Across The Years race on Ultrasignup. Registration opens soon for next year!
Meanwhile Kipchoge who could do a 2:01:39 marathon at 4:28 mule pace be like
"just as a training run..." lol.
I run sometimes in my living room (no treadmill) and this a challenge I see myself doing. I just don't think I will be the last person standing
What kind of pace are you guys running?!
Faster than 15 minute miles which is pretty slow
@@emilnelson1890 no shit, really?
@@emilnelson1890 pretty slow for 1 mile. Pretty tough after 50 of them with very little rest

Get that mole skin and figure out where it starts . Lotion is good too and superglue in emergencies
I DESPISE running, so this is just madness to me
I'm a marathoner and feel the same way.
