Nice work my friend!! I appreciate that you used the proper technique for grinding welds, and made sure your left hand had a good grip on your beer!! 🍺
Really cool video series. I found your channel whilst searching Sweptline stuff and saw "...how I lowered the front of my straight axle 62.." in a FB post. The world needs peace, love, and more Sweptline videos. Thank you!
Nicely done. Making sure I’m on the same page- it’s as simple as cut the original spring perches off, flip them, set pinion angle, and reuse all the same hardware just upside down essentially?
Oh ill add that you need to find a solution to the shock mounting . I used a very short shock and welded on new mount to the axle. Used original frame upper mounts. That video 9s on my page as well.
Would love to see how you plan on lowering the front to match. I've been trying to deal with this on my D200, which I'm going though and making more of a race style truck.
Good day sir…..question. I just purchased a ‘71 d100, and would like to do the same thing. I’m mechanically inclined, but never done something like this. My question is, when setting the pinion angle, should the truck be sitting with weight on it, as it would be driven down the road? Or does it matter? Thanks for your time.
This has been a favorite video. Id love to hear more about what everyone wants to see. as always please comment and let me know. thanks
I just picked up a 67 D200 and thinking about lowering it... this video has me sold on lowering it now! Looks great 👍
Awesome. Let me know how your project goes.

Thank you glad you enjoyed.
Realllyyy nice 👍🏼
The 4 headlight year models with that grille are the best / meanest looking Sweptlines. 👌
Agreed. Although I didn't always think that. Guess my tastes have changed over the years.
@ROADBEERGARAGE Same. Sorry to 76 owners, but those are the worst grille and headlight combination for the Sweptline run.
Correction *67
Yeah I was wondering but just rolled with it
@ROADBEERGARAGE Actually I guess that would be 66 & 67. Love the truck. Those grilles and headlights in 66 and 67 just never grew on me.

Basically what I did . Yes absolutely

Bendix taught you that!

Its already lowered. I have a video on here showing how I repacked the springs.

I suggest as close to loaded weight on ground as possible. The way it will sit while being driven is best
Looks awesome!! Did you have to change the shock mount location because you lowered it 5"?
No just shorter shock
Ok thanks for the reply!!
