    At the 6:17 mark you are hammering free the lower control arm ball joint. It is easy to see the lower control arm at the ball joint end moving a lot with each hammer blow while the bushing end of the LCA is staying firm. I would think there is a lot to be gained performance wise by plating the bottom side of the LCA.

    Driver's side is (probably) lower because it has the springs get pummeled over time with weight of the driver, fuel tank, battery, master cylinder, booster...all that stuff adds up! The antennae is on the passenger side though, trying hard to even out the weight.

    Great video sir!! I have had all my parts already lined up for quite awhile. Just need to get it done. Also the early 2000's vans still have the same control arms, and if you come across any Chrysler C body car rear ends they are the same width as the truck, and spring width. Plus they mount on top of the springs. But with modern times parts availability it makes more sense to build the flip brackets.

    When you said, have a couple engines in the back and torch the front lmao. I picked up my d150 warlock like 5 years ago and that’s exactly what it was, except the engines were rims and tires. And the front end was torched. So many coils gone that the front end would bottom out. Terrible feeling

      Haha I can’t believe people did that, but I know there weren’t a ton of options back then. I’ve personally cut coils before haha. Never heated them tho

    I understand the difference in ride height due to the Dodge 'lean'. I don't understand why the passenger side dropped 2 1/2" but the driver side only dropped 2 1/8". Did the measurements change after you drove the truck (maybe springs settling) or could the spring pockets in the VCA's have been deeper in one arm than in the other (doesn't seem likely)?

    • @moparmuscle123

      They come from the 70’s to early 90’s full size vans. You can get them used for $20-$40 or new for $80-$150 usually

    I can't find the lower control arm bolts anywhere! Do u have the part # or know where I can get the 3/4 LCA bolts and nuts like you have in your vid??

    • @moparmuscle123
      @moparmuscle123  4 месяца назад

      I just used grade 8 bolts from the local hardware store. You can also get sleeves made up at machine shop that press into the control arm bushing.

    I'm looking to buy a 2wd dodge truck. 1987 D250. How wide is the trucks outer tire track width? My trailer is only 77.5 inchs wide. Do you think it will fit on my trailer. The guy who is selling it keeps giving me the wheel base.

      I don’t have the part numbers handy, but the lower control arms are off of a B-series dodge van from 72-93 (possibly newer?) I believe will work.

      Just the d100 ball joints. They have a smaller taper on them.

    Hi, finally got around to lowering front and back on my d100. How was your alignment after? I am having trouble finding a shop that will touch it now.

    • @moparmuscle123
      @moparmuscle123  Год назад +1

      You may have a problem getting the camber into spec with the factory control arms. Everything else should align without issue.
      That’s unfortunate they shops won’t touch it. Hopefully you can find a shop to help you out

      @@moparmuscle123 put about 150kms on it on the weekend and it didn’t even wear the nibs off of the new tires so it seems ok. Found a shop that will do an alignment so it goes in next week. Thank you for the reply.
