Nice quick(er) release system for the wings. They should be using hex rather than Philips head screws though. Slowly but surely we're heading towards getting a decent size plane featuring a genuine quick release wing mechanism, i.e. latches so to finally do away with screws altogether.
Would love to see them put brass screw threads in the plastic also. I feel like jus screwing into plastic will strip out if you have to always take the wings off. New Commander is the same way.
@@viciouschloe Yep, that'd certainly be an improvement over plastic screw threads. Still, I'm hoping to one day see a latching mechanism so to make the process as quick as possible. Hi Brian and Meghan, I would file a flat on the front landing gear leg so it will bite better and stay put better, as it will, as it is set up now turn to easily with just a not too good landing!
I bought this V2 and already have the V1. The only major difference is that V2 runs on 4s with a 800kv motor, 60A SMART ESC and AR637T and its red. The rest of the model is the same, the motor mount is the same, the landing gear is the same, the wings and connectors all the same. I wished they painted the bare foam areas. Nice model indeed.
Hey guys, I love the videos, I learn a lot from them every time I watch… That being said, I’ve noticed recently, Brian , you tend to go off on some tangents, that become completely unrelated to the model that you are talking about. then, when you finally get back to talking about the current model, you gloss right over the thing that I’ve been waiting to find out how it works if that makes sense. I hate to be critical, because I do really appreciate your videos and the hard work that go into them, but sometimes you just tend to go on and on about unrelated things. My two cents… Keep up the great work, I do love the videos
Just to clarify. Y’all were talking about the small triangular strips at the wing root and the one out towards the middle of the wing. Those are called stall strips. It initiates flow separation on part of the upper wing surface during high angles of attack to avoid the tendency to spin during a stall. It also helps with controllability as the plane approaches a stall.
@@BrianPhillipsRC Not really, winglets are there to reduce drag, these cutouts are really there for making sure that the inner part of the wing always loses airflow first.

Mr. Brian, at 36:42 it seems odd that there's not accompanying backplate for the spinner, like we have with the spinner on the sporty and trusty Commander 1.4m mPd?
Totally! I think the same thing, but they are different from time to time. So long as it doesn't' cause a problem, I don't try too hard to expect one style over another for spinners.
What's the airliner in the back at 16:51? I've been looking to buy a nice RC airliner but there is almost no options. The ones available are either really cheaply made (XK one) or shipping is like an extra $200.00 on top of a $600.00 plane (Freewing).
