Brian: Great coverage of the RV7. For all your followers that may be new to the hobby. They should not be afraid of this plane. I went from an apprentice directly to the RV7 and I found it very easy to fly. I did take the pants off and put on larger and soft wheels for better landings on grass. Great plane
GOOD IDEA about the wheel pants - these tires are small and HARD - why don't we have soft tires on RC planes yet??? LOL ;) Still, we're so spoiled with RC planes from just a few short years ago!
The Rv-7, Conscendo, Ultrix 600mm are hands down my go to planes for massive fun factors.. Placed a baby yoda in the passenger seat and have nothing but love for my Rv-7 *I used low bounce wheels on my Rv-7.. super awesome and quiet.. when dealing with nasty old asphalt worth the weight and price.*
Flying in the rain. You know, if that ESC gets wet, plane go down. That’s why I haven’t flown in rain. But hey, that’s why you do what you do, so we don’t have to!
I have the Cirrus and hated the noisy gear. The solution for me was to cut some brass tubing and slide it over the axles of the main gear. I had to widen the holes in the wheels to make them fit. I also like to add bike chain lube to the wheels and axles to make the spin much smoother. I couldn't add the brass tube to the nose gear because of how the gear was designed, but I did add some fuel tubing (as a spacer) to keep the wheel centered and less likely to wobble and make the annoying vibration sounds. It's so much quieter now!
Really have to speak for everyone that watches... Brian, you wife is an incredible videographer.. her videos have convinced me many times to buy these planes... best in the RC business for sure... NEED SOME ONBOARD FOOTAGE... please..! 🇦🇺🇦🇺🇦🇺
She is very good! Onbourd footage can't legally be shared, due to idiotic FAA rules...unless I get a Part 107 (Drone Pilot's License...but I might get one when I quit my day job).
@@BrianPhillipsRC - when you’re finished with the plane, send it my way and I’ll fly the pants off with onboard footage..(I’m in Australia 🇦🇺) we don’t have those rules... ; anyways, you could use the footage at your leisure..!
As someone who has a small car, I love that HH put the quick connecters for the servos and lights on the wing. I do not love that you then have to secure the wing with four screws. I so wish that they had given it one large thumb screw like the Twin Otter. Had they done that, the RV-7 would be perfect in my book.
I have got The RV-7 now and i must say it is awesome, i have not jet come to fly it because of Bad Weather but Just From the Looks its Just Worth every Penny.
Always appreciate the genuine feedback👍 The more I look at this RV7, more I the consider buying it. Like you I also like the T 28 a lot, especially the new one, I’m still waiting for my 90 mm Viper, which of course is a totally different beast, even thinking of doing a custom paint job👍🤠 in closing, looking forward to your next video and keep up the great work!👍🇨🇦

I hate to make a super subjective decision between GOOD planes, but at the end of the day, I do want to share what I PERSONALLY like too ;) Hope this doesn't change your mind away from an otherwise great plane! Good luck with you decision ;) So many good choices right now!!!
I like the t28 Trojan as well and the RV7 can't make up my mind.. I wish the t28 had flaps. I see the white t28 has flaps but I'm hearing that front nose gear is weak
As a new pilot, I'm currently flying an Apprentice S2, and a recently purchased Turbo Timber UMX, and I'm almost 100% certain that the RV7 is going to be the next add to my little fleet. As soon as I pay off everything else I've purchased from Horizon in the last three months! BTW, I glued a small piece of the rubbery shelf liner to the battery tray of my Apprentice, and it really has stopped the battery from sliding around under the strap. And it was my idea that I thought of long before I watched this video! Ha! Thanks for the review of the RV7. I can't wait to get mine! I've been waiting for my week off and it's just turned out to be 15mph winds every day and storms on the horizon after a couple weeks of bad weather already. Much longer and I'll probably do something similar. Can't even count on the calmer summer weather anymore since as everything heats up there's a solid month of wildfire smoke every year.

Quick question. Do you have the REVERSE set up with the PILOT FATIGUE feature you invented? (switch position that goes to full throttle reverse with no throttle stick movement)
I didn't setup the "Pilot Fatigue" on this plane. I just do that for planes with super high pilot demands for landing, and feel it's safe enough on an EDF jet. Can I link its receiver with a "Spektrum DXS DSMX 2.4GHz Transmitter", like the one that comes with the Carbon Cub? In an ad it says that for the RV 7 to be completed, I need a "Full-range 5-6+ channel Spektrum DSMX/DSM2 compatible transmitter"
We show how to set this up in our "Unbox, Build, Radio Setup Video" which is found in the playlist for a given aircraft. ruclips.net/p/PLXTH0DstRDc5ABIqxMehhAbSK9dj5PIDr

T-28 is like the Chevy Corvette, while the Cherokee is like the Cadillac DeVille...both GM's, and both have their place, but you won't believe how different the flying experience really is, until you fly them both!

It doesn't like grass with the wheel pants and the hard tires makes it want to bounce no matter how good you land it.there is sharp points on the landing gear design that pierces into the foam Fusaloge.it flys easy and amazing only downfall is the landing gear as with alot of foam planes.
Very good. They are noisy though. I like the RV7 more than the Extra 300 - but I'm more into scale GA planes.
Hey Brian your excitement is awesome dude. Hey, I'm thinking of getting a beginner plane (I have arrows pioneer) but thinking of getting aeroscout. Any other beginner planes you would recommend. I'm afraid of nose break with the aeroscout and was looking at the arrows Prodigy. Any thoughts??
Prodigy is coming very soon on our channel. We have it here but just haven't got it done, but here's our regular "Beginner choices" that we suggest... I assume the Prodigy will be nice, but we never say so until we know so ;)

Thanks Brian!!! You rock man. I will wait to see the prodigy before I buy anything. Will you compare it to a bit to the Aeroscout please.? BTW thanks for the Quick Reply!!
I flew the real RV- 7. Its an Awesome Experimental Aircraft.
It is good!
Normally wet on the outside and dry on the inside is not desirable. ;)
LOL ;)
I agree that this one is harder to land. Im bouncing all over the place!
yes, but with some practice, and if we'd ever get a calm day to fly this year, I'd love to practice and takeoff and land over and over again...just to get a few nice greasy landings ;)
They are cranes I believe.
I wonder!!! They are strange birds....like they're migrating, but not going anywhere?!?!!?
