This is why I subbed to this channel. The stories! Reminiscing about old crushes. Nostalgia for priceless moments with childhood friends. Grabbin some dudes balls. *sigh*
It is great about that "bitch" part to "Always something there to remind me". I LOVE club traditions. Our 90's goth club would play ABBA's dancing queen every goth night one time and EVERYONE had to go dance to it, We all literally sang the song too as if we were singing into imaginary hairbrushes, it was GREAT fun!
I always have a pen and paper ready when you start mentioning bands and I make a list of bands I never heard of to check out. XD And I think that there are some gothic songs in every musical genre and artists. For example, I think the song "Young and Beautiful" by Lana Del Rey has a darker and moodier tone that i think many fans of gothic music would enjoy. So I don't think that there should be any genre or artist excluded from goth clubs or from the gothic playlist, there could be some stuff a lot of people would like. But that is just my opinion. And being a music fan in general, I like to listen to a variety of song from different genres and whatever happens to catch my ear, I like.
Angela, you have no idea how much your playlists are a gift to not only the "Baby Bats" in your audience, but for old geezers like myself who remember when some of these pieces were making the rounds at Aldo's back in Northern NJ.. Currently I live in Arkansas with my normy wife, and I often find myself hard pressed to explain the music I used to listen to when I was in my twenties. Playlists like this are an invaluable asset to me. Thank you so much for your contributions to the community.
Oh, that was priceless! Thank you, you made me laugh harder than i did in weeks with that last story! :D Kept picturing your face as you realized what was going on, and when you said you started a trend, i completely lost it!
Jesus, you are naming all these bands I forgot about! LOL! I keep pausing this video to go search for these bands to listen again. It is going to take me forever to finish this video! LOL!
You are so funny Angela, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. :D I was not a fan of synth pop as a teenager in the 90s. I don't mind the sub-genre of music today, but I still prefer my tunes dark and moody.
Angela I'm in love with your essence I can't get over how beautiful you are. Synthpop is one is one of my favorite genres to DJ at a club especially a Goth club . I tend to play Synthpop bands like Depeche Mode , Cetu Javu , Desireless , Flock of Seagulls , Duran Duran , Anything Box, Handful of Snowdrops, Psyche.. Ministry (With Sympathy Era) Eleven Pond.. there's many more but I currently have a brain fart lol ect.... For example Velvet Eden (Goth /Synthpop from Japan ) "Luzifer" is a good one to play plus don't think a Goth Club wouldn't be proper without a little of touch of Synthpop
Fistful of swedish meatball I cracked up on that one. It's fuckin' 5 o'clock in the mornin' , I literally just choked on my coffee and I'm laughin' my arse off! You're a legend
Holy crap man my sides hurt from that story :D never really thought about synthpop after I went to hard rock and heavy metal. Probably still better than what passes for pop music today \m/
I'm a Pittsburgh native too and was (and still am) a part of the goth scene in the late 90's and early 2000's. Good old Ceremony days at Laga/The Upstage!
One of my favorites from Denver is Velvet Acid Christ. He/they used to open for Skinny Puppy. Synth/industrial/dark wave. Check out the albums Calling Ov the Dead, Fun with Knives, and Twisted Thought Generator. I saw Covenant 2 years ago, I have some video clips on my phone but will have to double check if anyone was a little nut-grabby.
Synth pop is played on the main floor a majority of the time at QXTs, the local goth club here in jersey. A lot of darker more "goth/new wave" is played in its own room in the basement. I think it has been ingrained now as a part of the goth subculture genre. Personally, I enjoy synth pop and will dance to it if it's played.
Ah synthpop. I've only heard a lot of synthpop from the 80s with bands such as Depeche Mode, Pet Shop Boys, Erasure, New Order, etc. You know, all the Synth/New Wave bands from that decade. And the only modern Synthpop exposure I had was from IAMX (because Sneaker Pimps
I saw Thrill Kill in the 90's. There's so many people in the band! I love them. I use to put Daisy Chain 4 Satan and Days of Swine and Roses on my mix tapes...KMFDM was my first Industrial concert in NYC-- This is me (in the middle) in 94'-95' see if you can find the hidden KMFDM in the picture :P instagram.com/p/BFmp3F5LJTc/
I listen to what's more-so known as synth rock. Namely a band called The Birthday Massacre. Their music is very atmospheric and strikes a balance between perky and melancholic, making it perfect for whatever tone of music you feel like listening to 👍 I feel that synth as a whole does have a place within the epitome of Goth music.
Synthpop was REALLY embedded in the FL goth club scene when I was in it: '02-'08 and everyone I knew before I was old enough to go to clubs listened to it as well as Future Pop and Electro Clash. In my mind those genres are tightly connected to the Cyber Goth subculture and, like you said, feed out of New Wave. In Orlando there wasn't much goth music. It was a mix of Industrial/EBM/Synthpop/Future Pop/Electro Clash. There was a downstairs area that played Sisters, Bauhaus, etc. but that closed down due to lack of popularity in around 2004. The Castle still has a night with some goth and older industrial, but I never heard exclusively goth music in a club until I moved to Portland. There is a club here that has a true goth night as well as a separate Post Punk night. Since my earliest days of club dancing included Synthpop, I definitely consider it part of what I call the "dark culture" genre. Future Pop and Electro Clash less so, but I like that they are included in the mix of stuff at clubs. I mean, I feel like everyone should love Ladytron. :) Surprised you didn't include Beborn Beton's song Another World in your playlist. That was my JAM! Here's a similar playlist I have going for the club night I frequented in Orlando named Necropolis at Independent Bar (was probably called Barbarella's when you were in FL). It's a bit later than the time you generally cover (I wasn't old enough to go to proper clubs until 2003) but may be enjoyable to people who are curious about Cyber Goth timelines. ruclips.net/p/PL25B1C623719A680F
Beborn, Another World is first on the playlist :P It's funny you mention Portland because my husband and I were talking about our impending move and wondering if there was a Goth scene in Portland. This was literally last night.
Haha! So it is! XD How did I miss that? I was a little bit apprehensive about what it would be like here but so far I've been out for a few nights and really enjoyed them. I also SEE other darklings out walking around - which is usually a good sign there are a lot hiding about. Killingsworth Dynasty has had my favorite nights - small and authentic. I feel like The Lovecraft would be better, but a lot of times they seem to be catering more to tourists than scene members. I'm determined to keep giving it a chance until something good happens. LOL Are you moving to this area?
HeavyMetalJess I'd love to give it a go-- Keep me posted, I'm genuinely curious. My husband and I have Portland at the top of our list. One of the issues is that I suffer from seasonal depression and the weather may pose an issue.
I went out again to Lovecraft and it was a miss again, sadly. Great venue, fantastic staff, but the music is always a miss for me. Thought I would follow up after the winter is wrapping up, I definitely think seasonal depression would be an issue here. It's often grey and rainy, especially in the fall and winter.
I love the synthpop sound from the 80's til now....funny thing is that I always called it 'new wave'. Since I can't find a single radio station that plays it, I get my fix right here on RUclips with these independent dj's releasing their own synth or darkwave music. As far as I'm concerned I think synthpop has its rightful place in the goth scene. At the Bank I always got up when they played a synthwave track especially 'Touch' by Succession.
Bahaha! This had me laughing. This same exact thing happened to me as a teen (except no trend started and he freaked out) the singer from that mainstream band, Stabbing Westward. lol thanks for reminding me of that memory, good times!
Angela Benedict Hahah! I was looking away too at my sister and her eyes began to grow wide, at that moment it was if time slowed as I looked where my hand was lodged. Great memories. Love your channel btw, you really capture and share the time well, and you're excellent at illustrating your stories, don't stop! X
I don't know if I've heard synthpop. I tend to just blindly listen to music at times. You're story btw, beautiful haha. I can only just imagine what went through this man's head at the time. Haha.
Here in Germany it depends on the kind of goth party if they play synthpop or not. On a "maintream black" party and Depeche Mode parties you hear a lot of it. I enjoy it, especially bands like Wolfsheim, Camouflage etc. Laughed so hard when I got to the part of your video with the "Eskil incident". But well, after what I've heard of him so far from friends, it's not that surprising. XD
If you dig new wave and 80s movie soundtracks, I highly recommend listening to synthwave. There's some amazing stuff there. The first time I heard Carpenter Brut's "Turbo Killer" I was blown away.
Interesting how the synth pop is more the main floor, and the goth stuff is now in it's own room. At QXT's it's the Crypt... synth seems to be the more mainstay at the clubs... unless you go to Defcon then it's more industrial.
I'm currently newer in trying learn about the subculture for about two years and currently trying explore music range! I really appreciate this! What are you thoughts on Depeche Mode? I looked into them and become quickly obsessed. VNV Nation songs carbon and anrena. And one enjoy the unknown
Jennifer Tilly, Courtney Love, and Marilyn Manson were goth in the nineties. Like Marilyn Manson started to be goth in the nineties, so he started to give himself a weird makeover, and Courtney Love obviously goth and also grungy. And Jennifer Tilly slightly goth in the movie “Bride of Chucky” with living dead girl by Rob Zombie…..
I guess I, being mostly a baby bat or maybe just emo, don't have much weight in my opinion about synthpop. But I'll give my opinion anyway :) I don't think it fits completely under the goth genre, but it definitely is alternative and fits more in between. My mom was into a lot of synthpop in the 80's before she "grew out of that phase."
hahaha i love this story! i was very into the aggressive old wax trax industrial music. but fell in love with the synth pop. i remember really enjoying seabound, De/Vision, and Soviet. And was it me or did some of those hard bands want to make a softer album? I called this sad machine bands ( haha ) my favorite was Fictional which was a side project of funker vogt. Their song " blue lights, " carries me away to my youth. again, thanks for the great video. I also kinda found synth pop to be my generations 80 music? if that make sense?
Eskil is the biggest flirt, we just saw him recently and he LOVED all the girls after the show, he danced with us all for hours he was so much fun and so much energy. He wore us all out. I loved your story about handling his Swedish meatballs, I figured he would have got a kick!
Damn I always thought it was 'Lucuna coil' haven't listened to that in aaaages. Facepalm🙈🙈🙈😂 Awesome stories. Btw small question, what is up with the audio quality or is it the laptop your using from your friend? Thanks for the upload. 😁
Angela Benedict haha no problem. If you've got bluetooth on it you might try paring it with your phone and use that as a mic. Oh btw, I was mistaken. I just searched for Icon of coil and that wasn't the band I was familiar with. It was indeed Lucuna coil, lol. But thanks for mentioning the band!
fallenfaerie1020 That is awesome and it looks as if she is indeed! I just listened to 'Swamped' and forgot how absolutely good they are. Must have been 10 years or so, in my mid teens 😂
I fucking LOOOOOOOVE Wolfsheim. I think they are quite goth friendly. A lot of their songs have a more melancholy or spooky sort of vibe to them. They may not be goth in a strict sense, but definitely goth friendly which is good enough for me.
Ya I think synthpop has it's place in a goth bar. That being said, I also think the choice of the song can make all the difference between a harmonious integration of synthpop with the rest of the evening or a disastrous clash. Some songs can very easily be mixed in while others will just stand out like a sore thumb.
Personally, I don't think it really does but it's debatable, I guess. I'll listen to Gothic rock, Darkwave or Post-punk and, every once in a while, switch over to synthpop (depending on my mood I). I have a thing for 80's music so I think that plays a part in it. Also, your story had me laughing 😂😂 It's 12am here and I'm trying to keep quiet 😝
Speaking through a playlist/sound perspective, I don't see Synthpop (Technopop in the 80s) like New Order or A Flock of Seagulls making it to a Goth Club. However, I do see the Cure and Depeche Mode (Black Celebration / Violator) making it. For me, do to moods, sounds, and themes, my experience is that Goth doesn't cover a wide range. A post relationship song of yearning in Goth is still brooding and moody. It's not gonna be "Oh L'amour" by Erasure. Where the club in the 80s/90s I went to (Krypton then became Haven then became Ivy) was an Alternative/New Wave 92.7 WLIR based club. You did hear Bauhuas, Sisters of Mercy and sometimes Clan of/Xymox. But again, not a wide range of Goth either.
I truly think we would have been good friends in the late 90s. NIN, Prick, Pop will eat itself. And my favorite anagram Kill mom for drug money or kill mother fucking Depeche mode lmao
I do think synthpop does have its place in the Goth scene; however, I feel as if it is dominating and muddying a lot of the newer music being produced today, and is somewhat a detriment to the future of the subculture.
That's really kind of you to say, thank you :) There are so many Gothic youtubers that do great make-up tutorials and they have far more skill than myself.
Synthpop definitely has it's place in goth; it's like the little cousin of Blade Runner for god's sake! What's not to love for a goth? I see dark synthpop as the futuristic version of goth; both have a dark harkening to a sort of mystical time and place, that never happened or hasn't happened yet, depending... but yeah, for sure.
"A FIST FULL OF SWEDISH MEATBALLS", HAHAHA. I've seen Covenant a couple of times, and they always put on a great show (one of the great things with living in Sweden) :) I don't think that part of the show is included anymore though.
Here in Germany you sometimes hear the word "Mädchen-Elektro" or "Weiber-Elektro" in relation with Synthpop or especially Futurepop because these bands were perceived as a softer, more romantic - well - more girly - version of the rougher, more screamy electronic (goth) music. Not suggesting any discussion about gender stereotypes here btw, its just a term I heard a lot.
Haha, what a funny story with the nut grabbing! XD He must have felt like a true rockstar! On a side note, I come from Israel and I can tell you And One are really popular in the Iseaeli goth club scene. There is no dark electro/ebm party without them! I live in Berlin now and they are rarely played.... especially on old school ebm parties And One would be a huge no no!
I'm glad you liked it! I still feel a ghostly warmth in the palm of my hand when I recall the incident :P The fact that And One is such a big no no in the German clubs was much of the cause for disagreements here. There were a lot of people who went to the festivals in Germany, Dj'd, spent time in Germany as well as attended the clubs there and saw that bands like And One and De/Vision was chart music. Things you hear on the radio and popular among a mainstream audience and not the Gothic subculture. I remember lots of debates about this.
true, they are considered chart music here, but boy, nothing beats a good dance to And One for me. The thing is, with the gothic subculture being so diverse you can "allow" it to branch into chart music and more underground (kind of being the underground of the underground if that makes sense) but that won't work in other places of the world where the subculture is very limited and small
Time and place. Music being an integral component of the Goth subculture, I do understand that there are certain foundation bands and their songs - Siouxsie, Bauhaus, the Cure. But these are 80's creations that are nostalgic in that they were what the nascent Goth subculture identified with as it was established. Angela, you are 90's Goth and that decade, as you point out, has its own Goth generation and the music you enjoyed had evolved from the earlier bands and was embraced as Goth. Being musically inclined, I'm sure there was music other than Goth-centric that you liked. Perhaps synth-pop falls into that category. Seems the proper perspective may be that Goths liked certain synth-pop music rather than synth-pop being categorized as Goth. Nothing wrong with that. I think each generation embraces what dark, moody and emotionally satisfying music of the time speaks to individuals within the Goth subculture. BTW, you introduced me to Mors Syphilitica which I think is some of the best music I've heard in a very long time. I know you have a music list out here somewhere, but what other bands fall into that type of presentation?
Like with a lot of bands, I am sure there is some synthpop music that has gothic tones to it out in the world somewhere, but I don't think it nestles snuggly into a seat as a gothic subgenre.
One of the very first bands I ever heard, even before I went goth, was the cure. They boarder synth-pop and post punk, which is why I see synth-pop in a similar light as any sub genre in our genre. As for the testicle incident, ...My initial thoughts are far too colorful even for the internet, more so your youtube channel. LOL....
I definitely think by now, synthpop is quite regular in goth music nights but like you said back then it was still too new and weird so it didn't fit in. Most of the songs on the (awesome) playlist you made is moody and gothy synthpop I find so it totally fits! some synthpop though is too uppity and perky which in that case...keep FAR AWAY from goth haha
This is why I subbed to this channel. The stories! Reminiscing about old crushes. Nostalgia for priceless moments with childhood friends. Grabbin some dudes balls. *sigh*
He teabagged my open palm when I was looking the other way lol

"Fist full of Swedish meatballs" should be a name of a band or the title of Eskil's autobiography.
We should pitch the idea.
Wait a sec. Pitch.....meatballs........idea.? I feel like there is a connection here that I can't quite put my fingers on.
I love your style! Gothic but minimalist as well! Please do a look book ❤️💀
Doesn't need much to be happy

I think that about Laura Branigan - self control. She lives among the creatures of the night.

I'm so happy you enjoy them! Check spotify for a playlist by someone by the name of DvngeonFvck - The playlist is called subversion. It's awesome!
Oh, that was priceless! Thank you, you made me laugh harder than i did in weeks with that last story! :D
Kept picturing your face as you realized what was going on, and when you said you started a trend, i completely lost it!

That's awesome! I'm glad you reacquaint you with your old favs
I've only really listened to Ministry's synthpop album and i really enjoy it and everyday is halloween is a classic.
Covenant was mentioned some other electronic bands that are my personal favs:
- Assemblage 23
- De/Vision
- VNV Nation
Eeeek your club stories are my favorite!
Your stories are too funny XD and you look pretty as usual!
I'm dying laughing about the nuts! LOL
I love synth pop and a lot of 80s/90s goth stuff, I like a mix of music in my playlists.
I love your stories so much! So glad I discovered your channel. You're definitely one of my favorite youtubers ever!
I like synth-pop without the handful of nuts :D.
LOL!!! Great stories! I so love the Naked Eyes song "always something there to remind me" It is my childhood fave.
Me too
lmao this story was awesome! And yes I concur with the playlist being in the gothic sub-genre ^___^
You are so funny Angela, I thoroughly enjoyed this video. :D I was not a fan of synth pop as a teenager in the 90s. I don't mind the sub-genre of music today, but I still prefer my tunes dark and moody.

I would love a walk through your jewelry box lol you have awesome pieces
Fistful of swedish meatball
I cracked up on that one. It's fuckin' 5 o'clock in the mornin' , I literally just choked on my coffee and I'm laughin' my arse off!
You're a legend
Loved your stories 🤘🏻😂
Thanks!
I would love to see all your nineties playlists! A goth mixed tape :)
Your clothing and that necklace look really good together!
By the way, do you remember where you got that necklace...?
Thank you! I can't even remember, I've had it for years. Its says it's made by Rock Rebel, though :)
Angela Benedict
That helps, thanks! I will search for it until I find it...
Holy crap man my sides hurt from that story :D never really thought about synthpop after I went to hard rock and heavy metal. Probably still better than what passes for pop music today \m/
Well what can I say, we swedes are vary proud of our meatballs XD
Köttbullar? Delicious
I love ur old Goth Stories... reminds me of the past as well..I love it....I wasn't in NY but was in Pittsburgh and had a cool goth scene back then...
I'm a Pittsburgh native too and was (and still am) a part of the goth scene in the late 90's and early 2000's. Good old Ceremony days at Laga/The Upstage!

I loved the Bank. I was there nearly every weekend during the mid to late 90s. I’m still a Rivet Head!!!
I was a teenager in the 80's and synth pop is my "home". Still a big fan of early Depeche Mode. But then, I'm not goth :-)
stunning ;)

I've been to QXT's once in 99' and there was only 1 main room. That's cool that they have 2 rooms now :)
Angela Benedict it's actually 3 dance floors now. You should come back and compare it to how it was in 99'
Ah synthpop.
I *love* synthpop, probably as much as I love goth rock. This is probably from too many 80s/goth night hybrids in the 90s.
lipstick color is superb
Thanks!
I thought so too! Wondering what shade that is....
NYX - Cophenhagan mixed with black liner.
Thank you. :)
I love your lipstick :-)
Loving the stripes, screaming jack Skellington. heh
I love synthpop. I got a band myself. I'm curious on your thoughts on KMFDM and My Life With The Thrill Kill Kult. Love your stories

It went from a Synth pop gig to a nut grabbing fiesta in minutes. I can only imagine he went home and said "New Yorkers are crazed perverts!
He seemed to enjoy it though.
Super interesting to hear for us who were to young to be there!
XD
loving the videos!!!
And I've never liked synthpop, but I think it fits if people like it. I'm not a genre specific kind of person.
If you dig new wave and 80s movie soundtracks, I highly recommend listening to synthwave. There's some amazing stuff there. The first time I heard Carpenter Brut's "Turbo Killer" I was blown away.
Have you seen the retrowave channel?
I have not.
Michael Kingery These are great! ruclips.net/user/NewRetroWave
this was surreal to hear, lmao! good story
i
Interesting how the synth pop is more the main floor, and the goth stuff is now in it's own room. At QXT's it's the Crypt... synth seems to be the more mainstay at the clubs... unless you go to Defcon then it's more industrial.
Chirality Raven I was going to comment the same thing about QXTs!
Sahn Druh that's awesome lol
I'm currently newer in trying learn about the subculture for about two years and currently trying explore music range! I really appreciate this! What are you thoughts on Depeche Mode? I looked into them and become quickly obsessed. VNV Nation songs carbon and anrena. And one enjoy the unknown
Currently adding everything on your list to go explore thank you soo much for sharing I really appreciate!
I really love synthpop some like you said is a bit to cheerful for my taste but all in all I think it's a wonderful genre.
I loved this! I wish I could have been at that Covenant show...
It was eventful!
i find synth pop to happy for Goth but its still nice music
Around here we used synthpop for 80's and early 90's acts and stuff like And One was called "Weiberelektro"
DJ Doc's Videos Lol :D
Büchseöffner?
Completely off topic, but I had a necklace that was a lot like the one you're wearing when I was a wee little baby bat. Now I miss it.
Ahhh, the 90s.
Goth clubs play 'Why Can't I Be You' and 'Lovecats' by the Cure, and Depeche Mode is a staple. Not sure why'd these bands wouldn't fit right in.
I guess I, being mostly a baby bat or maybe just emo, don't have much weight in my opinion about synthpop. But I'll give my opinion anyway :)
I don't think it fits completely under the goth genre, but it definitely is alternative and fits more in between.
This takes me back and I played a lot of it myself when I spun. Wolfsheim and Beborn Beton were guaranteed to fill a floor, especially among females.
Damn I always thought it was 'Lucuna coil' haven't listened to that in aaaages. Facepalm🙈🙈🙈😂
Awesome stories. Btw small question, what is up with the audio quality or is it the laptop your using from your friend?
Thanks for the upload. 😁
Still on my friends laptop. The audio quality is god awful. I may just start a gofundme for a new laptop XD Who did you think was Lacuna Coil?
Angela Benedict haha no problem. If you've got bluetooth on it you might try paring it with your phone and use that as a mic.
Oh btw, I was mistaken. I just searched for Icon of coil and that wasn't the band I was familiar with. It was indeed Lucuna coil, lol. But thanks for mentioning the band!
You mean Lacuna Coil ^^; I've seen them live once, they're great! Cristina Scabbia seems ageless.
fallenfaerie1020 That is awesome and it looks as if she is indeed! I just listened to 'Swamped' and forgot how absolutely good they are. Must have been 10 years or so, in my mid teens 😂
Yeah I discovered them back in high school, maybe sophmore year? Can't remember honestly. But that was quite some time ago!! I'm 28 now lol
Kill Mother Fucking Depeche Mode! I remember another one, Konietzko Makes Fine Dance Music.
I was way into synthpop and industrial/aggrotech way more than goth really...Oh YEAH it's so different in Germany!!!
Awesomeness ☺☺x
Well, so their music must have been very enter... I mean, "occupying" :-)
I do think synthpop does have its place in the Goth scene; however, I feel as if it is dominating and muddying a lot of the newer music being produced today, and is somewhat a detriment to the future of the subculture.
yin-yang plus a dash of red
Angela, you're such a wonderful woman...dont you think about showing us a video tutorial over your makeup a day?
That's really kind of you to say, thank you :) There are so many Gothic youtubers that do great make-up tutorials and they have far more skill than myself.
Angela Benedict yeah, but I haven't ever seen one of them teaching a make up which is both simple and extremely beautiful like yours.
D omme Thank you
Synthpop definitely has it's place in goth; it's like the little cousin of Blade Runner for god's sake! What's not to love for a goth? I see dark synthpop as the futuristic version of goth; both have a dark harkening to a sort of mystical time and place, that never happened or hasn't happened yet, depending... but yeah, for sure.
Omg I think I would've been mortified if I grabbed someone's happy pouch by accident. Luckily he didn't get upset or anything. Lmao.
I was looking the other way when the parcel arrived but I'm not 100% that he didn't tea bag my open hand.
Not suggesting any discussion about gender stereotypes here btw, its just a term I heard a lot.
lol thank u yes i injoyed your video thanks for sharing ....
At 7:40 : You're a babe! I'm a muso but I never ever got cupcakes from a fan before. Just booze or weed
My only comment is: Hilarious - "Swedish meatballs!"
Synthpop is for me... strange in a Goth Club
Like with a lot of bands, I am sure there is some synthpop music that has gothic tones to it out in the world somewhere, but I don't think it nestles snuggly into a seat as a gothic subgenre.
No I'm Frozen 🤣😂😭😅🖤
I really love your videos. but the audio is a bit off
My laptop died and I'm on a loaner computer-- The mic on this is awful :/
What's your opinion on Faith And The Muse?
Love.
LOL....
Black Skull :D
Testicles and synthpop go together like cookies and milk!
Angela Benedict I see what you did there, madam. ;)
Black Skull :P
I definitely think by now, synthpop is quite regular in goth music nights but like you said back then it was still too new and weird so it didn't fit in. Most of the songs on the (awesome) playlist you made is moody and gothy synthpop I find so it totally fits! some synthpop though is too uppity and perky which in that case...keep FAR AWAY from goth haha
LOL @ sweedish meatballs
Ikea's finest!
What do you think about Doom/Stoner?
