Robbie, you are my hero! I have been watching your videos for a month mostly for solace. We have a few hummingbirds in our yard here in Oregon. I just made a "dot" feeder and hung it from a fig tree with a wire and within AN HOUR, we have a little girl bird feeding from it.
Thank you SO MUCH for your fun, enthusiastic upbeat videos.

Thanks for all your videos! I just started seeing my first hummingbirds at my newly placed feeder yesterday. I even went to clear some ants off (I need to make a moat) and while I was keeping the feeder steady, a female flew right up by my face, perched, and fed. I had been seeing males all day, but that was the first female I saw. I'm so excited for them to get used to my presence.

Hi Robbie, I am a hummingbird fanatic, I fell in love with these birds a long time ago, I live in NY and only have the Ruby Throated. I've been working towards creating a hummingbird sanctuary for these tiny blessings who come back to visit every year in late April, early May. I love watching your videos and have recently begun making a bunch of the bath's and feeders that you have suggested. I appreciate all that you do. Thank you so much for all your ideas.

What a great recycle, reuse project. I have tons of hummingbirds and some that I ended up caring for til they could leave my nest.🙂 I may have to try the little cups though, they are so clever. I am going to give your bird bath buckets too. I have to wash out and refill my traditional bird baths twice a day- that bucket project looks easier for me and the birds. 😂

Robbie, I want to thank you so much for your advice last winter. I talked to you about how to help my hummingbird winter over. Considering I only had 3 last summer, I can only hope that the one that is in my yard Is my old friend. I have seen another one, but he doesn't hang around. Hopefully as I put out a few more feeders, & my flowers pop up I'll see more. I'm a senior & especially since the shutdown bird watching (and squirrels too) are my only form of entertainment. I get so excited when I see them. Well thanks again. Patty

I ordered me one of the solar fountains from Ebay and got it in. Going to fix it for my hummingbirds. I also got to go to Dollar General yesterday evening late and found one of those tiny tall feeders for the hummingbirds. It only feeds one but they have almost emptied it today. They love it! Thanx for sharing your ideas!

In case you're curious, hummie spent the night inside my home. Perched on a lamp chain. This morning, I opened the doors, but hummie didn't leave! I was concerned that s/he was running out of energy -- since hummingbirds have such a high metabolic rate. I raced across the lake to Butchers Block supply store. They were open and they stocked Hummingbird feeders! I bought a couple, with nectar. (I have the little cups you advised left over from another project so I'll make some in the future.) For now, I set up the feeders -- one inside and one outside. In a couple of minutes, Hummie fround the one inside and drank its fill. Then, it found the open door and zoomed out. Pretty sure it will be back and then it can drink from the outside feeder. I'll mount the inside one, outside too. Thanks for your video!

Oh, Robbie! Now the bees love your feeders, too. Not good when you are wearing the hat with the feeder. Gary to the rescue! Such a simple feeder that the hummingbirds like to use. A hummingbird fly by! What did I say about a laugh! A great idea for not wasting food. Thank you again for sharing. Take care, stay safe. Blessings

I got your idea and improvised it a bit. KFC has a bit larger containers for mashed potatoes, coleslaw, etc. and they are already red. I have several of the Dollar Tree feeders that I use for "parts", so I got the yellow flowers and put them on the KFC containers. I found some candle holders at the thrift store and I set the new KFC feeders on them. Thank you for all your ideas and for thinking outside the box.

Thank you for this alternative. I had one feeder last year that a pair of hummers were visiting. Bought a second one this year after watching your channel, but an aggressive smaller hummingbird with different markings took over both of the feeders-had the feeders too close I guess. Now, I know I can set up different stations. Thank you-Thank you for your channel.

Oh my goodness. You are an enabler 😍. My Hummingbirds are not friendly. They fight each other and don't share. The only time one drank the syrup from my hand was when I was taking it down to clean and fill and he got on while I was taking it down. How I wish they didn't mind us around.

I just made my version of this feeder. I picked up a $1.99 item at the thrift store that holds the little cups perfectly. My birds love to use it as a perch too! My painted flowers look like a complete mess so later I am going to use my cricut machine to cut a nice looking flower and put it over my awful artwork:) I don't know how to add pictures to the comment. If I did I would post a few of my little birds at their new DIY feeder:) My fountain is a no go. They just don't like it. So I am going to attempt a different style soon. Love your channel!

I'm soooo happy I found you the other day Robbie! I'm sooo addicted to your channel now. I actually went out and bought premixed concrete so I can try to make the round little fountains you did....one was a ball.....I am so doing this. I basically have lost ALL my trees I can reach for feeders so my yard is full of hooks. We have a patio with no railing so that won't work either for these little button feeders. I WILL figure something out though. I LOVE ALL my birds even my sweet little black birds that everyone else in my area likes to kill.....ugh! Anyway...Cannot thank you enough for all the informative and AWESOME vids you share with us. God bless you and yours. ;)

I have a mountain home -- at Big Bear Lake. I've been working on my deck and left the doors open. After the sun went down, I came in for dinner. Soon I heard a buzzing sound. Then I saw a hummie had come in and was seeking a way out. I turned off all the lights except for the porch, and reopened the door. I hid in a bedroom. A few hours later, I checked and hummie was still there. If I turned on a light, it was attracted. I had to close the doors or racoons would come in -- or little Mexican bats. So now it is 10:30PM. I'll be up withthe sun and reopen the doors. Maybe hummie will sleep now and at dawn will flit out. Then I'm going across the lake and get what I need to make some feeders. Heck, maybe I'll just drop in to D.I.Y. and buy a couple. Thanks for you bubbly, upbeat article. I wonder if I should dissolve a vitamin tablet in the sugar water. Maybe even add a pinch of hydrolyzed collagen.

I'm a bit lazy about them, but the birds will eat the food until the black mold starts making an appearance: once a week in winter; more often in summer is what I do. (Definitely get a bottle brush. The dollar store has them. And clean out the little holes. The mold starts in there often.)
