I love how easy and cheap it is to bless hummers. I'm disabled and have little money. I sit on my porch and enjoy my few trees and feeders. The birds , hummers, doves, cardinals and a host of others come and I love them! They enjoy soft music 🎶 too. Thank you for helping us make the world a sweeter place!
Being from Sweden, I sometimes get a question about how people in America are. Are they Nice? Loud? Rude? Kind? You are the answer. I always try to describe it, and you just came along and fit the description. Thanks for being so very blissfully happy, kind, entertaining, loud, energizing, smiling and all out American.
Most Americans are like that, but it mostly all depends on there personality some can be loud and some can be quite some can be rude and some can be nice, it all depends (I'm American) and I've seen alot of people that are loud, entertaining and kind
Cute and clever. Love it! I do 4 cups (1qaurt) water to 1 1/3 cups sugar but by your ratios I can use 1 quart of water to 1 cup sugar. I have collected all kind of humming bird feeders and it is a pain to go out every 2-3 days to clean them all. I have too many throughout front/back yard…some of my expensive ones are pretty but either all the nectar water leaks out or they drip. I have found some of your basic inexpensive feeders work better. But your method tops the cake…upcycled, inexpensive…less sugar in my case and easier than standing at the sink washing a load of bird feeders! Seriously it’s like doing 3 extra loads of dishes so now I can just replace the baggie and rinse off the tops😊…a little extra time to repair/repaint my garden gnomes and bears😊. This makes me smile😊 I can go sit at my picnic table and drink coffee, paint garden gnomes, sip coffee and enjoy the birds and get mesmerized all over again..rinse, repeat and skip the dishes😂 ❤from PNW
You are simply AMAZING! I bought a plastic trash can and a plastic plate and now I have to find my pump...I know I have one somewhere...or buy one! I can't wait to get it done! Thank you!
I went too Walmart and had a hard time finding help. It took a long time for me too get the help I needed. I’ve been watching your videos. You’re very creative and resourceful. I’ve always loved hummingbirds but didn’t know much about them. Thank you for educating us.

You need to realize how blessed and lucky you are to have th!s many hummingbirds birds in your life..it's like being visited by lil angels everyday. Awww look at all these Hummers..don't ever take this for granted
Hello Robbie! I loved your idea of using squatty containers, and looking around my kitchen, I realized I had a set of Anchor Hocking 1-cup round baking and storage containers with rubbery lids that happen to be RED! I sacrificed them for my experiment, and lo and behold, they work! I made a hanger similar to yours, using parachute cord. Then I slid a bread plate at the base of the hanger, filled it with water to make an ant moat, and set the homemade feeder on it. I only have 3 hummingbirds, but they all started consistently visiting within 4 days! I am thrilled! Since I only feed a handful of hummers, having many of these smaller containers is going to save me a lot in nectar that was going to waste because it needed to be changed before it was used up. Also, many of my summer days are in the 90s, and the regular feeders tend to leak when it gets that hot, no matter how much I try to keep them in the shade. Because these have the wholes on top, they cannot leak! Best of all, these containers come in a set of four and retail for $6 to $9. At that price, I can make so many more! Thank you! (Now I'm looking at my ramekins and all my reusable "condiment" containers...and at my jewelry wire and glass beads that I could make spiral-y, colorful hangers with...oh, oh!)
I find it amazing that the Hummingbirds are feeding next to each other in your garden. We only have the Ruby-Throated here, and they are notorious for one to stand guard to keep all the other Hummingbirds away. Stingy little buggers!
Ohmygarsh yes! SoCaliUSA, and our Hummers divebomb one another. 6 feeders and only 3 birds at a time. I can hear the birds the next house over, chirping and waiting patiently "on deck".
Hi Robbie, I love your passion for Hummingbirds! I love feeding them too but stopped because the feeders were so hard to get really clean. This is brilliant! I found that placing the bag inside the cup bottom ring part instead of over the outside works better. You can screw the top on over the bag so it goes to the outside and not toward the inside where the food is and then trim the extra plastic baggy part off and its all caught in the lid. No leaks.
Great idea, thank you for posting. Instead of a plastic bag at the bottom, I cut the peanut butter jar into thirds, and hot glue the top third to the bottom third, discarding the center third, screw the lid with holes to the top section. No plastic bag, it works just fine. Set it inside a bigger jar bottom, or a bigger lid for the ant moat, and for the hummers to perch on.
Wonderful thank you. We have sunbirds here. I crocheted small tubular flowers & put small bottle of nectar. They r enjoying it. First I thought will they ever come. Now they have marked territory!! Thanks for your great ideas
Robbie your so amazing I love watching 👀your videos on hummingbirds and your feeders I love hummingbirds myself and try to sit and watch them all the time I wish I lived somewhere I could watch the all year long
My wife Nora and i really enjoy your videos of all your homemade feeders and solar fountains. And the different kinds of feeders. We like the homemade ones you made with the Peanut butter jars and it seems the Hummingbirds also liking them more than the store bought ones. Our kids are saving there PB jars for us, because it takes us a while to go through PB. my Wife Nora and i were getting a big kick out of when your husband Gary was looking for his jars, it was like a comedy show. My wife borrows stuff from our garage ,but i also don,t mind at all. You two reminded us of how we are. So were waiting for our grownup kids to give us there empty PB jars and make these awesome looking feeders. Love the ideas and videos and you and Gary and the Hummingbirds.
You are just the cutest!!! I love your enthusiam and passion for these little guys. I only have a couple feeders, but plan on adding many more. They are right outside my home office window (I have a home based biz) so I get to watch them all day long while I work. It really makes my day!
Thank you so much for sharing!!! Our budget has been drastically cut. Long story but husband has been on worker’s compensation since July 2019 and now can’t go back to work because of covid even though doc has released him to work. Both hands were injured and he is a carpenter so he may be permanently disabled. Talk about falling through the cracks. I put out dollar tree feeders which do not have a place for the hummers to perch as you have suggested. Can’t afford the baskets of flowers I usually put out. At my house they love impatience so I bought about $5 worth and cypress vine seeds. Waiting for vines to grow (which they lived last year) along with veggie garden. Haven’t seen a hummer yet. I do have these jars though! Have watched many of your videos and will review again. Any other suggestions are welcome but I think this will work to get them back. Thanks again!!!
This is so impressive that my docile brain is exploding with many possibilities !! It has started getting wings! I am definitely going to have a few of this hanging in my almost barren yard. I have just started very recently planting a few veggies in storage bins. INSPIRED by your vedios😆😆 I am fairly new to your channel hardly 3 or 4 videos I have seen. But your level of energy is sure contagious. I have 4 bins already planted. I have starter plants to go into another 5 bins ready!! I am very excited with you solar fountain in bucket too. You are wonderful!!!
I’ve had one of my conventional hummingbird feeders to fall when I used one bread tie I took two twisted them and it gave it double the strength that I’ve had no more problems with two bread ties twisted together
You are adorable... and your joy is so contagious! I found you videos after moving into our new home and noticing two hummingbirds coming to our windows and peering inside. They caught my attention. I now have eight different feeders (to keep any bullying at bay). We have several different species. I am getting so much pleasure out of watching them and caring for them in my own small way. I am now looking into heated hummingbird feeders as I have learned that one species will most likely stay through the winter. In Idaho we reach some very cold temperatures Any tips from anyone on keeping feeders from freezing and not over heating their food would be so appreciated. Thank you Robbie for your wonderful contribution on behalf of your bird friends, and fellow animal lovers. We appreciate you!
Wonderful 😊 I will try to get more up on heated hummingbird feeders later on in the year. I keep my hummingbird feeders up against the house in the Winter when really cold, and that helps keep them warm. Thanks for sharing and thank you so much.
I'm impressed, and I think you are wonderful. I save all my mano and peanut butter jars. And the lids. Can't wait to make some humming bird feeders. Thank you for sharing a simple but cool and beautiful idea.
Thanks for your creative ideas! You are a great teacher and I love your enthusiasm. I watch and listen to your videos as they are so uplifting and your voice is so cheerful. My husband and I thought your other feeder video with Gary looking for his containers was so cute; we got a good chuckle! 💖 😁 👍👍
No joke, I have taken many....but he really is okay with that, as long as I can get him something for all those nuts and bolts and stuff he has, thanks, Robbie
I watch your videos, mostly to see the little hummingbirds, it's so much fun. If you have too many birds, I can send a few plane tickets and get them to my place....hahaha
I love this don’t you have a subscribe button. I have learned so much. I am a horticultural therapist and I love you chairs with totes in them as gardens
I love this🌺 how lovely thanks for your time , the world needs more beautiful people like you, I love those little guys humming birds are my passion we have some every year coming to my back yard in Utah , I love your idea I'll try ❤️🙏thank you take care
So fun! Every time I watch one of your videos I wanna run to the dollar store and get stuff! lol up here in Redding or dollar stores don’t have the goodies that larger stores have. I don’t know how you keep up with all those feeders Robbie is a full-time job just checking in making sure they’re all cleaned and filled! 😄🤗👍
Love your happy spirit made me happy thank you. We notice a humming bird on our deck the only change we have is we have a pumpkin patch by there but excited make a feeder with my girls.
So cool I don't have any trees I live in a mobile home park! I have a window I was thinking of getting one of those see through feeders with suction cups!
I enjoyed every bit of your video, thank you so much for sharing this awesome tutorial. I love your gorgeous hummingbirds and your set up. Also your excitement just added an amazing vibe to the video 👏🏼🌺 I wish we had those lovely birds peace out from a guy watching from Saudi Arabia.
Thank you Robbie! After attempting other video's DIY hummingbird feeder, this one worked!! I now have hummingbird visitors throughout my day. AND enjoying creating a little garden-like sanctuary on my humble patio. LOve frOm SoCaL
Absolutely Love your videos ! Such enthusiast, With a cheerful and pretty smile that's very contagious, Always puts a smile on my face watching you do what you do. Never stop putting out videos.
so happy you made this video . after buying one feeder and using your recipe that worked amazing i now need more. the male's like to fight it seems . so i will use my recycled peanut butter jars to make more 😊 thank you
Thank you Robbie, 1st time seeing your video and what a great idea for making these easy DIY feeders. I know what I will be doing today. I have 4 big feeders and more than 70 Hummingbirds now and want to add more of these colorful ones to my garden. Your energy is intoxicating! I'm in Central Louisiana.
Thank you so much Robbie. I am learning alot from you. I have a lot of them they just depend on fruit tree bora jujube. I am going to do this. God bless you. Wish you happy new year.
I sense a "cottage industry" in someone's future! You now have a Hummingbird Sanctuary! I hope you don't come to regret all the extra work of mixing the brew & filling all those feeders. I'm having trouble just keeping up with 3 feeders that have to be filled every 3rd day. They love to dive-bomb me too & it's kind of fun, I must admit! Curious Creatures these tiny birds are!
I make my own sugar water and the hummingbirds do not drink from it but will take nectar from my plants instead. Any suggestions? What is your recipe ?
I saw a post today. Where a guy was fighting bees. He used a open weave potato bag (or) . He cut pieces to fit inside the holes... then glued them (something 5000) to inside. When dry put together. Bees went crazy trying then gave up. Birds had plenty room to drink.
Robbie, you are the cutest sweetest caring lady! Thanks for educating people on hummingbirds and nature. You are awesome! 😉 keep it up. Karen from Huntsville, Al 🚀 The Rocket city
Your so cute and funny. Love all the work your doing to help Inspire the rest of us. I’m making the feeder right now. It is fun and your so smart to have come up with this idea. Love it! Keep teaching us. I have learned soooooo much from you already. Thanks for all you do for the Beautiful hummingbirds and all you do for us. Linda
Love watching you!! Instead of an ant moat you can use vaseline to keep the ants out! (HVAC Repair dude told me to use this around my outside unit after ants blew it up!)
My wife and I noticed a couple of ruby throated hummingbirds around her hibiscus plants here in Missouri. We started out with 2 feeders and now I'm up to 6 with about 25 or 30 hummingbirds buzzing around our house like an airport terminal. Their migration starts pretty soon and I'll miss these tiny birds full of bravado and curiousity.

❤That's so sweet @TestDriver! I have to agree this amazing lady is super duper amazing! Full of life, energy, fun and so sweet to those birds. 🇺🇲🤍💙
You must stay up nights to think of all the different ways to make hummingbird feeders. That’s classic & cheap!! Love it
I do 😊 thanks ❤️
Paper clips make great hooks too. Easy to shape to your like. These feeders are great thank you.💕

@@jeffreydavis2578 Ours also fight each other. I wish I had the time and dedication to have several feeders 😐

I must say, that tiny cups do take way too much time for me to wash and fill ALL DAY, thanks, Robbie
Interesting! Thanks
Robbie, you are the cutest sweetest caring lady! Thanks for educating people on hummingbirds and nature. You are awesome! 😉 keep it up. Karen from Huntsville, Al 🚀 The Rocket city

Inspire the rest of us. I’m making the feeder right now. It is fun and your so smart to have come up with this idea. Love it! Keep teaching us. I have learned soooooo much from you already. Thanks for all you do for the Beautiful hummingbirds and all you do for us. Linda
I like to use Christmas ornament hangers for hooks, especially the fancy scrolly ones! For heavy duty hanging, sometimes I use shower curtain hooks.

You are too much fun
I just got my first Hummingbird feeder
it is so gorgeous. loved it.
Love watching you!! Instead of an ant moat you can use vaseline to keep the ants out! (HVAC Repair dude told me to use this around my outside unit after ants blew it up!)
yes you can, but vaseline can get on the hummers' wings and cause problems!
