The pulling the head off the rose thing is a throwback to the old tv show where Morticia would snip the heads off of her roses because she grew them for their thorns, not their blooms.
No, no, pulling the head off a rose and putting the steam on a grave and discarding the pedals is a very old curse toward the dead, it curses them to never rest in peace.

@@johnwillis4706 It could definitely by both but Morticia wasn't acting like she was being vengeful she was acting sorrowful. So I think the curse thing is an outlier here.
its also for the movie Morticia too! where in the movie, she was cutting the blooms off and putting the thorny stems in a vase.

As an autistic adult I see a lot of myself in Wednesday. Social cues and taking other people into consideration when I'm hyperfocusing on something is NOT my forte. A lot of people in the neurodivergent community are loving this show because of Wednesdays portrayal and that brings me so much joy
Not just because of the Wednesday performance, but that of everyone around her. The anger and disappointment at the expectations they place on her not being met is spot on. I have two kinds of friends: those who understand that they shouldn't assume I'll do something unless I've agreed to it, and those who haven't yet learned the hard way to take my warning about this seriously.
This episode was great though, Wednesday totally crossed the line into outright manipulation, seeing people only as pawns to move on the chessboard of her goals. I've a few other ND friends who lapse into this behaviour without realising they're doing it, and you need to find a way to call them out on it. You've gotta respect other people's agency.

Enid‘s characteristics is much wolf/dog like. Super friendly in general or to those they love even those who hurt or abuse them. They’re generally lovable and needy.
She also whimpers a lot while they’re checking out the Gates house.

The Adamses really are the perfect family. They're unconditionally loving and supportive, and Gomez and Morticia are relationship goals.

I wish the series had more Gomez and Morticia Adams Catherine Zeta-Jones and Luis Guzmán are so good in their roles... also yes, Wednesday is kind of a crappy friend, Enid deserves better

"Deep Throat" was the nickname of the informant who helped the reporters break the Watergate story which caused President Nixon to resign, it was covered in the movie "All the President's Men"
Also a major plot point in the hilarious Dick, with Kirsten Dunst and Michelle Williams

@@MrFloppyHare That's actually how the informant got the name. He was described as having a "deep background", which some people decided would make the name of the recently released porn movie a good code name.
Of course, these days, there aren't many people who remember there even was an informant, if they remember anything about Watergate at all. There was a character named Deep Throat on "The X-Files" who was named after the informant, but that's literally the only other nonsexual reference to the term there is. I think the writers of the show might want to take that into account.
Wednesday is a flawed character and it is nice to see some growth in there. I hope through out the series she realizes that friends can be a source of strength.

Incorrect. She does blink. Tim Burton asked Jenna not to blink as much as possible. Other reactors caught her blinking.
Wednesday has always been a pyschopath. She tortures her brother for years with electrocution and many other deadly devices. Pugsley always took it like a true Adams champ. She's burried and killed people that tried to Hurt her family. Though the Adams always flirt with death anyways so no big difference there. To a normal relationship yes she is a bad friend. To an Adams the thought of causing misery IS normal.

The sheriff had it out for Gomez because he thought Gomez had gotten away with murder. I assume the reason Sheriff Galpin moved past his grudge was that he learned the full story of what happened, not only that the death was accidental, but that Garret's father was going to put him up to mass murder. When you learn that you've been THAT wrong, a sane person kind of has no choice but to let go of the grudge.

Enid's mother is clearly the alpha of the pack, which is why the father defers to her and remains silent. It took a lot of courage for Enid to stand up to her mother and reject her plans to send her to werewolf conversion camp, and her father recognised that which is why he spoke up at the end. Enid is a lot stronger than she realises (think of how she got fed up with Ajax being a dumb boy and not getting the hint, and made him "ask her out"), which suggests she may end up being the alpha of her pack.
The final two episodes are missing? Why?! I was enjoying this reaction

I love how, when you think about the actresses instead of the characters they impersonate, Jenna gets a blessing to do her thing and be her own Wednesday by CZJ here and by Christina before... they both obviously saw how great Jenna was interpreting the spirit of Wednesday and approved of it. Nice! She deserves it.
I feel like the reason Enid still likes Wednesday is because Enid is one of those people that tries to see the good in everyone, tries to make friends. She also has a bit of an issue of letting people walk all over her to some extent. But there’s also the small moments from Wednesday that had given her hope.
Such as:
- While almost entirely for Wednesday’s own gain, she gave Enid an opportunity to hang out with Ajax back in episode 3.
- Also in episode 3 Wednesday says “if he breaks your heart, I’ll nail gun his” showing that she has grown fond enough of Enid to threaten murder to the person who hurts Enid.
- In episode 2 she did help Enid win the Poe Cup, even if it was, again, mostly for Wednesday’s own gain.
- In episode 4 Wednesday is shown again to be a little protective of Enid when Enid’s date is one of the kids she’s beat up twice before because they were being a bully.
It’s not a lot by any ordinary means but coming from Wednesday it is all notable. Also, Wednesday, while intelligent doesn’t always understand social cues (there’s possibly some coding in there but I’m not up to snuff to actually get into it).
Wednesday is both the best friend you could ever have and a terrible friend and only terrible because she is just learning anything about social relationships outside her family but is loyal to a fault to any she considers a friend just as she is to her family.

100% yes. She is a terrible friend for putting her friends in danger. Not just danger but straight life and death situations. However, im sure many ppl out in the world would do that too. Maybe not to this extent but still. And being a bad friend kinda comes with just being a friend nowadays lol
In response to the title, that's a complicated question. It mostly depends on how one defines "friendship." If you are just going off of the fact that they share a room and therefore must be friends, then yes, Wednesday is a bad friend.
That being said, Wednesday has done nothing to make anyone think that she is "friends" with her roommate; not yet. also anyone who knows Wednesday a bit more in depth than THIS version knows that while she may be introverted and self involved, to those whom she DOES consider to be her friends, she is DEADLY loyal and even protective of.

It's everyone else's fault that they're sad around her and they would stop pursuing Wednesday they would be fine. Wednesday never asked or seek any of the attention. These people should just take into account the way she is and adjust or piss off. I have a friend with Asperger's and he could be an absolute pain in the ass to talk to but I know that's just the way he is so I just roll with it

I figured out who it was in the first episode because they used a type of CGI I've seen before and so when I saw his face I knew he was the "unidentified" monster. Though I was wrong about who was controlling him.

Why do all reactors have the volume of the show so low and the volume of their voice so high? If you turn it up to hear the show the sound of the reactor talking is deafening
Because youtube copyright algorithms get twitchy about it if too much of the audio is too close to the original, lowering the volume of the original relative to the volume of the reaction helps.

Wednesday has never gave Tyler a signal he just keeps being persistent and trying to be a part of something that she's not interested in.
