The views were also varied, we had good mountain views towards Scafell Pike etc and also views out over the Cumbrian coast towards the Isle Of Man. Thanks again ( and thanks for the sub!) Cheers. Thanks Leona/Chris. Appreciate the comments. We enjoyed this walk and were pleased the weather was ok. We were hoping to see Joss Naylor, but no such luck! We have watched the video when Chris met Joss Naylor with The Fat Boys. I have just started filming in 4K, it seems to make a difference. It takes a bit of time to edit due to the file sizes though. Thanks again for watching and commenting. Cheers. Eddie.

      Hi Mark, good to hear from you! Indeed I’m still alive and kicking - not been out much... It is channels like yours and +Eddies that help us, outdoorsmen, when grounded and can’t get out for one reason or another and this keeps our sanity and cabin fever at bay. Looking forward to catching up with comments on your vids shortly. What great memories we creators build on RUclips.! Stephen.

Can I ask you, where can I get a copy of your books? I would really like to read them. I think they would be a perfect read during the dark winter days! Cheers. Eddie

    • @billygoatfilms7531
      @billygoatfilms7531 6 лет назад +1

      Eddie Caisley : Re books, perfect reading for the long winter nights, you must be joking. My wife will testify that the four books are the worst piece of writing that’s ever been done! This may well be true but I only wrote them for myself, especially for when I’m in the Care Home and can look back on my adventures. Because they are so bad I’ve never charged anybody for them, I just ask people to give a few pounds to any Mountain Rescue Box should they ever be in the hills. The very first book ‘Travels With My Coffee Flask’ is with the printers at present as I’ve completely updated it and got rid of many annoying mistakes. I’m now in the process of updating the ‘Path Less Travelled’ book (this is I believe the best one out of the four). If you would like any or even all four please send me an address via email: costamike@icloud.com. But once again I have to warn you they are total rubbish. Cheers Eddie. Oh, one last thing, this latest film you made in 4K did you find during the editing process that it jumped about a lot? I made a 4K one last week at Dartmouth and found it missing audio at times and froze. However, when downloaded onto RUclips it came out perfectly.

    • @eddiecaisley5746
      @eddiecaisley5746  6 лет назад

      Hi Mike, I will send you an email for the books. I would like to read all 4 ( It's a long winter!!) but just send me what you can. I will pay postage if required. If you are coming up to the Lakes in the next month or so, I could even get the books when you come up. As for editing in 4K, I have previously used NERO Platinum 2018 editing software. The videos jumped about a lot when using NERO, but the final video was ok. I found this made the editing more difficult. I have just started using Powerdirector 16 Ultimate. My latest video was edited using Powerdirector. There was no jumping around while editing and I found it easier to work with. Powerdirector creates shadow files of each video clip in a lower resolution making it easier for editing, then reverts back to 4K for the final video.

    Thanks so much for taking me to Wastwater again. The music was a little too restless for me at the beginning, so I was glad it calmed down later on and I could focus on the beauty of the scenery and the great shots of you two enjoying what must have been a fantastic day. Hope you're out somewhere enjoying the bank holiday now, with or without camera! All the best ....

    • @eddiecaisley5746
      @eddiecaisley5746  5 лет назад +1

      Thanks Elizabeth. This was a another great day, we both enjoyed this walk. The music is quite difficult to get right sometimes, I have experimented with different styles of music. I agree with you that the focus should be on the scenery and not the music. I now try to have more relaxing background music in my videos which fits in with the scenery. Having a relaxing Bank Holiday as the weather is not too good! Thanks again for watching and commenting. Cheers. Eddie.

    Hi Eddie and Carol. Thanks for another fabulous and informative video. We!re heading over to Wasdale on Friday, camping at the NT Campsite there. The weather forecast is looking good, so we’re hoping to get 4 days of walking in. Will definitely do this route, although we may divert to Haycock as well. Loved your Illgill Head/Whin Rigg video too, and that walk is also on the list. Thanks again for taking the time to share your experiences. Happy walking,! All the best, Yvette and Mark

      Hi Yvette, thank you for the positive feedback on the videos, it is appreciated. Sounds like you have a great few days planned in Wasdale. The Illgill Head/Whin Rigg walk is one of my favourites, the views looking over Wast Water are superb. The Middle Fell walk is also superb and well worth doing. We are hoping to get over to Wasdale soon as Carol wants to do Yewbarrow. I have done Yewbarrow, but Carol still needs to do it. We were planning to go over to the Lakes this week ( Wed or Thurs) depending on the weather. Thanks again for watching & for the comments. Take care & Best Wishes to Mark & Yourself.

      @@eddiecaisley5746 Thanks for your reply Eddie. We also need to do Yewbarrow. We aimed to do it when we did Pillar, Scoat Fell, Steeple and Red Pike but the weather came in and we had to come down pdq at Dore Head (soooo steep!) Hope you manage to get there and have a lovely walk. All the best Yvette and Mark

    Hi Eddie and Carol. Hope you are well. Another FABULOUS video! Thank you so much for taking the time to make this - it’s appreciated so much. We did this walk a couple of weekends ago, but we did Middle Fell, Haycock, Caw Fell, Seatallan, Buckbarrow and then the Joss Naylor Cairn. So good. There was a fell running race that day (I think it was the UK Championships) and on the way up Haycock we met a lovely guy who was on his way up to photograph the event. He was telling us he is also the photographer for Joss Naylor’s latest book to be published later this year, and recounted some amazing stories about him. What a bonus that was! Did you make it to Wasdale? I think in one of your other comments you said you were hoping to get there soon. All the best, Yvette and Mark

      Hi Yvette, good to hear from you, we are both well, thanks. That sounds like a great walk you have done and what a bonus meeting the photographer for Joss Naylor's new book, that's amazing! We went over to Wasdale on Wednesday (30.6.21) and did Yewbarrow, Red Pike, Scoat Fell, Steeple & Haycock. It was a great day, although Yewbarrow was covered in clouds when we got to the top, so we did not get the views. The clouds cleared as the day went on. Thanks again for watching & taking the time to comment, it is appreciated. It is always good to hear how other peoples walks go. Take care & Best Wishes to Mark and yourself. Cheers. Eddie & Carol.

      @@eddiecaisley5746 Thanks for your reply. Realised I had already commented, goes to show how much I enjoyed your video!. Glad you were able to get back out to Wasdale again. That sounds like a good walk you did there too. Yewbarrow…..I put that one off this time. I’m really scared of heights and have got myself into a bit of a tizz about it in my head. I’ve seen your video on it (another fabulous day you had there) but it looks really exposed. Is it? I’ve done Striding Edge 3 times and wasn’t bothered, so maybe I’ll just have to get over myself and go for it. All the best, and keep on with your lovely films - they are so inspiring! @@eddiecaisley5746 thanks Eddie I always find the hardest part of the walk is getting parked. I need three, maybe four trips here to get finished. It's a long way around from the north east but I'm looking forward to it. May see you on a fat boys trip as I joined them for the first time last year. Thanks for info. Much appreciated.
