Sorry for blocking comments for so long, but there was some things going in the proxy world.
The site I used in this video, mpcautofill, no longer exists. There is a new site however that does the same thing, and can be found here: www.mpcfill.com
Thank you so much for giving us another site link. It's way too time consuming without this automated process.
I am having issues with the site. I try to put my list in but it just recycles the page when I hit ‘submit’
There's any difference in the resolution if I directly download the image on Scryfall or mpcfill has the same image resolution? BtW nice video!
If WotC won't make the game accessable, then we, the players, will!
Yeah, pretty much. It is unfortunate it has to come to that but you gotta play the hand you're given.
Couldn't agree more.
@@ProxyAcademyEh, 1st mulligan when you're going 2nd is basically free
Great video! I'm glad you talked about the bleed line, that was the only thing stopping me from making an order. Something I think everyone would appreciate is a video dedicated to showcasing the print quality of various templates found on the subreddit.
Yeah, I've seen a lot of people worry over the red bleed line so I made sure to bring it up. And the idea of brining up a few examples from stuff printed from various templates from the subreddit it good. I'll see what I got lying around (and what I'd need to order)
Super helpful vid! Just used it to order my custom vintage cube :)
A wonderful service for those of us proxying for the first time!
As someone who's been dipping my toes into proxying Magic cards for my Commander decks, this video was insanely helpful. Definitely my go-to way to do this now. Amazingly informative!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Godsend! I'm all for supporting a company that makes a good product, but when they become too greedy, it's time for an answer.
This is such an excellent guide, thank you very much!
you saved me HOURS of my life with this video, if I could like this video more than once I would undoubtedly.
Very informative, i like your calm attitude throughout the video, please keep uploading more videos.
Thank you, I will. I'm still kinda new to video production so it takes me quite some time to put one together, but I got more in the pipeline
thank you so much for this video. Definitely will be using this in the future for my next purchase of proxies updating my cube+commander decks.
Awesome! Glad it could be of help!
really good, well-structured and well-explained video
Thank you! Glad it can be of help
Thanks for making this. This Autofill site is amazing. I love all the different formats and card backs!
Yeah, that site is awesome! Glad you found it useful!
@@ProxyAcademy mine arrived today! They are great. ruclips.net/user/shorts_8Ndv0ssG_s
This was exactly the video I was looking for. Planning to order around 200 proxies for kitchen table EDH. You have helped me so much. Liked and subscribed. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful!
Great video. Really helped me out. Thank you for this!
Thanks for the walkthrough my dude. Liked and subbed.
Thanks friend :-) Glad you liked it!
Great guide!
Cool I’ve been looking to get a bunch of trail decks for friends to get them into the game and this looks like a great option to let them test out the tier one deck without spending thousands of dollars.
Amazing video thank you!!
Thanks so much for this!
No problems! Glad it can be of use!
I wanted to have a dockside extortionist, and now I’m going to have one. Thanks.
real
Great video!
Glad you enjoyed it
Amazing video! The only thing I'm missing is presenting how proxies look like in hand!
Yea, wierd we dont see that
A guy I play with has printed hundreds of proxies from this site and he uses this video and referred me to it. His proxies look amazing.
This was super helpful. Wizards killed off Kaijudo and never released physical versions of the last set. I have multiple playsets of the last set coming in for me and my friends who still play. I can't wait to finally hold them after almost 7 years of knowing they existed.
Awesome! Yeah, you should be able to print pretty much any kind of card game cards with this method. Be adviced though, if you plan on printing your own scans or so, MPC requires that you add an additional border around cards as cut-off margin. They so a good job covering it on the mpcproxies subreddit wiki: www.reddit.com/r/mpcproxies/wiki/index?
@@ProxyAcademy yeah. There was a guy in a group for the new Digimon TCG who printed out English proxies before we knew the game was being released over seas. I asked him to help with the borders if I gave him the scans. Got the confirmation that it shipped last night. I can't wait. I've been obsessing for days now XD
Thanks!
I have a Nylea-Keen Eyed mono green creature storm deck, and I wanted to add a few more expensive cards to it (ie craterhoof) and this is a nice way to do it. Thanks!
*without buying said expensive cards. I wasn't up for mowing every lawn in my neighbor hood to upgrade my deck.
Still works ! 2023 ❤
Thank you!
You're welcome!
This is a very informative and helpful video. I feel much better making a purchase from there now. Could you do a second video where you use mpcauto fills generate order to automate the process?
Glad it can be of use! I know it can be something of a hurdle to do the first order :-) And yeah, I plan on making a 2nd one covering the autofill and some of the tips and tricks around it.
Really appreciate the video and the Chapters
The cost of shipping is greater than the cost of the proxies for shipments in South America. I'd love to afford this method.
Thank you! you have a video showing the quality of the cards?
Can we have a video where you show the actual cards?
That music is great. What song it is?
The video very good as well.
Thank you, the website for ordering can be a bit intimidating. The shipping price seems a bit high, might be one of those things where it makes sense to do a big order vs a tiny order.
They ship from Hong Kong
yes, but a full edh deck just costed me only about $35 as opposed to $250 so im all for it lol
I’m building rashmi Ragavan and tivit teller of secrets both are pricey pricey. This process is worth my time and wallet
Thanks for the tutorial. Love the music. Track name?
Would love to see some content covering OOP games like Android: Netrunner.
Hm... this could be a bit tricky 'cause as far as I know, there are makers of MPC ready Netrunner proxies. But maybe a video on how to make a card MPC ready could do the trick, since it would more generally cover the "how do I make proxies of something else".
@@ProxyAcademy I was mostly thinking comparisons between MPC proxies and original cards. From what I've gathered the A:NR proxies are quite a ways behind the MTG ones in terms of how they measure up to the real deal. Then again, maybe there isn't the same incentive for Netrunner, since there aren't really any "rare" cards.
Thanks for showing us the Autofill site. Will save me hours from having to add a small border to the MTGscryfall images and then manually centering the cards on MPCs site (where I inevitably get 20-30% off centered).
Q: are the images from Autofill better or worse quality than the ones on MTGscryfall?
Glad you found it helpful! Autofill is generally better than scryfall scans. Many autofill images are upscaled using AI programs from TopazLabs, or re-created using original art and custom assets to increase resolution.
Great video! Wish I found this sooner.. I downloaded all of the image assets by hand and it was tedious! The song in the background is neat. Do you have a source by chance?
Oh wow, that must've take ages. Glad I can make your life easier!
And I'm not really sure where the song's from actually. I was just glad YT didn't flag it. I can get back to you if I manage to find what it is
HELP! other card games like digimon do not have the auto fill option. Will u do a video in how to do this with those cards. For me they always end up low resolution or chopped
That music is so relaxing, what is it called?
Did the prices like doubled since you made the video or I’m doing something wrong?
I've been making custom cards for my cube with artificer and no matter what I do, whether I upscale them or not, they don't fit the mold? Even if I use MTG cardsmith. Do you know anything about this.
Great Video if anyone has an answer if I want a printing from the mpcproxies subreddit can I just download and then upload that image or with the formatting be incorrect
This depends, unfortunately. If the card is uploaded with the proper bleed-edge (see www.makeplayingcards.com/pops/faq-photo.html). Bleed edge is also discussed on the subreddit's wiki (www.reddit.com/r/mpcproxies/wiki/index).
The easiest way to tell if it is printable is often to ask the poster or look if they say "mpc ready" somewhere in the title or in their comments.
What about double sided cards like the MDFC’s? Is there a way to select a card back for specific cards?
Yes, there is. On the 2nd step, when I chose "Same back for all cards", you can instead chose the alternative to have different card backs and then just set the same cardback to all cards, and the few MDFC you want to do. Setting cardbacks and cardfronts works exactly the same. Otherwise, I recommend looking up my other video on using the autofill tool, since it automatically manages MDFCs for you.
Great video, I found that with the help of a Facebook page, because I had to sell almost all my collection for family needs, and I wanted a cheap way to play with "real cards' that I could touch with my hands aha,
Do you think we can do all that on a Phone ?
I don't think this is doable via just phone, unfortunately. Since you gotta run the program, and I don't think is executable on an Android :( But I think as long as you can muster any kind of laptop or computer it would be enough, since the system requirements are super low. Best of luck!
I tried it for custom cards I made. It kept cutting off. Before I order. Cause I don't want to pay if it's not going to work right. I made them on magic set editor program.
Excellent video! I do have a question, when making proxies does the front need to explicitly say proxy on it or can I just use the art that the original card uses?
It doesn’t matter cause the backs are gonna be different from the original and they don’t have the foil stamps
@@tonymorgan8671 Do you think mpc would have an issue with double sided cards at all? I assume they would but I'm hoping not.
@@LaBarofSoap It's not a problem
did u need to adjust the brightness at all?
Whats the name of the background music? So chill
What about the thick type? Does the thick paper emulate a Pokémon type card?
Looks like they changed it so you can no longer upload your own file for cardbacks?
Want to see quality compare
Certainly! I'll make a video on it in the near future, showing a few different DPI prints, and comparing them to actual cards too. Good call!
@@ProxyAcademyperfect
what finish do you recommend for holographic finishes on MPC?
So all quantity means is how many orders you want of a specific list.
I was trying to wrap my head around the juxtaposition of those numbers for a solid 3-4 minutes. Thanks for simplifying it in such a concise way.
I'm the process of making a commander cube for my friends. How good is the quality of the proxies? Will we have a tough time reading the text?
It's good quality, you won't have any trouble ad long as the image is above 300 dpi
They are really good, s33 feels the most like a magic card but is a bit more expensive. S30 is thinner and easier to distinguish. The foil option is also nice but I would recommend adding at 15 percent satiation to them.
Have you ever tried the holographic option, do you know how they come out?
No, I have never tried it myself. I've seen it a few times when people have posted videos of it on r/mpcproxies, but I don't know how they come out IRL :-(
Mpc fill is not working is there an alternative?
hi, how is the holographic oval sticker handled?
Nevermind I see now they're altered slightly to not have it
- Use Photo Paper A4
- Copy and paste mtg hd cards
- resize it at 3.39 inches in all 9 block
- Print in High Quality Colored setup
- Just cut them with Scissors
Enjoy :3
You aren't wrong! That is definitely also an alternative, and a cheap and fast one too (given that you got the proper printer).
so real quick question but if some of the text is outside the red box that means it would be cut out of the poxy when they print it correct?
Correct, my best solution is to manually edit the card to make it fit
what would you recommend for the edit as there isnt a way on the site@@MoMoVsMTG
How much would it cost to make a Edh deck?
how do you make the cards foil? I see the option in the autofill website but I don't see the option on the actual order
It is under the print type option on the order page!
@@machine_hell What option would it be from the dropdown? Would it be Holographic Front?
@@HotShot8723did you ever figure this out
How do these feel compared to real cards? Similar?
Hey guys! Does anyone know what the delivery to Europe is like please? Or a good proxy place for Europe please:) thankyou!
18 business days is roughly a month.
Does this work for making Yugioh proxies? It'd be great for making some custom cards.
The same principle should apply. Be aware though that the site I use for sourcing proxy images does not have any Yugioh cards, as far as I know. But with some work you could probably make the proxy images yourself and print those. Just be aware that MPC requires you to add some extra border around the cards you intend to print, for additional printing margin. You can read about the additional margin here: www.reddit.com/r/mpcproxies/wiki/index#wiki_image_formatting_guide
@@ProxyAcademy Thanks I'll look into it.
Is that MapleStory music?
What if I want a historic version of a card?
5:10 mpcfill has plenty of variants to choose from.
Haters gonna hate
song name?
I want to print my own proxies on a piece of paper and stick it on top of real cards. Are there ways to automatically crop the border margins on MPC-ready images?
Not of the top of my head, but you could maybe look into the GNU GIMP Batch tool for something like that
What we dont see the result 🤔
What's the background music? It reminds me of something
Winning post, horse racing game
thanks @@omino12
but what track? cant find it
Someone traded me a proxy and was very sad when I realized 😭
I lost a misprint sol ring :(
Oh wow, that sucks! I think it is important to distinguish between proxies and counterfeits, where the former is obvious and the later is intended to fool the observer. I do not support counterfeits, and I am super sorry to hear this happened to you :-(
My first order attempt got flagged for copyrighted design. It was the plain yugioh back because I thought it would be hilarious. But learn from my mistake and do NOT use the lifelike card backs, because your order will get flagged and MPC takes ~ 24h+ to respond to your support ticket emails. lol cucked
This does not show you how to Print Proxies. This is how to ORDER Proxies.
New to magic, why dont more people use this instead? Is it that unpopular?
Because people want to support wizards but don’t have the money to. People who do (mostly adults) are able to and choose to because they’re making the game they love.
Like he mentioned, you can't use them in sanctioned events. So you either can use them for casual play, commander, and for your cube. Usually people only proxy the expensive cards since LGS won't be able to make a sale regardless.
Can't use proxies in fnm lol
So we got to see everything except the important part... The product and How the cards turned out! that would have made for a more useful video rather than just showing us all how to use a website....
Custom back is awful.
Too often I've seen players trade real cards for realistic looking proxies. People bring their cards into the store to sell or trade, and I hate telling them that those supposedly expensive cards that they traded someone for are fakes.
Mtg is actually pay to win, I end up using proxy in the tournament and man it felt bad ended 2 place mostly likely the other play played with proxies, I drop out to prove my point
