A couple notes - 1. MPC's maximum print quality is 800 dpi. Any files over that will be downsized to 800 dpi at the time of printing and as such it should not be a detriment to you to use the mpcfill software to do the downsizing for you and should save you some time on the upload. 2. The bulk discounts listed at the end of the video are only pertinent if you order multiples of the same exact deck list. For magic players looking to utilize MPC to print multiple proxy decks the best practice is to decide how many decks you want and then select the largest "deck size" offered to cover that number of cards. EX. If you wanted to order 6 100 card commander decks you would want to choose the largest deck size they offer (612 cards). This would cover all 6 of your decks and allow you 12 extra cards you can fill in for extras or tokens. You will not save any money by not filling in the extra card size as they are charging you for full sheets, not individual cards. Once you are ordering over 612 you will need to figure out what combination of 612 and an additional deck size will match your desired card volume without going too far over.
Wow, thanks for the info @Willie, you rock! It would certainly save some bandwidth during the upload to downgrade to the 800DPI before uploading to MPC. My pod was joking about using ALL the same deck and this might be a way to do that and than have some give-a-ways! SUCH a cool site, it's helped me and my friends play and enjoy the game so much more than ever before!
Thanks a ton, br0ther! This will help me make an "all old border" kitchen table deck I'm brewing. It's going to be a group hug EDH deck that has no win cons, only helps other players. I intend to use it for players with zero magic experience to play as our "5th player" to accelerate games. They will be the "DM" of the game and can ally with players to protect them with fogs and enchantments and bounce permanents back to the hands of players who are getting too cocky. 0.000000001% chance of winning with it, but it will be fun for everyone, I think.
That's awesome! You should also try our commander raids format for introducing new players. It's a player versus monster format and is a great way for new and old players to just relax and play versus a monster.
@@Cardboard_Odysseys Sounds awesome! I'll check that out. And full disclosure, when I say "players with zero experience" I'm mainly referring to my girlfriend who has been really resistant to me teaching her how to play because she doesn't like feeling like she's so bad that she gets coddled or, inversely, immediately killed. So this is my ace in the hole when she turns down the session in the future. Also, she loves the color purple and what better commander than Phelddagrif, the purple hippo with wings! After all, who's going to kill the gal drawing them cards, pumping their creatures, gaining them life, and giving them hippos!? Not me!
Also, since this deck will generate near zero threat, it kinda solves that problem when teaching someone to play where they have to ask you about how their cards work and when they can be played - which inevitably leads to another player having to look at their hand. It really doesn't matter if someone sees your hand, because it's all to the benefit of the other players!
@Cardboard_Odysseys it was most helpful I ordered my bears deck today and I'm excited I'm gonna buy the real cards but I want to play the deck in the mean time
someone once told me that it is against wizards of the cursed policy to buy proxies. but, I see this as a pretty common occurrence, especially on eBay. I would even say, I like the look of the custom art cards AKA proxies far more.
Any tips for trying to print specific token cards? I have a deck that needs 20 different types of tokens (I know, it's a little over the top for token generation), and I'm having difficulty trying to export token art to MPCfill. I tried to export them the same way as normal cards but only 2 of the tokens were recognized. Am I doing something wrong, or perhaps no art exists for many tokens at all and I'm out of luck? Any help would be appreciated, thanks.
Tokens are always a bit of a wild card that I havnt messed with yet. I would join the discord of the creators of mpc and see if anyone can help you out there. discord.gg/magicproxies
Everything went through correctly and without a problem. Got to the payment status and it wouldn't accept any of my cards. Tried 3 different ones, double checking that I'm entering everything right. Just kept saying there was a problem.
Maybe they were having trouble with their payment system when you tried to check out. I'd try again in a bit and if it still fails open a support ticket.
Yeah, my (matt) first few orders were manual and it wasn't that bad and honestly is sometimes faster manually. Pat is the only one who has used the program to add a deck.
The red line is where the border of the card would be. The art past the red line may be cut off but in my experience anything from mpc auto fill works without issue.
It was actually done as part of the conversion from MPCfill to Makeplayingcards. If you ever find that they don't line up correctly just check the card number when your doing the backs and you can manually add it.
I havnt experienced that issue so I would check with the creator of the software or other fellows users at their discord. discord.com/invite/magicproxies
One very important question: How can I change the language of the cards? Within the filler tool, I can search specifically for cards of other languages. But the tool then never finds anything. Could you help me out with this?
Unfortunately we cannot help with that directly because we aren't the creator of the tool. If you join this discord they are the creators and they should be able to help you out. discord.gg/magicproxies if I had to take a guess it would depend on the art being made for the specific language you are looking for but if you see nothing that either means none exist for that language or something isn't right.
@@Cardboard_Odysseysthanks for the feedback. I joined their Discord and asked my question there. I'll write another comment here, once I figured it out.
Ive been trying to do this for a bit but because im trying it on a mac it isn’t working. Im not getting something like a "autofill-Windows.exe" for mac. Im getting a file with a bunch of text. do you or anyone know to to get this working for Mac?
I would check out their discord and see if they can help. I personally wouldn't know where to begin with a Mac, I only know PC. discord.gg/magicproxies
I am running into an issue where The autofill software is showing "State: Defining Order, Action: Awaiting user input" but I dont know what input it wants!!!
Unfortunately I havnt experienced that issue and that would be more of a question for the software developer. I believe they have a discord that you can join and ask questions. discord.com/invite/magicproxies
Hmm, make sure you are downloading the right version for your computer and also check whatever antivirus you might have that could be blocking it. Since it's not a Microsoft trusted program it could be getting blocked. If neither of those work I'd try joining their discord and ask for help there.
When i run the software and it accepts the xml file, it opens chrome but gets stuck there “not secure data;” is there something i should be doing in my browser to avoid this so i can proxy the deck?
Is it a Mac? Quick googling suggests people have had some issues. I would begin to know how to fix them on a mac. If on PC make sure you are using the most up to date version of chrome. You also could always go the manual route and upload each image manually to make playing cards. Certainly more work but if you can't get it to work not all is lost at least. Pat has another video on the channel that covers the manual route.

It must be how you are pasting the decklist. How are you getting the decklist? If it's from midfield use the export as mtgo format which is plain text formatting.
At this point I'm convinced it's absolutely impossible to make these proxies. Everything I try after viewing these types of videos fail spectacularly so I guess I'm the only person on the planet who'd be unable to play these

It is against policy to use them in official sanctioned events but there is nothing they can do outside of that. 100% free reign anywhere else.
WotC tried to sell us Beta proxies for $250/pack. As far as I'm concerned, that greenlit me to use proxies in my games.

When you upload cards on the website they have the cut red line insode the card. Are theh gonna be fine once printes or theyll be cutted as well?

Hey ty for the info! Now, if say I want 20 more of something in addition to my 60 card deck, can I still use moxfield or does it limit you?
It shouldn't limit you at all
I had heard MPC had a policy of not printing cards with WotC iconography. Is that not true?
It's really ONLY the back of MTG cards they won't print. Outside of that, I've never had any issues.
@@Cardboard_OdysseysOk, thanks for letting me know. I'll consider giving them a try the next time I need to print a batch of proxies.

honestly magic is so cool cause u can just go to your lgs and play commander with proxies amazin
Most LGSs will allow proxies but not all. Just always make sure it's ok with the store and players first.
I tried doing this last night using the other video you made before this one. Is there a new system?

Is there a way to use ur own image?
Not in any easy way, I believe that if you used a card maker site like MTGCardSmith and than used that during the last step as a manual upload.
I'm gonna become utterly insane, I can't seem to understand/find how to upload custom artworks on MPC 😥
