If you have to purchase proxy Lightning Greaves, you probably shouldn't be "investing" in Magic.
Gotta agree, lightning greaves is like. $6-$7 card, so you gonna pay $1 for a fake instead of paying $6 for the real thing, seems to be some really odd choices of cards to proxy

Funny you showcased this. I bought some packs for giggles two weeks ago. Was thinking of filling my commander proxies. In my packs I popped a black lotus, pearl mox, geas cradle, and a bunch of other goodies was quite pleased and will be ordering more personal makes. 100 cards for 75 cents a card. For sure 👍🏻
Fun fact, Black lotus is also a liiiiitle rare in thesed packs. Good job on your pulls!

I went to Virginia Beach back in July around the time Double Masters 2022 was released. The store is called Comic Kings and I bought the last draft box they had available. Pulled an Imperial Seal foil, great times indeed.
I would be in this store for hours trading with the owner Pokémon in 98. We both built a set full together basically. I probably was one of the main contributors to those cards in his stop.
How can he possibly have the rights to the artwork?
I think it's good that proxies are instantly noticeable, ideally I'd prefer that they have completely different backs so no one gets ripped off accidentally in a trade. In the future/ already proxies will be completely unrecognisable without a magnifying glass.
The MTG Proxy opening starts at like 5:10.
Ok just to be a small bit frank printing mtg is basically a scam for 100 cards for 100 dollars is outrages when the guy uses mpc which we all can use to print these and you can do it yourselves and get 612 cards made for 30 dollars and you can tell he uses mtgautofill to make the backs and art I can make these exact same proxies and get 612 for 30 do not pay 100 dollars for proxies you can make yourself on MPC

Proxies are cool but now when they use other artists work without permission. Proxies with custom artwork is the way to go
agreed. They are making money off of WoTC property. I mean, right now, WoTC would see them as just promotion for the real thing. If they start making good money, Hasbro will drop the ban hammer, no question.
I like where your head is at, but WotC has already been using art on cards without the artist's permission. Illustrators get paid up front per card on a work-for-hire basis. WotC owns the art on a contract basis. They don't pay royalties anymore, but there may be a few that still get it. I believe artists own the original painting, but the use is limited by WotC and Hasbro. Promotional etc. I much prefer to not support a multi-million dollar corporation and buy proxies instead. 😊 Please feel free to support your favorite artists via their Kickstarter projects or other original works.
You also have the option to choose alt art or custom arts when ordering :)
@@PlasmaTheBlue Id need to see examples of where WoTC has stolen art. Especially for a large corporation like Hasbro/Wotc. If the artist is in no way under contract and not associated with WoTC, the company cant just use their art without paying them. It would be a clear and easy lawsuit for the artist to pursue and win. Now if the artist is under contract and WoTC contract states they have ownership over any art they make while employed, while that is scummy, the artist should know what they are signing and wait to post art until their contact is over. Ive been in the game/ film industry for over 15 years and worked with Disney where their contracts essentially give them ownership over anything you make they own the art for all eternity. Im not saying I agree with the contract terms but there are ones out there that give the company ownership of an artists creativity.

Huge fan of MTGproxy - high quality, and they also offer the ability to upload your own custom cards. I use them primarily for tokens and duals, as I don't like to travel with mine.

Unless people printing and selling proxies are paying for the art, or buying new art, I do not support them. It is theft.
A proxy is you printing it for yourself. The minute you sell those proxies, you are stealing.
And I’d like to add that the cards and their text, gameplay, mechanics, is also an intellectual property and even with different paid for art should not be printed and sold by anyone else, except for WotC.
If you make a proxy for yourself at home. Whatever. Like downloading music or pirating movies, no one will bother looking for you. But, the minute you start selling it, you are crossing the line big time. These proxy makers should cease their operations before WotC lawyers come knocking.

@Joshua Lynn honestly you don't need to spend 1000s to play mtg I have built edh decks that can stand tall with 1000 dollar decks under a 100 dollar budget
