You have done a good job. After 20 years in the army I never rolled one. And they do float. I have rowed them down many a river. Strapped Jerry cans on the outside. We called them a 1 ton trailer. I also daisy chained 6 of them together. Well done
Water is one thing - that bloody fine bulldust is another ! A good trip will show up any weaknesses , take some spare tools and straps and have fun breaking her in 🤠
As a No5 trailer owner and user, I can say brakes and shocks are game changers. Please do both. I just used oem hilux shock out of the bin at my local peders dealer. They were pretty new at the time.
As the owner of a 6 by 4 camper trailer, yours is good. I took a standard 6 by 4 trailer, had a canopy made for it, added King Quiky Rooftop tent and a set of 4 by 4 drawers. I have a 120 amp battery and 40 litres of water in 4 plastic cans. But I like yours. Happy camping. You never know, we just might meet up one day.
because that's a landrover trailer it has a fixed lunette eye and the land rovers have a rotating pintle hook which is other way around to normal. normally you have a fixed pintle hook and a rotating lunette eye. the way you're setup both are fixed which won't be an issue unless you get the trailer on a steep enough side angle to bind the hitch, or worse case you roll the tralier and it tips the nissan as well or just breaks the trailer or tow bar.
This has been bloody good to watch mate. Great to see someone just havin a go without a $200 000 budget. Just grabbed a couple shirts to help out legend!
Here I was pondering on doing a camper trailer out of a hilux tub and you pop up on you tube with this!?!? Must be a sign lol, can’t wait to see what’s next 👍🇦🇺
Nice effort mate , I probably would have went a different way with the hitch , I can see circumstances where that is going to drive you utterly nuts banging around. Longer draw bar does make them nicer too tow , I’ve built and rebuilt a few trailers over the years and all of them I extended the draw bar a tad , On my caravan too , my last trip with the big old rechassised caravan it towed like it was on a laser beam for 5000 K’s , I also replaced the old brakes with nice new hydraulic brakes , ( electric would have been nice too) , so much nicer to have good trailer brakes , did you end up fitting brakes ?
Just found your channel. Love it. This trailer is awesome. I love it. I have a new (well new to me but second hand) Suzuki Grand Vitara. It’s my daily drive but weekend warrior. Can’t wait to do more off-road stuff. Have done a couple of beach drives and fire roads of our local national parks.
Looks fantastic Tom I’m very impressed with the finish product only thing I probably would do is change the tow hitch on it and probably do brakes on it
well certainly a big difference than the Army trailer, i have towed the basic trailer quite a lot many years ago. just watch the body roll on rough terrain as they will go over! a lithium battery will save you a few kg as well. great build well done..
Gr8 job mate, love the build & series. I have never had electric brakes, but I guess they would help control a lot better in slow, steep 4wd decent type scenario’s. Good vids. Cheers
Awesome job mate. I would definitely get brakes for it as legally it's only allowed to be 750kg fully loaded and if you get pulled over and weighed you'll be up shit creek. But the thing looks tough AF.
my caravan that sleeps 6 fullly loded with off grid and three mountain bikes and 80 lt water two 9kg gas bottles is only 750 kg not having a dig just saying keep the vids comening
Is it true that coal is for sale?! I saw it on Facebook market place for sale. Such an awesome build. Trailer turned out perfect and looks wicked behind coal.
Fully sick bro💪🤙🇦🇺. Well done mate looks so good. Been working on my trailer lately can’t wait to get it all workin. Go the brakes mate they make a heap of a difference. Little expensive to set up though.
heyyy - i followed you on this one with every episode.. and yes, youve done well.. looking at you from all the way in the caribbean... awesome build series bro !!
also u could probably do with a bigger tow ball size as the hitch is supposed to cover the ring of the pintle so it can't really move outside of the ball .
Sweet bro. Might as well throw some tie downs or rail on the lid so you can strap things to the top of it between the tent. Great project, when the white Ute getting a make over? 👌
The trailer looks good dude. I’d be more concerned about dust getting through all your shit with that back seal Unless you goin deep water crossing then it might be a muddy concern

It's crazy how quick weight adds up. Looking forward to the next video series installing brakes and upgrading the capacity! :p
Spoiler alert
For Americans: Weight is roughly 1550 lbs. Which is super light. My full size camper weighs over 7,000 pounds.

Congratulations. It awesome. Keep up the great craftsmanship and hard work my friend.
Love the trailer. Not a fan of the hitch.
So happy with the finished product. 😍

That's a cool looking ute too, mate. The cops in WA give us yellow stickers (unroadworthy) if the tyres extend beyond the flares. It sucks...
Awesome to see it fully complete and the content to come with it. Keep up the great work on the channel! 👌🏼

should try some of that spray on ceramic spray might help the trailer with water
I was surprised how heavy it is considering my MDC 2012 camper is unbraked from the factory. Makes me think I need to weigh it and get it braked

Nice work on the extra leg. The whole setup is Schmick. Great work!
very good your videos. I'm building a camper and the information is very important.

Looks sick brah, chuck some of that foam seal between the tailgate and that classy table

Great looking rig !
Good stuff. Just for clarity it's a pintle hook and lunette ring. But you can call it a donut if you want 😉
That is an awesome bit of kit mate! Looking forward to more builds 👍
You should make your own camper company because what you’ve made is world class 🔥
The hard Yakka paid off. Great job mate 👍
Thanks mate!
hey what brand is your front box thank you looks great
Doing the same to mine at the moment. What did you paint it with?
Amazing achievement mate, you should be super-proud. Can't wait to see what you have for us next!

This man setting standards! Love the build mate !
Yo, cheers legend! 🤘🤘
@@RoamLyfe anytime mate, you put a lot into it! Incredible build
Gr8 job mate, love the build & series. I have never had electric brakes, but I guess they would help control a lot better in slow, steep 4wd decent type scenario’s. Good vids. Cheers
you should move the trailer spare tyre to coal and free up some extra weight on the trailer 👌
Your Trailer looks like a dream! Just curious what was the build budget?
If it was me, id put the tent under the frame and use that frame for a boat loader for a tinnie or kayaks or bikes 🤷♂️ thats imo
Well done!
Looks mint man, great job.
Super tare! 👍👍 Un gând bun din Dristor DC! România! 👍👍
Why don’t you look for a treg hitch on market place. You can pick them up pretty cheap on there.
Look 👀 out big red lol

This camper build has been awesome mate!
Excellent love your trailer
Great job on the trailer👍I’d be changing that hitch though.
Would be cool if you got a custom half canopy
Looks mad!. Good job🤙🇦🇺

Love the build where did you get the toolbox?
Thought the lead looked too short
620kg
Ad during your video was McHitch auto Coupling System from Lithgow. Looks great
I seen those mchitches not badly priced too!
@@RoamLyfe 👍
mate you gotta swap those wheels for the same as you have on your car. Then it will be a matched combo!
Congratulations mate it’s definitely been an exciting build to watch. now get out there and enjoy it you and the family deserve it bud 🍻
Far out what an awesome series, looks bloody perfect 👍

What’s the measurement from the ground to the top of the rear door. I’m looking at doing something similar but with a lift off canopy
Love all the videos mate 🤟🏽 keep it up!
Hi mate. Absolutely brilliant job, you should be proud of yourself. Give Diesel a pat for me.....!!!!!
Thanks Malcolm! Appreciate that mate!
Love the trailer, just wondering I saw coal and the bus up for sale on market place was wondering what was going on
Maybe they saw the light & are buying 80 Series
Fully sick bro💪🤙🇦🇺. Well done mate looks so good. Been working on my trailer lately can’t wait to get it all workin. Go the brakes mate they make a heap of a difference. Little expensive to set up though.
Thanks mate!! They are super expensive but I reckon it needs them hey!
Very nice, how much did the build cost all up ?
Hi there, new to the chanel, nice diy's. What wheels ( rims ) are you running on the ute and trailer ?
Check out Mchitch auto coupler the military use it as well
Thank you!! I’ll check them out!
heyyy - i followed you on this one with every episode.. and yes, youve done well.. looking at you from all the way in the caribbean... awesome build series bro !!
Congrats well done!!
Thanks legend!
Why you selling the car? I saw you listed it on Facebook marketplace
Looks awesome mate.
But don’t loose that pin that holds your hitch down.
Looking forward to the next build 👍🏽
Looks awesome, great setup, would love to have a camper like that for our trips away 🇳🇿
How much did the trailer cost all up?
looks like u need a gen y hitch to lower the draw bar height and angle so u got correct tow ball weight . looks great tho ! still watching!
also imo ur hitch receiver toungue is too long and has too much wobble play in it ..
also u could probably do with a bigger tow ball size as the hitch is supposed to cover the ring of the pintle so it can't really move outside of the ball .
yeah weight is very reasonable for what you have .
looks sick ! overall ! have to go take it camping soon !
you need to talk about cost and insurance valve etc next video . well done congrats on ur build
weird question but if its for the family, were is ther baby gonna sit to go on trips if you take coal?
Family car inbound haha
Really enjoyed this series mate. It’s inspired my daughter and I to start building something similar together 👍🏻
Loved this series keep it up brother
Thanks mate!!
man is the ute sold? i saw it for sale. what the reason for selling it?
Mate, with the price of diesel what it is right now that heavy pull up the road made my eyes water!
Trailer looks smick 👍
Thanks mate!!
Looks great, job well done 👌
Hey mate i loved how u make this and it inspired me to start planning out my own kinda camping rig, how much did this all cost you? Cheers
Thanks mate! Was around about 6-7k 🙌
Sweet bro. Might as well throw some tie downs or rail on the lid so you can strap things to the top of it between the tent. Great project, when the white Ute getting a make over? 👌
Yeah great idea!! Thank you!
Looks so good
Thanks Rhys!

Fkn ya. That's one bad a** trailer. Cool👍
The trailer looks good dude. I’d be more concerned about dust getting through all your shit with that back seal Unless you goin deep water crossing then it might be a muddy concern
Nice job mate, good to see it finished!
