    Merciful hour Sharon! I have exactly the same hair texture as yours: fine, wavy and long and this is the most effective hair cutting and styling video I have EVER seen. I have after much trial and error almost perfected a similar cutting technique as yours but yours is much more simple and effective, and gives a straight line at the back. As for the rollers, I have never known how to place them before to create styled waves. Now I do! Also actually seeing how you do your back combing is a revelation. I gave up on my lovely hairdresser a few years ago as she kept cutting my thinning hair too short. A big thank you from Dublin. :D

    Thank you! I enjoyed watching you cut your hair. I cut my hair about 3 days ago, and once my hair starts to get in my way I have to get out my sissors, but also I have to be in the right mood 😉 because it takes me a while to cut my hair. I've been cutting my long hair for years now, and because my hair is so long I take breaks, so I take my time to be sure I know that I am cutting my hair where I want it cut, or what angle I am looking for, and I check and recheck as I cut because I don't want to make any mistakes. You did pretty much same as I do except my hair is long and thin, so this time did it a little different by framing the cut around my face with a little layering, and I did good! I love it! and this also took some of the weight off that was making my hair look thinner, so now I have a little more body 😀 I have saved myself a ton of money by doing my own hair now for over 20 years, and started when my boys were little because I couldn't afford to pay a hair dresser and I felt I did a better job than they were doing lol Thanks again for sharing, and I love all your video's. I am 62 going on 63 this Dec and I love my graying hair, and don't plan to ever color my grays. You are a beautiful lady and so happy you share all your knowledge with us ladies. I have learned a lot from watching you, and as I age along with you, you have helped me to look and feel better about myself ❤️

    I love the way you do yr bangs. The rest too but particularly yr bangs. Also liked your combing further behind the ear.
    I tend to get "midnight-cut-itis" w the scissors and HAVE to cut my bangs or top or back of my hair when it feels too long. Somehow, it works. I'm glad you're encouraging others to cut their hair. Even if you make a mistake, it does grow back. And, Heaven knows, hairdressers have made sooo many mistakes w my hair. Often, I've come home and recut to fix it.

    Actually tried to do the same undercut thing 2 days, ago, but decided I was trying to cut in baby hairs, same principle as I have a huge forehead apparently that gets commented on more than I like. But I wasn't brave enough to take as much off under there as you have. Also, your lippy here is a little lighter, and God forbid I will tell you in like it more than your dark burgundy shades on you. I know you prefer a dark lip. Anyway, this is a pioneer woman's cut I think I'll call it, that youve shown us today and it's great.

    Three years ago a stylist said she was trimming fine hairs on the back of my head.......... I heard a zzzzz and the razor went right up the back, have not been to a stylist since. My hair is identical to yours and I love the video as I myself cut my own hair almost identical to your method, including the thinning shears. My issue now is that my "hairstyle" is a pony tail as my hair down looks awful on me and I have no idea what to do. I want it long but cannot do much, or I cut it short , a style I had to have all my life owing to its curliness and frizzyness , its a problem.

    • @twominutetips
      @twominutetips  4 года назад +3

      Well Cathy Cathy - I hear you. Certainly keeping it trimmed keeps it healthier looking and appears thicker. Find a length that looks good for you. At this stage I find you can certainly have long hair but it needs to be a shorter version of long. And a classic longish bob with soft face framing layers suits just about everyone.

  • @IvyRoad
    @IvyRoad 4 года назад +3

    Thanks for this! I have been cutting my own hair for decades, but I have pulled more hair from the sides to do the face framing which creates layers in the back in a way I no longer want them. Thanks to you, I will now take only the hair to the curve of my ear. Re the "problem spots" with less hair: I have them too, and have been using Rogaine to good effect. If you only use it on the temple area, and across the front, it lasts twice as long as advertised. I'm sure we must know some of the same people. Does "Yuppies the Musical" mean anything to you? ;0)

    Interesting!!
    Are you a side sleeper? What kind of rollers did you have on each side, were those foam rollers? How did you hold them in? When I use foam rollers there I always get a line due to the closing rod. So I have to use a curling iron on that part in the morning! Anyway, this was brilliant!! So glad your arm/shoulder is better!!

    • @twominutetips
      @twominutetips  4 года назад +1

      I use a roller pin on foam rollers underneath grabbing both the hair on the roller and at the scalp and run it along the length of the roller. Voila - no marks.

    • @l-annfvrsa
      @l-annfvrsa 4 года назад +1

      I dont know how you do it. I have never been able to sleep with rollers and I've tried them all. I air dry my hair almost completely and then roll it. I walk around the warm house and once it feels completely dry which doesn't take long I just remove and style. If I am in a rush I use the cooler setting on my hairdryer. I don't blowdry my hsir too often, and I also put on a leave in conditioner which is great for my hair issues. A spray of silca on special occasions makes it look shiny and sleek 💕

    That was a great video. I just cut my hair (a wee bit) today. I used to cut it myself all the time when I was younger. I haven't colored my hair since Oct '18 and haven't had a professional cut since mid Jan of this year. I've always like my haircuts better than salon cuts. Like you said, I go by "feel".

    I was just on FB and an automatic video ad came on from Lightmaroon company and you were in the video. Just wanted to make you aware in case you didn't know. Hopefully your video wasn't pirated and you are being sponsored, but wanted to let you know.

      Thank you Christine Izzo - it WAS pirated and I'm NOT being paid anything. Given the extensive energy to go after these pirates, I've long lived with this "you gotta know when to hold, fold, walk & stay", and given my experience with the corrupt legal systems, I'm loathe to do anything about it, especially when we have some very serious issues in society to be attended. But I thank you for your concern.

    Congratulations on your confidence...I am the old school I do not like to see a mature woman with hair so long. A bob makes my fien hair loo so much fuller.

      Thanks Carolanne Titmus - times have changed and when hair is well styled and healthy AND it suits the person architecturally, any age can wear long hair now.

      Carolanne Titmus so tell me what you really think. Hahaha Perhaps working on your “disapproval skills” would be time well spent.
