- Hello, i am Justin Ackerman in this video i show you guys how to make any car pop or backfire without any sort of tune on it. There is a few ways to go about doing it, and i explain and show how to do each of them. I hope you enjoy.

Hydroplaned my suppose to be trade in for my 86 on the H way. Came out with just a overly scuffed bumper & broken ACC sensor. Then broke my foot like a week later lmfao. Keep the videos comin 😄🔥🔥🔥 cant wait to see what next year brings even though we’re over halfway through this one

Hey bro which one look more cooler the first gen 86 or the second Gen 86
Wassup fam, it’s funny you ask that because a few years ago I was gonna get a first gen before there was any talk of a new generation that was suppose to come out. I’ve always had a soft spot for the first gen, I feel it looks a lot more like an actual race car when done up correctly. I haven’t seen to much yet for the new gen 2s, so as of right now fits gen probably take, but I’ll always love my 86 more than any other 🤷♂️😅. Thanks for watching homie 🤝💙

I actually haven’t done that yet on the car, departing about doing it before I throw headers on to see what kind of difference it would make with just the Catback exhaust being on there. Thanks for watching the video fam, hope you could enjoy it 🤝💙

You can get a full catback exhaust on these things without a tune? Is that right? I have a 2015 wrx and you gotta get a tune if you go full exhaust
Wassup fam, yeah these cars come N/A and throwing a Catback on it doesn’t require a tune. I have Catless headers on the car now which normally requires a tune, but I have a defouler installed on the headers so it doesn’t throw a check engine light. Hope this could help, thanks for watching 🤝💙

Tbh holding the clutch in and revving the car probably isn’t the best, but as long as you don’t do it too much you shouldn’t have any problems. Thanks for watching the video fam 👏💙

Hmm, that interesting to hear. I will definitely look into that and see what I can do to hopefully make it better. is it possible for an auto to rev their car in motion like that since we dont have a clutch ?
I honestly am not to sure, I know with more of an aftermarket exhaust than just a Catback will allow these things to pop and backfire even being an automatic. Or if you are really trying to get those backfire and burbles you could always throw a tune on the car. I know a few companies have made ECUTEK kits for it, i for sure will be getting a tune once I put headers on my car. Thanks for watching the video fam 🤝💙
@@Justinackerman_ what kind of exhaust are you running cause right now im using a hks catback spec L for mine and i love it but maybe later on im planning on changing it because im looking for something a little bit louder with not as much drone but i also want the backfires
@@cloudd012 currently the car has an AWE Track Catback for an exhaust. For being just a Catback it certainly is damn loud 😅 and I loud every bit of it. Planning to put catless UEL headers on the car some day soon. So I guess you can say I like my cars pretty loud 😂 Although if it’s like way to obnoxious when i do that, the good thing about the AWE is that you can switch the axelback out from no mufflers that I currently have, to a 2 muffler setup if I wanted too. Hope this info could help in any way 🤝

Certain aspects of this you would be able to do in an automatic. Obviously the way when I hold the clutch in a rev it you wouldn’t be able to do, but if you blip the gas in an auto you should still be able to make it burble a bit. I hope this could help, thanks for watching the video 🤝💙
You think I can do it in and auto? I have a Genesis coupe auto cat back exhaust with an 8 speed auto.
Wassup fam, honestly it probably won’t be as crazy as how mine sounds without having a clutch, but it should be able to still burble and stuff, if your going for loud pops and backfires then you’ll most likely need a tune for your car. I’d definitely give it a shot, and see if you can get your genesis to do it as well, without having to go down the road. Thanks for watching, hope this could help 🤝💙

Yeah, having a good quality exhaust certainly does help in this case, although I have seen a few other cars pop and burble just from a muffler delete as well. I think the car and the exhaust setup plays a huge factor in wether or not your car can do it.
@@Justinackerman_ i have a $200 muffler delete on my gr86 and it pops on rev matched down shifts. i noticed it popped occasionally with the stock muffler like u had mentioned so i figured id try the delete and see if i got more pops. and i sure did . i get tons of compliments on how it sounds. besides the drone, its great. im happy i didnt have to spend $1-2k for a catback for a decent sound on this car.
Eh youll always get hate no matter what if you're making car videos. I have a good collection of jdm cars few skylines a couple silvia, ae86 ect but i live in a hick town and everybody with trucks hates on me for driving "girl cars" 😅 if my r34 is a girl car welp i guess i deserve lifted truck drivers to diss me . what tire size/fitment on? i’m looking for exact tires/rims you have same color and style
Wassup homie, so the wheel size is 18x9.5+38 and the tires are 245/35/18. You are gonna need coilover’s to run these specs, I went with BC (BR SERIES) Coilover’s. They have been great and haven’t had a single issues with any of them. I would highly recommend going with this setup, it feels great. Thanks for watching the video homie 👏💙

Haha, yeah it definitely is a lot harder to get it to pop and burble on a factory tune on an auto unfortunately, but let’s just say you’re might enjoy these next few videos I’m uploading to the channel 👀
If you’re in 4 or 5 gear just down shift to 3rd or 2nd and give it more gas and will pop up

I would think it should be able to do this… it might just take a modified exhaust whether that’s a Catback or even crazier like a overpipe or Downpipe. I was able to get my 86 to backfire a bunch without a tune. Thanks for watching the video fam 👏💙

I’ve loved them ever since, and was blessed to finally be able to own my very own 86. Being in Europe definitely makes it harder to purchase a vehicle, I know the prices over there are abit higher as well. I wish you the absolute best with your decision, hope all goes well for you. My auto gr86 could never 😪
I’ve heard a few people with an auto still able to get pops and burbles, but it required more than just a Catback exhaust to do it. Besides for it not backfiring I’m sure you love you 86 just as much as I do. They are really great cars, can’t wait for more aftermarket support to be released soon for them. @@Justinackerman_ I can get some pops on upshifts w just my catback (HKS single exit) but other than that it's probably gonna take some headers and fp/op possibly to get more sounds. I do love this car and can't wait for what the future holds for the platform
@naps777 that’s dope dawg, and that’s the same route that I eventually plan to take with this car as well. Although when I put UEL headers on the car I feel that I might need to switch from the AWE Track and go to their touring edition instead so it’s not to obnoxious. Exhaust is by far one of my favorite “mods” that your could do to your car.
