    Even when the universe comes to an end and once more is retold, the moonlight’s radiance will forever be there to guide those who seeks its power or wisdom, for the moon’s light is endless not even the abyss can consume it.😺

    To this day, Bloodborne still has the best introduction to Moonlight GS. No unceremonious tail cutting, no soul transposing, but a full-on cutscene of one of From's best boss fights. Hell, even Ranni's wedding gift doesn't come close.

    • @icouldntfindafunny5688

      The best moment in bloodborne is that exact cutscene, where you think you’re doing well, then suddenly “ah, it seems you by my side this entire time, my guiding moonlight”, and then one of the best soundtracks ever play as you get your ass beat by a deformed horse

    I'd actually argue that a version of it does exist in Sekiro in the form of the blue-green sword wielded by the Divine Dragon. It even produces blades of air as the dragon swings, almost like the magical waves of the moonlight sword. I know it's a very shallow resemblance, but it was all I could think of during the battle.

      The Golden Order Greatsword is not necessarily a moonlight sword. The sword is described as a "Greatsword made of light, modeled after the Elden Ring itself," so its light is golden, more akin to the golden light of the Elden Ring, not Moonlight.

    Hopefully we can reforge the Golden Order Greatsword into a Fullmoon Greatsword. Would be cool to have a faith/intelligence sword, quite a unique blend. Not sure how lore friendly this is, but perhaps the sword's immense holy powers could be balanced with magic? Due to that, perhaps we could get the far more iconic hue, and perhaps the sound. I'm no expert though, so I'm not sure.

    As far as i know there ar not 4 but 8 tail weapons:
    1) Dragon Greatsword (by cutting off the Stone Dragon's tail in Ash Lake)
    2) Dragon King Greataxe (by cutting off the tail of the Gaping Dragon)
    3) Drake Sword (by cutting off the tail of the Hellkite Dragon's tail)
    4) Gargoyle Tail Axe (by cutting the tail of the first of the two Bell Gargoyles; guaranteed drop from Gargoyles in Anor Londo)
    5) Guardian Tail (by cutting the tail off the Sanctuary Guardian boss guarding the Oolacile Sanctuary)
    6) Moonlight Greatsword (by cutting the middle tail off the Seath the Scaleless)
    7) Obsidian Greatsword (by cutting off the tail of Black Dragon Kalameet)
    8) Priscilla's Dagger (by cutting off Crossbreed Priscilla's tail).
    As far as to obtain any of the swords, the player must deal enough damage to the tail as it has its own hit box to sever it, placing the sword in their inventory.

    If i may shed some "moon"light, and a slight correction to the timeline. Dark Souls 3 came before Dark Souls 2, meaning his name was lost after DS3, where the true ending was the lands losing the flame, plunging it into darkness. The great dragon seen over the Freya boss fight is Seeths corpse, however his name is lost due to most sorceries being either dead, evil, or hexers. Yet the interesting part is Blood Borne being the latest iteration of this timeline, and its mention to a godlike being would still hint its ties to Seeth, the father of sorceries.
    And another detail, forgot to bring up, is the slow changing of colors from game to game is actually an easter egg in itself, if you look, all the colors its ever been are the colors of The Norther Lights, giving creeden to its nightly origins.

    I always thought the moonlight greatsword was the most important object in all of id's works - literally. I mean I believe that whatever it is, in any shape or form or lore that it's actually not even an Easter egg style weapon but rather an actual puzzle piece stating that every single game and universe and all things are tied together by something much bigger,m and older and not discussed because it can't be, it's something too old and multiversal. I've gotten to the point we're because of it being cut from seeths tail buy then again also being able to be made from his soul that he himself, his magic, and his soul are actually somehow drawn into existence or affected from the aspect of the sword and not the other way around. Like it's a multiversal shard that imbeds itself into every world and sometimes provides change due to its existence because it's from something before the beginnings of every in-game universe and their differences.

    Since Bloodborne, I realised that the Holy Moonlight Sword 🌙🗡️ was an gimic / easter egg in FromSoftware Games 🤯 Not kidding I love it so much and my fav one is the introduce/cutsence from Ludwig 🐴 ❣️

    I think perhaps it isnt that the sword in BB really has the unique ability to speak to the wielder, but, how BB universe work, it may be that the hunter through the insight could gaze or hear upon the incomprehensible essence the sword carries

    I find it interesting how you talk about the fake moonlight sword in bloodborne but completely ignore the fake one in dark souls 2. The one DS2 is actually blue and looks like a more convincing fake compared to bloodborne.

    Do the imps have any lore? Surely somewhere theres something to them. Like are they related to the gargoyles and other golemoids? There exists no information on this that I can find? They're one of my fav critters but I've never heard anyone discuss them at all.

    So, my only disappointment is you didn't mention the other one in Elden Ring. The one that Renala made for Radagon, and was converted into a weapon for the Golden Order. But now resides in possession from a Misbegotten

    • @square-table-gaming
      @square-table-gaming  Год назад

      Given that it was no longer a moonlight Greatsword since Radagon removed its moonlight it didn't really fall into this category anymore. It probably should have gotten a shout out though for being one long before we had a chance to encounter it.

    Weren’t there technically 2 moon swords in elden ring? The one that radgon has?

    • @square-table-gaming
      @square-table-gaming  2 года назад

      Radagons sword WAS a moonlight sword, but he converted it into a sword that shoots golden energy, so it no longer has any connection to the moon.

    I'm a bit disappointed you didn't mention the golden order greatsword, which the description suggests is the sword rennala gave radagon for their marriage. he's rebranded it to be all about the golden order, because he's the worst spouse ever

    • @square-table-gaming
      @square-table-gaming  2 года назад

      Very true, but we wanted to stick to moonlight Greatswords, and since Radagon replaced the moonlight with the light of the golden order, it's no longer a moonlight sword.

    So there is a couple of Moon Swords you seem to have forgotten. First Dark Souls 2 also have the Blue Moon Greatsword, second is the Golden Order Greatsword of Elden Ring and finally though it technically isn't one but I count it as it is the weapon of the Darkmoon Knights of Dark Souls 3: The Greatsword of Judgement. There is also some talk about the Divine Dragon's Sword, the Shichishitō but I am personally a bit on the fence with that one.

    • @square-table-gaming
      @square-table-gaming  Год назад

      So we actually addressed most of these in other comments! We didn't mention the blue moon Greatsword because it's a fake, pretty straightforward there. For the golden order Greatsword, it went unmentioned because it had the moonlight transfused out of it, hence it no longer being a moonlight sword. Greatsword of judgement is a similar issue, no moonlight beam powers, not a moonlight sword. I tend to agree with you on the divine dragons sword.

    • @TheBallazan
      @TheBallazan Год назад

      @@square-table-gaming Ok I do see your points and yeah I suppose the Greatsword of Judgement isn't filled with Moonlight any more. At least not the version WE can get from Sullivan.

      Radagons blade was once a moonlight Greatsword but he reforged it and removed it's moonlight, so it's no longer a moonlight Greatsword
