i was super excited for quicksand’s embrace, but that holo magnetic pigment is super disappointing… if it was more stronger then i would’ve liked it more 😅 the base color is cute at least. thank u for the video!

This video was super helpful, thank you! I'm getting Am I Everything You Fear?, Ghost Ship, and Maelstrom (also picking up Pomegranate Seeds because I've wanted it for forever). I'm personally happy they're releasing colors close to limited editions shades, I think that's just a nice thing to do. I know some folks are tired of the blues and purples but as a blue and purple person - never mad. With the Persephone collection and now sirens...I kinda want this whole year to be about badass mythological women. (I also want them to do a vampire theme so, so bad because they'd do it so so well)

I’m currently wearing Sand Viper! It’s such a soft, subtle color on me. Nude but better🥰 I only have room for 5 more Mooncat polishes in my drawers so…Treachery in the Blue, Siren’s Revenge and the Sea Between Us all stand out to me!

I thought Siren's Revenge looked basically like a dupe of Full Scream Ahead so it was awesome to see them literally side by side. I'm holding off on MC purchases for now because I don't personally think they're worth $15-$16 given that they're 12mL, but I added Siren's Revenge, Maelstrom, the Sea Between Us and Am I Everything You Feared to my wishlist for sale-season!

Yep, this was what I was waiting on! Snagged Am I Everything You Fear (that may require a backup purchase), Maelstrom, The Sea Between Us, and Ghost Ship. I swear that either Cirque Colors or ILNP has a multichrome that's super similar to A Most Destructive Melody. The Siren's Revenge is so beautiful, but so close to Full Scream Ahead (which I love and bought a backup).

Holo magnetic pigment seems to give brands some trouble. Early swatch pics had me thinking there were some must haves in this collection but I think I only like the multichrome enough to add it to the wish list. Thank you for the thorough review and most especially all your comparisons!
yeah sadly i feel like the base is either too light or theres just not enough holo pigment for it to “work” .. the multichrome is really gorgeous though and while it’s unique to my collection, it actually looks like it could be a dupe (Or super close to) Holo Taco’s Purple with Envy and/or ILNP’s Birefringence, in case you have either of those! but so glad my swatches + comparisons were helpful 🫶🏼
IMO a multichrome polish will give you the colour shifts without the fragility of a thermal formula. I really like them. This is a lovely collection. Thank you for sharing ❤
Quicksands Embrace oddly enough is prob my favorite shade 😂 I don't mind how subtle it is. It's a calmer shade in a sea of chaos 🤣🌊 and it's def a safe comfy shade for sure. I bought the whole collection but I think that will be one I use alot. ❤

The holo magnetic reminds me of the Cirque Bubbly collection. The magnetic pigment is sooooo subtle in those, just like with this one. They bummed me out because if I’m going to that much hassle to magnetize it, I’d like to be able to see it!

I like the vibes and color story but I feel like I already own so many similar shades by other brands... The only ones going on my wish list are Treachery in Blue, A Most Destructive Melody and The Siren's Revenge (and this one is because I'm a sucker for teals lol). I wish you had compared the Sea between us with never tide down from HT! They look so similar to me. EDIT: I pulled out my never tide down and realized the flakies are not as prominent there, so they're different "enough" but the color and vibes are a match IMO.

I really appreciate how you do your swatch videos. Showing the polish on its own as well as bottle comparisons and side by side on the nail! It’s very helpful. As for this collection there are a few I like, however I only picked up Maelstrom and Treachery in the Blue. I actually like that the holo isn’t as noticeable in Quicksand’s Embrace because I think it is a flattering soft color but I don’t like linear holographic or too much holo sparkle so I might be picking that one up on my next order.

The Siren's Revenge is my favorite, very unique. I'm a little bored with blue/green polishes with purple/red shimmer that indies have been putting out so this is a great departure from that. I will prob get that one. Thanks for the swatches!

I’m planning to get Siren’s Revenge, Maelstrom, Am I Everything You Fear, and Treachery in Blue. I really like the colour scheme of the thermal, though I totally share your concern that it will fade over time…also I have to keep short nails for work, so the nice thermal gradient never works on me. 😢 But that muted navy and pink is just too delicious together. I really wanted to like Quicksand’s Embrace but I’m so glad you showed how finicky the magnetic pigment it is. I also wish the Sea Between Us and Maelstrom were different enough to justify buying both - really wished one of them had a different colour shimmer (maybe even a copper/red one?). It reminded me how similar last collection’s Garden of Evil and Field of Elysian were. 😅

I am in love with the quicksand one even though the magnetic effect is so subtle! And the everything you fear shimmer one. Also I just wanted to say that your matching theme/makeup/outfits are so cute and you look like a dark deep sea siren here! Makes me want to watch the 90's Oddesey mini series where Vanessa Williams plays Calypso. I found it a little challenging to work with, but patience was key for me. 😅
Also, I found out after getting BKL's multichromes, that I realized I have some from KBShimmer as well even though they're magnetics, but I think I'm more of a white multichrome person than a usual one, cus when I think of multichrome, I think of dark colors. 🤔

I've yet to purchase from Mooncat! The NBC and HP collections almost got me because both those movies meant a lot to me as a kid and still do, but i resisted! I am swapping for a secondhand bottle of Pumpkin King though. With the exception of the magnetics and thermals, this collection is hardcore pulling me in and i don't think i'll be able to resist when i have the funds to spare. let's hope there's a sale soon lol

Hmmm. These are all gorgeous and surprisingly I am passing on all of them for now. Maybe a few will come home with me another time. I am deeply into whites and pinks right now and maybe that's part of it. I don't know. Really (as always) enjoyed your comparisons and I agree about the pale magnetic. It's not a grabber to me. January seems to be when i lean towards a lot of blues. April and May I start to lean to pale tones.

If we put The Sea Between Us over Into The Abyss - or a layer of House of Hades over it - would we get closer to When Hell Freezes Over? It's too high in destashes to grab. HOH might be too purple. Wildflower Lacquer's Mother of a Solid Gold Dancer arrived today and it's such a dark teal it's nearly black. I'm envisioning a skittle with The Sea Between Us and Maelstrom. I love how the multichrome in A Most Destructive Melody wasn't overwhelmed by a green or gold shimmer, and I could see the dark color as you moved in the light. Some brands have a gorgeous base, but it gets wiped out by the shimmer. I was hoping Quicksand's Embrace did a beautiful velvet effect. Sand Viper would be too gold on me; I hoped Quicksand's Embrace would be a silver option. I may see how the Claw Club judges it in everyday life. Some thermals are quite squishy. I used Sassy Sauce's Peek-a-Boo for the eclipse. I loved the effect, but my tips didn't feel well-protected. I always love a thermal but try to buy only a few to wear them often while they last. I make a point to keep my polishes cool, but not too cool, and in an opaque box with a lid.
i can see that kind of working as a WHFO dupe, i actually don’t have Into the Abyss to try it myself & i do agree that HoH would be a little too purple/indigo.. thats a shame about the Wildflower being too dark :/ and yeah i can see what you mean about shimmers almost being overpowering in some polishes! ahh i know, it was really disappointing how subtle the effect was in Quicksand’s Embrace, I was hoping it would be like the beige version of Devil’s Ivy from the Persephone collection. it definitely is still a beautiful neutral shade though and i’m sure a lot of people will love it! but it seems unfair it’s $1 extra 🤣 yess i loved your eclipse mani with the thermal, so fun!! i can def see the squishyness being common in thermals too, that’s smart to use a blurring base for them!
I have over 200 nail polishes, and only 5 of those are thermals. Of those 5, I think 4 of them are "dead." Regardless, I really like Treachery in the blue. It reminds me of Cirque's recent thermal from their Encore collection. I'll wait till a sale to get that one, and hope that some of the polishes from these newer releases become reward polish options.
aw yeah I think I only have 3-4 thermals in my collection but one of them died, the others ( to my knowledge lol) still transition but some are just a little weaker.. but ugh yes Treachery in the Blue is stunning!!! haha yeah it’s like the darker, moodier version of Bisou Bisou. definitely worth picking up during the sale or as rewards!!
I feel like we need to see A Most Destructive Melody compared to Supervillain and A Very Merry Unbirthday, they seem really close to the colours but with a different formula
Before having watched your video, this collection wasn’t hitting for me (and I usually tend to not like every shade) but what was unusual for me personally is that the choices for the color scheme were a bit underwhelming. I knew that what I saw from their reveal Am I everything that you fear and Ghost Ship were my only two favorites that I would absolutely get (on a sale I never buy things in general without a sale). Sirens’ Revenge I am still torn on because I was hoping it would be more vivid, still very gorg tho!!! Quicksand’s Embrace looked pretty but too subtle for my preference. I am not into flakies or thermals so I wasn’t into them either way, I feel like I have liked other collections in total way more than this one even if they had formulas I don’t wear! After having watched your vid, my favorites still remain the same and I have to agree with you Quicksand is way too weak and subtle and unfortunately they are charging the same $16 for other magnetics which is a little disappointing. Your video was very helpful as always!!!!
i definitely am with you on waiting for a sale lol mooncat is pricey! its best to take advantage of their rewards/sales when you can. but i do get what you mean about Sirens Revenge, i think bc the base is more opaque/pigmented, it ends up sort of covering some of that shimmer and it doesn’t look as glowy as their other shades with more of a jelly base-but maybe if that was more jelly, it would be TOO similar to Catfished? 🤔 yeah it was a bummer to see Quicksand’s Embrace wasn’t any cheaper than other magnetics.. its a beautiful base color but it could’ve been a creme for less 😖 I’m glad you found my video helpful though! and hopefully you’ll enjoy their next collection more than this!

i was super excited for quicksand’s embrace, but that holo magnetic pigment is super disappointing… if it was more stronger then i would’ve liked it more 😅 the base color is cute at least. thank u for the video!

This video was super helpful, thank you! I'm getting Am I Everything You Fear?, Ghost Ship, and Maelstrom (also picking up Pomegranate Seeds because I've wanted it for forever). I'm personally happy they're releasing colors close to limited editions shades, I think that's just a nice thing to do. I know some folks are tired of the blues and purples but as a blue and purple person - never mad. With the Persephone collection and now sirens...I kinda want this whole year to be about badass mythological women. (I also want them to do a vampire theme so, so bad because they'd do it so so well)

I’m currently wearing Sand Viper! It’s such a soft, subtle color on me. Nude but better🥰 I only have room for 5 more Mooncat polishes in my drawers so…Treachery in the Blue, Siren’s Revenge and the Sea Between Us all stand out to me!

I thought Siren's Revenge looked basically like a dupe of Full Scream Ahead so it was awesome to see them literally side by side. I'm holding off on MC purchases for now because I don't personally think they're worth $15-$16 given that they're 12mL, but I added Siren's Revenge, Maelstrom, the Sea Between Us and Am I Everything You Feared to my wishlist for sale-season!

Yep, this was what I was waiting on! Snagged Am I Everything You Fear (that may require a backup purchase), Maelstrom, The Sea Between Us, and Ghost Ship. I swear that either Cirque Colors or ILNP has a multichrome that's super similar to A Most Destructive Melody. The Siren's Revenge is so beautiful, but so close to Full Scream Ahead (which I love and bought a backup).

Holo magnetic pigment seems to give brands some trouble. Early swatch pics had me thinking there were some must haves in this collection but I think I only like the multichrome enough to add it to the wish list. Thank you for the thorough review and most especially all your comparisons!
yeah sadly i feel like the base is either too light or theres just not enough holo pigment for it to “work” .. the multichrome is really gorgeous though and while it’s unique to my collection, it actually looks like it could be a dupe (Or super close to) Holo Taco’s Purple with Envy and/or ILNP’s Birefringence, in case you have either of those! but so glad my swatches + comparisons were helpful 🫶🏼
The nail polish swatches are always so so so helpful, be we might also need a makeup tutorial at some point! 💜

Quicksands Embrace oddly enough is prob my favorite shade 😂 I don't mind how subtle it is. It's a calmer shade in a sea of chaos 🤣🌊 and it's def a safe comfy shade for sure. I bought the whole collection but I think that will be one I use alot. ❤

The holo magnetic reminds me of the Cirque Bubbly collection. The magnetic pigment is sooooo subtle in those, just like with this one. They bummed me out because if I’m going to that much hassle to magnetize it, I’d like to be able to see it!

I like the vibes and color story but I feel like I already own so many similar shades by other brands... The only ones going on my wish list are Treachery in Blue, A Most Destructive Melody and The Siren's Revenge (and this one is because I'm a sucker for teals lol). I wish you had compared the Sea between us with never tide down from HT! They look so similar to me. EDIT: I pulled out my never tide down and realized the flakies are not as prominent there, so they're different "enough" but the color and vibes are a match IMO.

I really appreciate how you do your swatch videos. Showing the polish on its own as well as bottle comparisons and side by side on the nail! It’s very helpful. As for this collection there are a few I like, however I only picked up Maelstrom and Treachery in the Blue.
I actually like that the holo isn’t as noticeable in Quicksand’s Embrace because I think it is a flattering soft color but I don’t like linear holographic or too much holo sparkle so I might be picking that one up on my next order.

The Siren's Revenge is my favorite, very unique. I'm a little bored with blue/green polishes with purple/red shimmer that indies have been putting out so this is a great departure from that. I will prob get that one. Thanks for the swatches!

I’m planning to get Siren’s Revenge, Maelstrom, Am I Everything You Fear, and Treachery in Blue. I really like the colour scheme of the thermal, though I totally share your concern that it will fade over time…also I have to keep short nails for work, so the nice thermal gradient never works on me. 😢 But that muted navy and pink is just too delicious together.
I really wanted to like Quicksand’s Embrace but I’m so glad you showed how finicky the magnetic pigment it is. I also wish the Sea Between Us and Maelstrom were different enough to justify buying both - really wished one of them had a different colour shimmer (maybe even a copper/red one?). It reminded me how similar last collection’s Garden of Evil and Field of Elysian were. 😅

Also I just wanted to say that your matching theme/makeup/outfits are so cute and you look like a dark deep sea siren here! Makes me want to watch the 90's Oddesey mini series where Vanessa Williams plays Calypso. Kind of a random reference but all the mythology inspiration reminds me of that series and mythology books I've read.

The Sea Between Us is absolutely stunning! And Maelstrom took my breath away! That shimmer in Am I Everything You Fear is divine! I absolutely love it! I thought I was going to love the magnetics…especially Ghost Ship. But they are kinda blah to me. I do however really like the thermals! And that is surprising to me because I don’t typically care for thermals. I really like the colors in both states cool and warm. The multichrome is super pretty, but I feel like I may have something similar already in my collection.💖 Thanks so much for always doing such a beautiful job showcasing these polishes and for your comps! As for the formulas now that I've only tried A Midsummer's Dream so far, Idk if it was just me, but are Mooncat's formulas thicker? I found it a little challenging to work with, but patience was key for me. 😅
Idk why this collection didn't wow me as much. I get that it fits the theme, but.. maybe it strays from my usual being a seasonal wearer?
Also, I found out after getting BKL's multichromes, that I realized I have some from KBShimmer as well even though they're magnetics, but I think I'm more of a white multichrome person than a usual one, cus when I think of multichrome, I think of dark colors. 🤔

but yeah i def have seen people say the same about mooncat’s formulas being thicker, I mainly experienced that with the cremes but yeah i guess if you’re used to other brands like ILNP i can def see them being thicker! (maybe its hard for me to tell bc i’m usually heavy handed lol)
and yeah i can see what you mean too about not lovinggg this collection, someone else mentioned all the deeper blues/purples are pretty but work better for winter and maybe the brighter ones for summer, which makes sense to me! and i’m the same way where i always associate multichromes as being darker colors too!

I had no idea quicksand’s embrace was a holo magnetic. It’s sooo subtle, I would’ve honestly preferred if it was in a clear base to be a topper.
Yeah I didn’t realize it at first either 🫣 such a bummer, I def would’ve preferred if it was just the base color as a Creme so it’s cheaper, but a topper would’ve been fun too! I’m guessing it just wouldn’t work bc of how subtle it is..

I've yet to purchase from Mooncat! The NBC and HP collections almost got me because both those movies meant a lot to me as a kid and still do, but i resisted! I am swapping for a secondhand bottle of Pumpkin King though. With the exception of the magnetics and thermals, this collection is hardcore pulling me in and i don't think i'll be able to resist when i have the funds to spare. let's hope there's a sale soon lol

Hmmm. These are all gorgeous and surprisingly I am passing on all of them for now. Maybe a few will come home with me another time. I am deeply into whites and pinks right now and maybe that's part of it. I don't know. Really (as always) enjoyed your comparisons and I agree about the pale magnetic. It's not a grabber to me. January seems to be when i lean towards a lot of blues. April and May I start to lean to pale tones.

If we put The Sea Between Us over Into The Abyss - or a layer of House of Hades over it - would we get closer to When Hell Freezes Over? It's too high in destashes to grab. HOH might be too purple. Wildflower Lacquer's Mother of a Solid Gold Dancer arrived today and it's such a dark teal it's nearly black. I'm envisioning a skittle with The Sea Between Us and Maelstrom. I love how the multichrome in A Most Destructive Melody wasn't overwhelmed by a green or gold shimmer, and I could see the dark color as you moved in the light. Some brands have a gorgeous base, but it gets wiped out by the shimmer.
I was hoping Quicksand's Embrace did a beautiful velvet effect. Sand Viper would be too gold on me; I hoped Quicksand's Embrace would be a silver option. I may see how the Claw Club judges it in everyday life.
Some thermals are quite squishy. I used Sassy Sauce's Peek-a-Boo for the eclipse. I loved the effect, but my tips didn't feel well-protected. I always love a thermal but try to buy only a few to wear them often while they last. I make a point to keep my polishes cool, but not too cool, and in an opaque box with a lid.
i can see that kind of working as a WHFO dupe, i actually don’t have Into the Abyss to try it myself & i do agree that HoH would be a little too purple/indigo.. thats a shame about the Wildflower being too dark :/ and yeah i can see what you mean about shimmers almost being overpowering in some polishes!
ahh i know, it was really disappointing how subtle the effect was in Quicksand’s Embrace, I was hoping it would be like the beige version of Devil’s Ivy from the Persephone collection. it definitely is still a beautiful neutral shade though and i’m sure a lot of people will love it! but it seems unfair it’s $1 extra 🤣
yess i loved your eclipse mani with the thermal, so fun!! i can def see the squishyness being common in thermals too, that’s smart to use a blurring base for them!
I have over 200 nail polishes, and only 5 of those are thermals. Of those 5, I think 4 of them are "dead." Regardless, I really like Treachery in the blue. It reminds me of Cirque's recent thermal from their Encore collection. I'll wait till a sale to get that one, and hope that some of the polishes from these newer releases become reward polish options.
aw yeah I think I only have 3-4 thermals in my collection but one of them died, the others ( to my knowledge lol) still transition but some are just a little weaker.. but ugh yes Treachery in the Blue is stunning!!! haha yeah it’s like the darker, moodier version of Bisou Bisou. definitely worth picking up during the sale or as rewards!!
I feel like we need to see A Most Destructive Melody compared to Supervillain and A Very Merry Unbirthday, they seem really close to the colours but with a different formula

Before having watched your video, this collection wasn’t hitting for me (and I usually tend to not like every shade) but what was unusual for me personally is that the choices for the color scheme were a bit underwhelming. I knew that what I saw from their reveal Am I everything that you fear and Ghost Ship were my only two favorites that I would absolutely get (on a sale I never buy things in general without a sale). Sirens’ Revenge I am still torn on because I was hoping it would be more vivid, still very gorg tho!!! Quicksand’s Embrace looked pretty but too subtle for my preference. I am not into flakies or thermals so I wasn’t into them either way, I feel like I have liked other collections in total way more than this one even if they had formulas I don’t wear!
After having watched your vid, my favorites still remain the same and I have to agree with you Quicksand is way too weak and subtle and unfortunately they are charging the same $16 for other magnetics which is a little disappointing. Your video was very helpful as always!!!!
i definitely am with you on waiting for a sale lol mooncat is pricey! its best to take advantage of their rewards/sales when you can. but i do get what you mean about Sirens Revenge, i think bc the base is more opaque/pigmented, it ends up sort of covering some of that shimmer and it doesn’t look as glowy as their other shades with more of a jelly base-but maybe if that was more jelly, it would be TOO similar to Catfished? 🤔
