I love the concept and the art behind the collab, even down to the vanisher and glass file. What I don't like is the polish colors. They all seem too similar to previous colors. None of them were wow in my face but hopefully it's a learning point for them with the feedback. Not gonna lie, I still bought the whole set because I'm an NBC collector, but if I wasn't, I would've only gotten the file and brush. Thank you for the great video though! It made me excited for a couple of the colors.
yeah I totally hear you! i’m town between liking them and thinking they’re pretty esp finish wise, but yeah color wise they definitely are really similar to existing shades.. i do get the inspo though so it makes sense at the same time lol 😅

I skipped the blue and white because I had a feeling that formula would be tricky. After watching your video, I'm glad I made that choice. I also passed on the collector's box because realistically, I don't have the space to collect polish boxes. I would've loved to see more experimentation with the color story because these colors aren't unique to existing shades from Mooncat. But I understand they have to make colors that are marketable and universal for any polish user. I'm very happy to see the brand growing and expanding to a different fanbase. Thank you for uploading at launch time to help our pockets out!
yeah I totally forgot to mention in the video that they do note over time the gitd shades will thicken over time too! so i can imagine that would lead to people having more issues esp if they don’t have thinner. i totally hear you though about the color palette, like its cute and technically fitting, but exactly it’s pretty much colors we’ve seen from mooncat before, just a littleee different lol. i was amost surprised to see they didn’t include larger flakies or magnetics either, but I liked them changing it up with just shimmers/glitters, they’re still pretty imo!
I absolutely live for the comparisons, thank you for doing them!!! I’m super picky and have a very intentional collection so I try to avoid having too many similar polishes at one time haha
omgg i was the same way lol! it lowkey bothers me to have so many similar shades, but at this point it feels necessary to keep them just for thr sake of comparisons 😂
I only got the green shade. Disappointed tbh. Rag doll is literally sabertooth but glowy and glossy lmao the glow in the dark pigment washed it out. Definitely my least favorite release to date. Usually I find at least 3 or 4 shades I gotta buy but this one was underwhelming. Oh well. The packaging is certainly very cute.

I thought the same, the collection is cohesive and pretty but…as much as I like Tim Burton and The Nightmare Before Christmas, I found it so underwhelming…😅 I am enjoying it through the swatches and the people that got it lol

Just wanted to pass along this little life hack I discovered. I bought a mini blacklight flashlight on Amazon and it instantly charges up GITD polishes. I do it every night before I turn off the lights. It’s fun to see them immediately activate. Highly recommend!
omg i wouldn’t have guessed a blacklight would work with charging gitd! i may actually have to get one, I’ve been meaning to for a while just for neons lol tysm for this!!

I really wanted more orange in the Pumpkin King. I feel like we've seen all these colors before and I just can't get excited other than for the bottle design. And I'm too old for glow in the dark lol
ugh i knowww, the way he orange glowed in the bottle was SO pretty & I wish it translated better 😔 that’s fair though, the majority of these had some pretty close comparisons/alternatives.. but noo glow in the dark is so fun no matter how old you are!! 😝

Fancy Gloss has really nice GITD top coats that glow pink, white, blue, purple, and of course green. I’m not sure why more brands don’t use the other gitd colors. I’m pretty sick of the green glow.
OMG pink gitd???!! how did i not know this existed ! but ugh yeah knowing there were soo many options makes it disappointing 😩 are the Fancy Gloss gitd smooth or grainy?

I think the branding and attention to detail are perfection. The colors aren’t too exciting, but I love the movie and bought the collection box since the complete set was sold out. 😅 Definitely agree with you that at least one additional color for the GITD effect would have added interest. If Orly can manage a green and aqua/blue, surely that would have been doable… Rag Doll could have had a coordinating glow.

Man, we are missing all these Mooncat collections in Europe since Hypnotic is taking longer than anticipated to open back up. Oh, well, will just have to live vicariously through these videos. My Bugs is my favorite.

I’ve been passing on mooncat lately just because I felt overwhelmed by how many releases they have, but I picked up Pumpkin King, My Bugs My Bugs, and What a Wonderful Nose! I’ve never seen Nightmare before Christmas but I love holiday limited edition anything lol, I usually do gel over acrylics but I’m hoping my nail lady can use these on my nails for Halloween 🎃

Loovvvve the outfit 🖤😍 the Mooncat team did such an amazing job with the packaging. 🫶🏽 kind of bummed they all GITD green. I wish there would have been some variance with that. And for the box to have a spot for the vanisher and file to fit. Mine just came wrapped in plastic at the bottom of the box.

Always love your swatches ❤ I got all the polishes except for My Bugs. I figured the glow in the dark color in the others were enough yellow/green for me 😂 Didn’t get the collectors box because the little boxes they come in is enough for me and I do store them in the small boxes they come in. I just got new nail tools but these were cute! If I didn’t just get new mail tools, I would have gotten these too. Thanks for your swatches ❤

I’m obsessed with the box! It’s beyond beautiful. I’m not loving the shades so much, the one that piqued my interest the most was My Bugs. I hate passing on this gorgeous collection but my wallet is hemorrhaging from polish collections right now.

I love the bottle design on these. I ordered Pumpkin King and Everybody Scream, which I kind of am now regretting as your swatch comparing it to Very Merry Unbirthday look so similar.

thanks for showing the tricky application for the white one, i defn would have had trouble with it! Pumpkin King's orange shimmer not coming through 😔 the directed light setup u have for multichromes usually show the shifts clearly and instantly, so yea that one was a bit of a bummer
i might sit this collection out for now though, they are nice shades but somehow not "OMG-MUST-HAVE" 🤔

I did pick up What a Brilliant Nose, as it's more opaque than some of MC's shimmers and I love it, I'm not bother by the glow in the dark, i find it doesn't last long. But tempted to get a second bottle as it's still in stock. I would have liked to see HT Private Villa compared to My sandy claws outfit. But thanks for the comparisions!
Yeah looking back, I can see how this collab didn’t totally stand out.. I still love the shades for the most part though. And really, I noticed the glow lasted long for me! But ah yeah I shared that comparison on my Instagram stories, feel free to DM me and I can share it with you! Iirc they were pretty similar color wise but mooncat had more glitter/sparkle.

Your outfit is so on point! 🦇👏🏻💜 I love the whole collection! The details are so so gooood! I love that the GITD are not grainy and patchy and that they can be charged with your phone flash! I’m most excited about all the holos though. I love me a good Holo moment and sandy claws and everybody scream have my heart! Pumpkin King is super interesting. I love all the different colored glitters in that one that you see when the light hits it! Sadly I missed out on the retractable brush! I can’t believe how quick it sold out! But I still managed to get the collectors set and an extra set of stickers! 👻👏🏻🎃 And I do agree on the GITD. I hope in the future MC will release a blue or purple GITD pigment. 🙏🏻
Also I was gonna ask… how does sandy claws compare to HT private Villa. I’m guessing Private Villa is way more pink.

So EPIC! 🤯🙌🏻 I am keeping fingers crossed that they bring back the cute one, but it’s all good if they don’t. I really wanted the collection box, polishes, and stickers most. So I’m super happy! 🥰 I would be SO STOKED if they did a purple GITD! So different and cool!

My favorite cartoon of all time 😊😊😊😊😊😊😊from Tim burton and disney fun fact I went to Disneyland for oggie boogie bash after going on the haunted mansion which is covered in the nightmare before Christmas and after me and my mom and niece sat down to take a break near the pirates of the Caribbean ride and we got to meet jack and sally my niece had a full on conversation with both jack and sally and myself

I wish the box alone could be sold separately, but this whole set sold out fast and the people are peopling. 😅 I love mooncat but if you are a collector these are similar to already other existing shades besides the bottle design and glow in the dark aspect. I do want atleast 1 glow in the dark and 1 non glow in the dark and im crossing my fingers she restocks the vanisher. Its so cute. As far as comparing the blue looks sim. to sabertooth a nd purple looks like a cool tone very merry un bday to me. None the less the shades are beautiful! the box was sold separately! which is still available too. but yeah i was surprised the complete set sold out super fast, I guess they didn’t make as many of those? I get people’s frustrations but at the same time when I know something is LE i’m doing my best to shop on the DOT of the launch. still agree though that these colors are very similar to existing shades… its not soo bad since the finishes are slightly diff and people at least have an option (assuming they don’t have either). it would be nice if they could restock or do a pre order like last years Hocus Pocus set for the brush and file!! but tysm for watching and commenting 🥰🥰
I bought the whole box, because i had a feeling that I would want them all, and after seeing the swatches I'm glad I did honestly. However, the thing that I just cant get passed that kind of bothers me with this collection is the review embargo? It would have made such a difference in my stress levels when shopping if I could have seen the vid before the collection was released. Kinda nasty IMO. Im a little surprised at how similar every body scream is to a very merry unbirhtday, but I love that polish soooo much that I'm not even sweating having kind of dupes lol.

I grabbed the set because i'm an NBC collector. How would Sandy Claws Outfit compares to HT's Private Villa or Party Punch? A little underwhelmed that the clean up brush sold out so fast and that most shades have dupes(ish) that i own. Great review, the comparisons are always so helpful 🥰

you are sooo kind wow lol I’m embarrassed to say I dont really have a routineee, but my staples are the Cerave Foaming Facial Cleanser and Glow Recipe’s Plum Plump Hyaluronic Cream! on good days i’ll use some other products like serums but I struggle with keeping consistent 🙈
I was just about to buy the Alice in wonderland a very merry unbirthday- should I get everybody screams instead? I like the glow of avmu but if this is pretty much the same with better coverage.. I'll skip it since I'm buying 3 from that collection already
yeah i personally prefer Everybody Scream over AVMU, mainly bc i’m not a huge multichrome flakie fan but yeah it just has better coverage and basically the same color lol

I love the collab and the packaging is top tier for sure. I agree with a few others though, the colors aren't my favorite. Rag Doll and My Bugs! were the stand outs to me, but the purple and red didn't feel special enough to be in a limited edition set. Thanks for the swatches!

I’m so on the fence! Love the concept and the names but some of the colours just aren’t calling to me. Are pumpkin king and everybody scream true glitters (ie a pain in the butt to remove)??
aw i get that! I didn’t wear them long enough to know how stubborn they are for removal, but I would imagine Pumpkin King would need somee elbow grease bc it has the micro hex glitters, I think Everybody Scream would be easier bc they’re even tinier, but maybe annoying in the way that they would get all over your skin lol
If you use the soak off method for glitters (use polish remover soaked pads and caps for 5-10 mins) it’s a breeze to remove. Just hydrate your nails after with oil or cream. Glitter polish is too fun and beautiful to miss out on! 😄✨
It's a fun collection, but I'm a little bummed that Rag Doll is so close to Sabertooth and Everybody Scream is so close to A Very Merry Unbirthday. I'm not sure I can justify those two when I already own Sabertooth and AVMU. I know for sure I want What a Brilliant Nose, but I'm so undecided about the rest.

Tbh I only ordered the nail file. The polishes look pretty but I'm not in love with any of them enough to buy. Plus I promised myself I wouldn't buy any nail polish this month haha.

I really thought Rag Doll was going to glow blue 😢 I wonder if it’s just more difficult to make non-green glow in the dark polish 🤔
i knoww i was really hoping for that! 😓 yeah I wonder, but I’ve seen Orly do diff colors in this same smooth, non-grainy finish.. but i think those are toppers and not polishes, so maybe using other colors would make them weaker, kinda similar to My Bugs having a more opaque base? idk lol fingers crossed they’ll work on blue or purple gitd for next year! 🤞🏼

I ordered the day it was released and it still hasn’t even shipped. It’s my first order with them so I’m not sure if this is their normal turnaround time but it’s kind of disappointing.

oh no thats unfortunate to hear! i havent even tried it because I always grab my Cirque one 🙈 i have had rougher/course experiences with other indie brand files but the Cirque has felt the most gentle for me, and i have thin nails! maybe you can pick that up during their BF sale 🤞🏼

This collection is kind of disappointing. There’s not one that makes me go “so unique, I need this!” Also, everybody scream looks like it would be flash reactive with all of that silver, also a let down.
aw sorry you don’t love these! yeah finish wise they’re a bit more simple than their previous collabs that had flakies, magnetics etc, but I know a lot of people didn’t love the more chaotic mix 😅 and i can see what you mean about the purple looking like it has reflective glitter, I think a lot of people have gotten tired of that too so maybe thats why they went with regular glitter
