  • With a name that harkens back to rugged Blazers of yore, the 2019 Chevrolet Blazer forges…er…blazes its own path; though that path probably won’t involve unpaved roads. Crafted for urban and suburban use, the latest Blazer rides and steers in satisfying fashion while treating occupants to a roomy, comfortable, tech-filled cabin. Add daring style and you’ve got an SUV that is, as the kids say, “lit”. Heck, even Kelley Blue Book’s Micah Muzio likes the new Chevy Blazer. Follow along to hear why.

At first I thought it was a hoax that were bringing back the Blazer name. Awesome that you added that plug about KBB, I actually turned to KBB reviews when I was considering buying a used 1999 Nissan Maxima GLE for $800 back in 2016, and I took ownership of the Maxima January 2017. I turned to KBB reviews again when I was pursuing a 2014 VW Jetta. So yeah KBB is my go to. You're great Micah.

      @@MatthewShaw-ui6dw Every car with start/stop is going to be junk before it's 10 years old. The excessive wear created by stopping and restarting an engine 100's of times per day for years is guaranteed to cause premature internal failure. This "fuel saving" technology is frankly just a gimmick, and will shorten lifespans of any car using it dramatically.

The upgraded engine in the edge is also much faster than the one of the blazer. Paying 50k for a Chevy blazer with its small size and low power is a joke. The edge st starts at 43k with many great features. The blazer really just lacks with things like lane centering and other standard safety features.

    If KBB, especially Micah, is impressed by the Blazer, it must be really damn good. It's almost jaw dropping and shocking! I've never seen a KBB video that gives any GM car more than a meh. Frankly, the exterior and interior designs are very distinctive compared to all of the very plain vanilla, COTS CUVs in the market today with a very impressive power train. I'm going to test drive one around Memorial Day and plan to buy a Premier.

    When I saw initial mockups, I derided its lack of traditional Blazer touches - body-on-frame design, V8, 4X4, off-road ability, and simplicity. But after seeing this in video and actually on the road here, I really do like it. That Premiere looks stunning, especially in that color combination, and the overall package seems to be very well-suited to compete with other mid-size SUVs. GM is slowly, but surely, getting their act together again (shame vehicles like the Impala are going soon though).

      X3, Q5, GLC, RDX all start around 40k. You can easily get a mid trim model for 50k. The blazer just isn’t worth 50k. It’s a chevy that is built on the same platform as the Acadia, XT5, engine out of a camaro v6, no special features of this car stand out other than the style and the name. Atleast the XT5 is a Cadillac.

    • @fields1
      @fields1 5 лет назад +3

      - JPL - looks like you haven't been doing the pricing. A fully loaded RDX Advance AWD tops out around $47,000, a well equipped GLC, X3, Q5 can be had for right around $50K.

    • @fields1
      @fields1 5 лет назад +4

      - JPL - and they're premium brands with much better quality materials inside, more room and likely much better resale than a Chevy. I see this being a huge flop at the prices they're charging.
