  • @1_Papa

    If I were in the market for a CUV (I am not!) it would have to be for one that gives me the most for the least amount of money. At $52,000, that would open me up to a top of the line Hyundai Palisade, Kia Telluride, Toyota Highlander, Subaru Ascent, Ford Explorer (though with no optional equipment), and even Chevy's own Traverse. But that's not the real issue here.
    The real issue is, this vehicle (and especially at its price points) has to be everything that most people want. Granted, it's sales dictate that a lot of people like it, but with a proper Ford Bronco coming, not to mention that an all-new Ford Edge is due soon, and both of them offering much more, I don't see the "B-Laser" being a hit for very long. And this vehicle never says "Camaro" to me; more like "Malibu", "Equinox", "Cruze", or even "Old Jeep Cherokee". This vehicle is a whole lot of good but not great, wrapped in the wrong package that will appeal to soccer moms and suburban dads for a short time at best. Grade: C.
    Btw, welcome back Nathan. Great video. Grade: A+!

    The new Blazer looks like an expensive disappointment. Its the same job Honda did with the Passport. Was to just take their full SUV and cut it down from a 3rd row seat model. As Honda used the Pilot to make the Passport, Chevy did same with the Traverse to make the Blazer. In all honesty, I would take the Passport over the Blazer any day, even with the RS trim.
    GM really dropped the ball here, especially for turning the Blazer and Trailblazer into generic crossovers. Gotta give Ford props to build a true niche Wrangler competitor while keeping a fairly broad appeal with three main models.

    The K5 Blazer didn't even go anywhere really, it became the Tahoe.
    When I was growing up, the only thing in production being called a Blazer were rounded S10 derived versions, so I really don't mind the naming for this thing that much.
    And at sea level, there isn't much of a performance difference between this and an ST at all, due to the ST's weight. If I had to chop this class, I'd probably get one of these, more modestly optioned though.
    Definitely pricey when you throw all the options at it, good thing you don't have to do that. Problem is, these things are selling like hotcakes, so GM isn't likely to do much with its pricing strategy.

    The GMC Jimmy came from WW2 guys nicknaming their trucks.

    Would I choose this over a loaded Acura RDX w/ SH-AWD for $3,000 less??? Hmm...This is a nice crossover. This is a buy (not a lease). Take away some of the sportiness and you might be driving an upscale Buick (or this is what the XT4 should have been - would prefer this over the XT4)). Wish all these NA 6 cylinders (whether GM, Infiniti, or Lexus) would have more low end torque. They rely too much on horsepower to get them off the line.

    Even as a car guy, I have trouble telling the difference between the Blazer, trailblazer, traverse, and Equinox. Sadly, who is going to buy the $40k crossover when you can’t tell it from its $25k little brother? I feel like GM missed the Mark so far with the Blazer that this a sign they may not survive post-pandemic.

    No one pays the full price. I've talked to two people who have a blazer. They didn't pay full price. They liked them a lot. I actually see several of these every time I go to town. So people are buying these.

    Chevy hit it right on the street good motor ok mpg for a big package, but a Blazer that is like last in its class offroad and less towing than the S10 Blazer bad. It is just a family Camero and where is the SS, and 50000 is a lot of money because for 60000 you can get a Stingray Corvette. The bottom line a family car with a little sportiness, Chevy you are full of family vehicles, can you not give a least one offroad two-door vehicle, you have everything else.

    They should have made it compete with the Audi S Q5 at the price of the RS. They should of put in the v8 455 hp. Or a twin turbo v6 400hp and make it awd. Because they came out the box half stepping no one is looking at this car anymore. Everyone moved to the Branco.

    • @jacobyo99
      @jacobyo99 3 года назад

      This is a front wheel drive platform. You really think they would develop a rear wheel drive platform just so they can shove a V8 in it?

    • @marcusablpn
      @marcusablpn 3 года назад

      jts0099 well I’m not even saying rear wheel drive. I want them to go further and make it Awd some of the models are already AWD. Chevy put v8’s in front wheel drive cars in the 2000’s so it wouldn’t be that crazy of an idea.

  • @johnleslie9493
    @johnleslie9493 3 года назад +1

    All the vehicles you mentioned that compete with the B-Lazy are a much better value (well, maybe not Murano). The base price for this heap is $30k, which includes an anemic 195hp 4cylinder and bare bones features. For another 2 grand you can buy a base Honda Pilot with a 3.5V6 with loads of standard features and quality everything. Or for the same price you can get a Durango with a true truck frame, rear wheel drive, a 100 more horsepower and loads more room. Seriously, Andre, this Chevy is one fancy-looking waste of money.
