It also scratches that itch when you get out in the woods with your saddle when you're feeling a little down because hunting season is over! LOL
First off: great shooting Now for the tips: • keep your pack on your back. Will make hoisting your bow a lot easier. • put your bow hanger at a height that allows you to keep your bow grip about chest high. • continue to play with your tether height to find what’s most comfortable for you. • if all the camera gear + hunting gear begins to take its toll on you, consider one sticking to save a little on weight. As well as saving on time. Especially with setting up and taking down all the camera gear.

i like to clip my rope to the bottom of my bow. especially when the leaves start falling, less of a mess on your fletchings and won’t get mud or dirt in your nocks

Yea, you just disconnect that black piece that’s on the end of the rope. Just make sure to not let the tag end retract lol. I tied a plastic carabiner on mine! Thanks for checking out the channel!
Great video, man. You mentioned you run a bino chest harness. Do you run that bino harness, a pack and the saddle yoke at the same time? Is it doable/comfortable? I like the idea if the yoke straps but this was a dilemma i was thinking on, having that much strapping the shoulders..
@@dangorghuber2362 yes, I run them all at the same time. I don’t know how people saddle hunt without the yolk system “suspenders”. It’s made my life much better while both ascending the tree and also getting dressed at hunting height. I always felt like my saddle was falling off of me while ascending the tree with platforms and sticks hanging from the saddle. The bino harness was another major improvement. I have everything I need at my finger tips. It stores my binos, rangefinder, cell phone, knife, and milkweed pouch. I ascend the tree with my pack on, but hang it at hunting height. None of it gets in the way of one another in my opinion.
@EasternWild ok great to hear! I was hoping you'd have a favorable opinion on it. So in order of application to your body, you run the yoke strap, then bino harness, then pack I assume?
I am deciding on regular or xl, same saddle. 6”2, 220, 36-38 waist. Per specs, regular appears to be the way to go, however, I have read that the xl may be beneficial for hip pinch and comfort. Unfortunately, I can not find a retailer to try both sizes. Considering your experience with you xl, what are your thoughts? Great informative video btw. Greatly appreciated. Ep
@@EP-xo9ed I think you’re teetering between sizes. The XL does have more fabric and a larger pleat so it feels really comfy. I didn’t try a regular, but the rep at Tethrd said since I was so close to XL (I’m a 38 waist as well) to just go that route and enjoy the benefits of the larger pleat. For what its worth I'm 6'6" 290 and exclusively use a saddle when I'm in a tree. Honestly, I feel more confident and safer than I used to in hang ons. The XL trophyline saddle has a ton of room in it.
I am older and heavier than you. I say that because I just do pov in my videos. You should see how I climb. I use the S.M.A.R.T. One Stix (NO SLACK) Method. Being a bigger guy, I love how easy it is. It is slick! I'm about to leave for the woods to film how to get 720 degree shooting from the saddle. I climb like no other. Hope you try it. God Bless.
I put my bibs on at the base of the tree, then my saddle goes over them. Once I’ve reached hunting height I throw my coat on. I’m never disconnected. If that doesn’t answer your question let me know and I’ll try and explain better.

@@landonstark8735 yea, I climb with bibs on but fully opened in the front and the side zips on the legs to ventilate while ascending. The coat doesn’t interfere with the saddle at all at hunting height. I slip off the tetherd suspenders, throw on the coat, then put the suspenders back on over top the coat. This has been the best way that I’ve found to do it.

It works extremely well. I really should’ve shown how effective it is in the video. It keeps my knees together and doesn’t allow them to spread apart which is what I find uncomfortable when sitting. The only downside to using it under your knees is you have to reach down and loosen it to stand up when you need to shoot. The pros outweigh the cons in my opinion! Thanks for watching! 🤙🏻

And once I ordered them and tried them in backyard. Man there’s nothing better to compare to. Order the small pouch with it and it’s so easy to carry up tree. Don’t be scared of noise from the ratchet strap clicks. You can keep it to a minimum

Yea, we don't have wind like that in KY. I choose bigger trees unless smaller diameter trees is all that's available. I like being hidden behind the tree for one. This tree was just for demonstration for the video. Thanks for checking out the channel!
I wouldn't put my platform that far away from the top step of my last stick and I hope you pick a bigger tree when you hunt. You will stick way out on a small tree like that v
I like to get a couple extra feet with my platform being higher than my sticks. There is no inherent danger to doing it that way, it’s just whatever works for the individual. The tree used in the video was for demonstration purposes. With that said, this also shows the benefits to saddles in being able to get in any tree. Thx for the feedback.
@ryanpate6215 that’s the benefit, is being able to swing around and use that step as an extension of the platform. I’ve made myself comfortable with using my foot against the tree either my other foot on the platform post to swing around the tree for awkward shots. I got a question. How do you put your bibs and coat on over the saddle while up in the air and not being disconnected?

Yea, we don't have wind like that in KY. I choose bigger trees unless smaller diameter trees is all that's available. I like being hidden behind the tree for one. This tree was just for demonstration for the video. Thanks for checking out the channel!
I wouldn't put my platform that far away from the top step of my last stick and I hope you pick a bigger tree when you hunt. You will stick way out on a small tree like that v
I like to get a couple extra feet with my platform being higher than my sticks. There is no inherent danger to doing it that way, it’s just whatever works for the individual. The tree used in the video was for demonstration purposes. With that said, this also shows the benefits to saddles in being able to get in any tree. Thx for the feedback.
@EasternWild I like to use my top step as additional step off with my platform.
@ryanpate6215 that’s the benefit, is being able to swing around and use that step as an extension of the platform. I’ve made myself comfortable with using my foot against the tree either my other foot on the platform post to swing around the tree for awkward shots. That still allows me the couple extra feet I gain with putting my platform higher. Thanks a bunch for checking out the channel 🤙🏻
