Some of Your info is wrong. Sony said Pre orders would be thr next day on the 17th but it was the retailers that jumped the gun on the 16th. Also all PS4 game saves are transferable to PS5 for backwards compatible mode (as the games will be the exact same game with NO internal changes made). In BC mode, the only possible change made to a game is console hardware based when some games qualify for "boost mode". Which just upscale the resolution and frame rate only. The game saves that don't transfer are when there's a separate version made for PS5 where things are different and changes have been made internally within the game. Example is PS4 insomniac spider-man vs PS5 spider-man where there have been internal changes made. The game is no longer the same game. It's a different version now.
*Remember when you got a free upgrade from Destiny, Battlefield 4, etc when going from 360 to Xbox one and I think PS3 to PS4, those were completely separate/enhanced/remastered versions that had performance fundamentals of the game changed around just like with Spider-Man here, and also you could upload your saves to the cloud and transfer them to the Xbox One remaster/enhanced versions of Borderlands 2, Castle Crashers etc* *Aka Microsoft and those games allowed your saves to be carried over to completely different versions in completely different generations, this is the exact same situation that Spider-Man is in yet they are not even attempting to allow you to carry over all of your hard worked for saves reguardless of generation while Microsoft does, so what's Sony's excuse?*

@@MrRedeemed and those are the games that Playstation is referring to when they say it's up to the developers to make that decision on allowing cross gen saves to transfer for games like those. Last gen to current gen was the same. Only some games allowed campaign(offline / single player saves transfer), some only allowed online save data. Some also didn't allow free upgrades either. Like Activision had COD Ghosts at the time. And the PS4/XB1 version had internal changes and added modes from there PS3/360 and offered a $10 upgrade for a limited time. While others you had to completely repurchase full price. These internal game upgrade versions are always up to the developers as there are who build the games.
The problem was so widespread that Sony even botched the preorders through their program. That leads me to believe the fault lies with Sony, not the retailers.
It's always the manufacturers fault. It's up to them to enforce the deadlines, after all they're not a green rookie at this. It's probably more down to the fact they have limited stocks and they clusterf****d the supply channel communications. It's a poor showing whoever fault it is, especially if you're one of the unlucky ones that's likely waiting till next year now.

nope not lately and not for the ps5. they hate the look of it, they hate the size, they made fun of the teardown video (where's the one for the series X btw? no criticism for MS on that), the OS is too large, there's no game subscription service, you can't play games from 1997 on it, you can't use old controllers with it, and on and on it goes... the blue checkmarks have decided: ps5 sucks. so glad consumers don't care about their doom and gloom forecasts as next gen pre-orders are overwhelmingly in favor of the ps5 (80%).
Pre orders were set for the next day, not later that day. Retailers like Wal-Mart just decided to begin pre orders immediately after the details were announced.

Xbox has done an incredible job of evening the playing field and as long as both systems are well stocked they will continue to sell through to consumers.

UI hasn't been shown because they don't want Microsoft to replicate "certain" features before launch. Spiderman saves DO carry over in BC mode, the remaster has new trophies so you can't save progress. Destruction All Stars isn't a first party game, their micro transaction isn't Sony's responsibility

Do you have evidence about Sony not releasing the UI? MS has all but released theirs, so any copying will be patently obvious and MS isn't concerned about them copy some of the Xbox features. You also get to remember it's a bit late in the day to start rolling out major changes to the UI. If you want to be blunt Sony is probably doubling down on getting the UI polished before release you can argue that's a good or a bad point, but it does remain. Same for MS they're likely to have a day one update. Both Sony and MS will have a fairly clear idea of what each others console is going to be like now, after all they're both in the wild.
@@thirdenvoqation7735 The UI seen is from a prototype PS5, they only show the startup and system memory (not exactly full UI). Sony also have known active patents for its UI, so that could be your evidence that they want to keep hidden. Until the patents are approved atleast. The majority of the consoles are already made and sat in warehouses or being shipped, so and changes to the UI now wouldn't be seen anyway until the ps5 servers go live. Babajide K saying Microsoft might steal ideas is wrong, he should have just said any competitors.

Spider-Man’s were.... they went from the ground up as explained in the blog post. So no I don’t think I’m wrong. It’s still the majority of remasters being sold. It’s far more than just added fidelity or frame rates.
The remaster is nothing more than a texture and ray tracing patch. The old game and the new DLC are on the same engine. The new assets were built for the DLC, so it really wouldn't take much effort to patch it into the old game. It's no different than the upgrade patches other companies are doing. "Remaster" usually involves a new engine/code architecture/etc. to justify making you pay again.

As to your list I have several retorts. No Sony has not been confusing on cross save. It is simply up to developers. Easy, end of story. If there is a game you are wondering about, look it up. The internet is great isn't it? As for your calling not having revealed the UI and what the create button does two missteps with a month still left before launch is just plain asinine. Unlike Microsoft, Sony chose to innovate instead of barely doing jack squat. Microsoft is valued at over a trillion dollars! That is a million million dollars! Most companies are valued in the millions or low billions. So that is a ridiculous gripe. @ I guess we will have to agree to disagree on this issue. Yes you are correct more consoles and pc's are sold than ever before. However that does not necessarily mean all game companies benefit from this. But what is not debatable is that the cost of producing games has gone up exponentially over the last decade. And as we switch to this new generation it's going to go up even more sharply. And yes combined with inflation I do not think it's not unreasonable. I myself like to support companies that make the entertainment that I so enjoy. I also run my own business so it's not an issue for me. And really we are talking about 10 bucks when it comes down to it. I do agree that not every game should be 70 bucks. It all depends on the size and quality of the experience. These youtube personalities are only fueling a toxic atmosphere and sound like entitled brats who want everything instantly and free. The term consumer friendly is overused and has lost its meaning. I agree with everything you said, including the price hikes. All companies will eventually follow suit for next gen games. Raytracing, global illumination, next gen AI, next gen textures, etc etc are completely new technologies that have to be learned, put into production pipelines, and probably require an expanded work force to reach deadlines. What you said about cross save between PS4 and PS5 is incorrect. EVERY backwards compatible game WILL be cross save compatible as well. When different versions are made, like remasters, it is up to the developer to allow the files to be transferred between generations, the same will apply to Xbox Series consoles.

Thank God for the retailer's going live on the first wave of pre orders because that slowed down the scalpers from getting systems before true gamers were able to get one. I'm hoping people don't buy systems on Ebay.
He's right though, it's pretty stupid not giving atleast 4k and 60 fps as a free upgrade for PS4 version of Spider-Man when every other developers is doing it! Performance can be boosted via simple patch. I'm sure there are many other PS4 games which will get free upgrade on ps5. So why not this game?! Just forcing you to buy ultimate edition if you wanna experience first game and not giving separate upgrade for PS4 version is pretty stupid and weird.
They could've just added a boost mode like GoT is getting, sure but they changed the character model for Peter Parker in Miles Morales and for the next Spider-Man 2 game. So for consistency, they went back and remastered the whole original game. More work has gone into it, hence why it's being sold as a seperate released Remaster and not a free Boost Mode patch.

Sounds like Microsoft did an upgrade to the same box, even if you listen to the marking for smart save, "if you want the higher frame rate and better graphics get the series x" otherwise your good with the one x? doesn't sound like much of a change. Maybe thats cause the One X is only 2 years old and they shouldn't be selling a next Gen so soon. Foolish is the person who buys a new console every two years. One - One S - One X (promoted as next gen) now series X 4th system in 7 years each promoted as an upgrade with the One X "truly next gen" which obviously it was because you can use the same controller, games everything. I rather my next Gen be all new, not just a new interface and a few extra teraflops.

Today people are more prone to call out Sony for fumbles than microsoft because people are holding Sony at higher standards. But it's very interesting and disheartening seeing a journalist make an opinionated video without an objective angle in comparison only fueling the fire in an already toxic atmosphere using click bait titles and weak points for balance. If anything it would have been a better video if they had made a story titled "All the mistakes made in the coming Generation." Because there are actually a lot of shared errors and secrecy by both companies. For example to show how to spin a story the other way: Why haven't we seen benchmarks for the Series S? Why no next gen Benchmarks until just recently for the Series X (except Dirt 5 and Halo Infinite which were not impressive.) The Series X Pre-Orders were also a debacle bombarded by bots. 1 week preparation and even after seeing Sony drop the ball they didn't make any improvements or adjustments.This is more of a story about retailers and their ethical standards than it is a story about Microsoft and Sony. Why are heads at Microsoft being so dodgy when asked about price hikes for their future games? They haven't given a confirming yes or no. Why are some youtubers not able to play all their games on the Series X and keep getting a "none compatible" error. Will all their games be ready by release? They only have 4 weeks to get all the games ready. Why haven't they shown off the UI fully? Why are they bombarding the youtubers from showing off the full UI? In reality both companies have made a lot of fumbles here but it seems that today people are holding Sony at higher standards and ready to jump at them for mistakes that can equally be compared or pinned against Microsoft. If anything this video shows how entitled and whinny people are this generation. Sony doesn't have to copy every move Microsoft makes when it comes to marketing. Upgrades, remakes, and remasters are a different talking point but will be equal as well in weight by both companies. In the past the PS4 was handed out 2 weeks before release, and the UI was showed off around the same time; expect the same thing here. Do the guys at gamingbolt not know the difference between a basic Texture and FPS upgrade from a Remaster? And Since when do saves transfer from an original game to a remaster? Are they aware that Sony confirmed that saves will be passed from the PS4 to the PS5 for nearly all their games in backwards compatibility? I love how people are upset that we aren’t getting the upgrade for Spider Man for free when that game came out a few years ago, most of the “free” upgrades are to games that came out closer to the release of the PS5 console.
All of these to me, suggest a less than ideal system for $500 at launch. If I purchase anything for that much money it better be spot on. I’ve owned PlayStation since the first console, but I’ll gladly wait until 2nd quarter 2021 for the bugs to be worked out. Lastly, I can’t see paying $70 for a title with micro transactions. Poor marketing imo; why not increase the price and slowly introduce them as people adjust?
I think my main gripe is honestly the pricing of digital downloads. Living in Sweden, physical copies are roughly 20-30% cheaper than the ones on psn, and stores are not allowed to sell codes for digital games. This is a dangerous monopoly.
Gentleman Gamer they definitely should. Especially since they can never be re-sold or returned. The only reason they get away with something like that is due to the exclusive rights to digital sales.

The Spider-Man upgrade issue is complicated. They have literally recast their actor of Spider-Man for whatever reason probably for the sequel so it’s the same actor between the 2 so we don’t think it’s another Spider-Man miles morales situation. They have done a lot more for the upgrade then most devs are doing for their upgrades and tbh I’m more than happy to pay for the upgrades if the work is put in to make the upgrades/ps5 version noticeably better and not just upgraded resolution and framerate. The whole save thing and “smart delivery” will be the same on Xbox if a certain games save doesn’t work on ps5 it probably won’t work on Xbox either and vice versa if it works on Xbox it will work on Sony. It’s gonna be down to the devs for both but your ps4 saves will work on the ps5 backwards compatibility. Sony are jus covering their arses by saying not every game will be supported and it’s up to the devs. Which is exactly what Xbox are doing too just they make it less obvious and are all “smart delivery this, smart delivery that” whilst keeping it quiet generally that not every game will support smart delivery and it’s just Xbox first party games that will for sure support it and most of those new first party games won’t even be out for at least 3-5 years with the exception of a handful coming soon-ish. Third party games it will be down to the devs again some will support smart delivery on both systems and some won’t if it’s supported on Xbox you can assume it’s also supported and free on ps5. Cyberpunk is a prime example of this. Same applies for the 70 dollar thing. It’s gonna be across the board an not just Sony doing it. They just came out and admitted it first and if they keep making their first party games like they are especially with no micro transactions it’s perfectly fine. Xbox will do the same but their games will almost certainly have micro transactions too in most of them at least as they currently do now.
Maybe they do it wrong but let’s all be a bit more positive towards Sony. They put a lot of effort to deliver enough consoles, and backwards compatibility. Why should I care that the DualShock 4 isn’t supported? I think the DualSense is even more comfortable. Sure, you have to buy extra controllers but all three giants in the video game industry have flaws in their systems and make mistakes (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo). As long as the games are good, I’m not complaining about any of the big three.

I disagree. Maybe I missed something, but I don't know what the UI looks like, and don't know much in the way of how comfortable the new controller is, or how the features impact the gameplay specifically. I would actually say the pre-order situation was the very least of my personal issues with how the PS5 is being revealed. I was pretty hyped for this console at the beginning of this year, but their lack of transparency has me completely uninterested for now-my PS4 backlog and Switch are more than enough to keep me happy while I wait for the early adopters to test all of the unknowns. The inevitable, cheaper, PS5 Pro is going to be the way to go IMO.

At this point, learning about the UI (as ONE example) absolutely won't change anything because I didn't and won't be buying one until I get a holistic and tangible idea of what I will be paying for. "Soon enough" doesn't cut it. I totally get it if none of these things matter to you, but they are far from nit-picky. There are a good number of us out there, albeit a minority, that don't want to buy into this "trust us. Give us your money, but...you know, TRUST US" launch tactic. I think there is a completely good and sound argument in favor of waiting to see what this thing looks like in a year + and then making a more informed purchase. But, you know, someone has to test this thing before they iron out the kinks, so it might as well be the ones who would buy this no matter what on day one. Honestly though, if you take that last sentence with a grain of salt, the fact still remains that waiting is going to work out really well regardless of the state of this console out of the box. Improvement WILL be made, and cost WILL go down. I love my PS4 Pro and will continue to play it well into the next year, along with my Switch. But I won't be hopping on board the PS5 hype train until I know my money is going to be well spent.

The reason is because PlayStation is actually trying new things with the tech so some games may not be able to work which is the same reason why you can’t use a DualShock 4 with a ps5 game. Xbox on the other hand keeps their console the same and just try’s to upgrade graphics
It's funny how loads of gamers get criticised for pre ordering games but not for pre ordering a £450 console where they have no idea, the features it comes with & no UI demonstration! Obviously, we expect it to be awesome, but everything has been so cagey & left to the last minute with next gen!

A popular opinion is that the PS5 preorder confusion was not Sony’s fault. The preorder debacle is the only thing they really screwed up. I missed my opportunity to order one and I probably won’t be able to get one until sometime next year. I will not give scalpers a single penny. Well on the bright side, there will be more games to choose from in 2021.

In all honesty Sony didn't say Pre-orders will be available later that day. They actually said pre-orders will start tomorrow (Sep 17th) walmart then came out and said they won't let us wait and opened the flood gate 😂 Spiderman remaster saves won't work bcuz it has been reworked so much, hell there will even be new trophies so logically it won't work with ur old save. You regular save works with BC.

arguably microsoft kinda force sony to do this so they could be early to the game after xbox stole their thunder on ps birthday...but considering a lot of the world has been affected by covid it also helped avoid people gathering and queuing outside longer than they needed too... but to top it off you had scalpers and bots plus retailers selling more than they actually had -- so technically, most of this was out of their control. Xbox had similar issues...although they also had the issue of many people getting confused over the naming of the console and actually getting the wrong console... to me, that's worse I think with some of these things it's probably because they are not completed yet... the UI isn't in it's final build...the create feature probably isn't finished yet and they are stomping out bugs etc...dualshock controllers are supported partial in that they work with ps4 games - I imagine down the line we will get full support ... but it's similar with the psvr - it's compatible with ps5 BUT you have to use dualshock and the old camera...its not ideal BUT you are technically playing old games and using old hardware...

Sony said Pre orders would be thr next day on the 17th but it was the retailers that jumped the gun on the 16th.
Also all PS4 game saves are transferable to PS5 for backwards compatible mode (as the games will be the exact same game with NO internal changes made). In BC mode, the only possible change made to a game is console hardware based when some games qualify for "boost mode". Which just upscale the resolution and frame rate only. The game saves that don't transfer are when there's a separate version made for PS5 where things are different and changes have been made internally within the game. Example is PS4 insomniac spider-man vs PS5 spider-man where there have been internal changes made. The game is no longer the same game. It's a different version now.
Sony also explained the most features of the create button through a Q/A blog post. This video is made for the sake of being made.
*Remember when you got a free upgrade from Destiny, Battlefield 4, etc when going from 360 to Xbox one and I think PS3 to PS4, those were completely separate/enhanced/remastered versions that had performance fundamentals of the game changed around just like with Spider-Man here, and also you could upload your saves to the cloud and transfer them to the Xbox One remaster/enhanced versions of Borderlands 2, Castle Crashers etc*
*Aka Microsoft and those games allowed your saves to be carried over to completely different versions in completely different generations, this is the exact same situation that Spider-Man is in yet they are not even attempting to allow you to carry over all of your hard worked for saves reguardless of generation while Microsoft does, so what's Sony's excuse?*

@@MrRedeemed and those are the games that Playstation is referring to when they say it's up to the developers to make that decision on allowing cross gen saves to transfer for games like those. Last gen to current gen was the same. Only some games allowed campaign(offline / single player saves transfer), some only allowed online save data. Some also didn't allow free upgrades either. Like Activision had COD Ghosts at the time. And the PS4/XB1 version had internal changes and added modes from there PS3/360 and offered a $10 upgrade for a limited time. While others you had to completely repurchase full price. These internal game upgrade versions are always up to the developers as there are who build the games.
Rogue retailers were to blame for the preorder issue, not Sony.
The problem was so widespread that Sony even botched the preorders through their program. That leads me to believe the fault lies with Sony, not the retailers.

I never said the Xbox didn't. Both systems will extremely hard to obtain and will continue to sell very well until the middle of next year. Xbox has done an incredible job of evening the playing field and as long as both systems are well stocked they will continue to sell through to consumers.

Do you have evidence about Sony not releasing the UI? MS has all but released theirs, so any copying will be patently obvious and MS isn't concerned about them copy some of the Xbox features. You also get to remember it's a bit late in the day to start rolling out major changes to the UI. If you want to be blunt Sony is probably doubling down on getting the UI polished before release you can argue that's a good or a bad point, but it does remain. Same for MS they're likely to have a day one update. Both Sony and MS will have a fairly clear idea of what each others console is going to be like now, after all they're both in the wild.
@@thirdenvoqation7735 The UI seen is from a prototype PS5, they only show the startup and system memory (not exactly full UI). Sony also have known active patents for its UI, so that could be your evidence that they want to keep hidden. Until the patents are approved atleast.
The majority of the consoles are already made and sat in warehouses or being shipped, so and changes to the UI now wouldn't be seen anyway until the ps5 servers go live.

Spider-Man’s were.... they went from the ground up as explained in the blog post. So no I don’t think I’m wrong. It’s still the majority of remasters being sold. It’s far more than just added fidelity or frame rates.
The remaster is nothing more than a texture and ray tracing patch. The old game and the new DLC are on the same engine. The new assets were built for the DLC, so it really wouldn't take much effort to patch it into the old game. It's no different than the upgrade patches other companies are doing. "Remaster" usually involves a new engine/code architecture/etc. to justify making you pay again.

What an absolutely stupid list of gripes. There are only two that are legit and that is having microtransactions in a 70 dollar game and not being able to buy the Spiderman remaster separately. As to your list I have several retorts. No Sony has not been confusing on cross save. It is simply up to developers. Easy, end of story. If there is a game you are wondering about, look it up. The internet is great isn't it? As for your calling not having revealed the UI and what the create button does two missteps with a month still left before launch is just plain asinine. Unlike Microsoft, Sony chose to innovate instead of barely doing jack squat. Since everybody copied their share buttom idea they are waiting for as close to launch as possible to reveal their innovations so Microsoft doesn't copy them again. It also keeps some excitement and mystery surrounding the Ps5 unlike Microsoft which revealed virtually everything there is to know months ago. Next thing I'm not really sure why everybody thinks since you bought an old copy of something you should just get infinite free upgrades to a game regardless of how much more time and money was spent improving it. Insomniac has stated they have worked over a year on the remaster adding ray tracing and making it 60fps. It is now essentially a different game. Just because Microsoft has to bribe people to come to their ecosystem regardless of how many countless millions they've spent on the upgrade doesn't mean every company should. Microsoft is valued at over a trillion dollars! That is a million million dollars! Most companies are valued in the millions or low billions. So that is a ridiculous gripe. Finally to all the people bitching about 70 dollar games, just stop. With inflation the 60 you spent on Ps3 and xbox 360 games and Ps4 xbox 1 games would be equivilent to over 70 bucks now. Furthermore it is more expensive than ever to make games. The cost didn't go up for nearly 20 years while everything else in the world did. So use your brain and relax. However that does not necessarily mean all game companies benefit from this. But what is not debatable is that the cost of producing games has gone up exponentially over the last decade. And as we switch to this new generation it's going to go up even more sharply. And yes combined with inflation I do not think it's not unreasonable. I myself like to support companies that make the entertainment that I so enjoy. I also run my own business so it's not an issue for me. And really we are talking about 10 bucks when it comes down to it. I do agree that not every game should be 70 bucks. It all depends on the size and quality of the experience. I agree with everything you said, including the price hikes. All companies will eventually follow suit for next gen games. Raytracing, global illumination, next gen AI, next gen textures, etc etc are completely new technologies that have to be learned, put into production pipelines, and probably require an expanded work force to reach deadlines. I assume this has something to do with the price hikes as well.

What you said about cross save between PS4 and PS5 is incorrect. EVERY backwards compatible game WILL be cross save compatible as well. When different versions are made, like remasters, it is up to the developer to allow the files to be transferred between generations, the same will apply to Xbox Series consoles.

They could've just added a boost mode like GoT is getting, sure but they changed the character model for Peter Parker in Miles Morales and for the next Spider-Man 2 game.
So for consistency, they went back and remastered the whole original game. More work has gone into it, hence why it's being sold as a seperate released Remaster and not a free Boost Mode patch.

Today people are more prone to call out Sony for fumbles than microsoft because people are holding Sony at higher standards. But it's very interesting and disheartening seeing a journalist make an opinionated video without an objective angle in comparison only fueling the fire in an already toxic atmosphere using click bait titles and weak points for balance.
If anything it would have been a better video if they had made a story titled "All the mistakes made in the coming Generation." Because there are actually a lot of shared errors and secrecy by both companies.
For example to show how to spin a story the other way: Why haven't we seen benchmarks for the Series S? Why no next gen Benchmarks until just recently for the Series X (except Dirt 5 and Halo Infinite which were not impressive.) The Series X Pre-Orders were also a debacle bombarded by bots. 1 week preparation and even after seeing Sony drop the ball they didn't make any improvements or adjustments.This is more of a story about retailers and their ethical standards than it is a story about Microsoft and Sony. Why are heads at Microsoft being so dodgy when asked about price hikes for their future games? They haven't given a confirming yes or no. Why are some youtubers not able to play all their games on the Series X and keep getting a "none compatible" error. Will all their games be ready by release? They only have 4 weeks to get all the games ready. Why haven't they shown off the UI fully? Why are they bombarding the youtubers from showing off the full UI?
In reality both companies have made a lot of fumbles here but it seems that today people are holding Sony at higher standards and ready to jump at them for mistakes that can equally be compared or pinned against Microsoft. If anything this video shows how entitled and whinny people are this generation. Sony doesn't have to copy every move Microsoft makes when it comes to marketing. Honestly I don't care that they didn't just jump and hand out PS5s to youtubers in response; that would have been very petty. I'm more happy with the way they are trickling out information and maintaining their own strategy and identity. I'm glad they are focusing their narrative more on future gaming and accessories than they are about backwards compatibility. You can see a jarring difference with how Microsoft has been just focused about Backwards Compatibility and quick resume, and how Sony only sends out a blog confirming something they had already talked about in the road to PS5. Both consoles are going to have equal benchmarks with backwards compatibility, and you are out of your mind if you don't think that. Upgrades, remakes, and remasters are a different talking point but will be equal as well in weight by both companies. In the past the PS4 was handed out 2 weeks before release, and the UI was showed off around the same time; expect the same thing here. These guys at gamingbolt sound like entitled spoiled brats demanding for things instantly.
And since when are Remasters free? Do the guys at gamingbolt not know the difference between a basic Texture and FPS upgrade from a Remaster? And Since when do saves transfer from an original game to a remaster? This has never been done in the history of gaming. What are these guys smoking at Gamingbolt? Are they aware that Sony confirmed that saves will be passed from the PS4 to the PS5 for nearly all their games in backwards compatibility? Do they know the difference between pay to win and cosmetic micro-transactions? It seems they have made some far leaped conclusions to a game they don't know anything about; and yes both consoles will have micro-transactions this is fact. They see some exceptions to these points and then make blanketed statements toward one party and didn't bother to take the opportunity to confront the confusion the public is facing.
Both companies have made errors, and their secrecy is merited due to them being competitors. It's fair to make commentaries on these points; but for a youtube journalist to just make a one sided video without objective comparisons, research, and perspective is just fueling an already very toxic console war, and its obvious who's side they have taken. There is a lack of clear journalistic integrity here in this heavily opinionated video.
To Repeat: It would have been better to have made a video titled "All the mistakes made in the coming generation" to give perspective and not seem so subjective, spoiled and whinny. I respect my Xbox brethren, and I'm currently on gamepass for PC, but I don't respect these youtubers feeding into the console war for clicks. It's pathetic.

So which version of Spider-Man should I buy when I get a PS5? I don’t own the PS4 version, but want to play the best, graphically impressive version, but care nothing about the Miles Morales storyline.
I love how people are upset that we aren’t getting the upgrade for Spider Man for free when that game came out a few years ago, most of the “free” upgrades are to games that came out closer to the release of the PS5 console.
All of these to me, suggest a less than ideal system for $500 at launch. If I purchase anything for that much money it better be spot on. I’ve owned PlayStation since the first console, but I’ll gladly wait until 2nd quarter 2021 for the bugs to be worked out. Lastly, I can’t see paying $70 for a title with micro transactions. Poor marketing imo; why not increase the price and slowly introduce them as people adjust?
I think my main gripe is honestly the pricing of digital downloads. Living in Sweden, physical copies are roughly 20-30% cheaper than the ones on psn, and stores are not allowed to sell codes for digital games. This is a dangerous monopoly.

The PS4 launch period was absolutely purfect. This launch period for the PS5 was worse because of the new management
The Spider-Man upgrade issue is complicated. They have literally recast their actor of Spider-Man for whatever reason probably for the sequel so it’s the same actor between the 2 so we don’t think it’s another Spider-Man miles morales situation.
They have done a lot more for the upgrade then most devs are doing for their upgrades and tbh I’m more than happy to pay for the upgrades if the work is put in to make the upgrades/ps5 version noticeably better and not just upgraded resolution and framerate.
The whole save thing and “smart delivery” will be the same on Xbox if a certain games save doesn’t work on ps5 it probably won’t work on Xbox either and vice versa if it works on Xbox it will work on Sony. It’s gonna be down to the devs for both but your ps4 saves will work on the ps5 backwards compatibility. Sony are jus covering their arses by saying not every game will be supported and it’s up to the devs. Which is exactly what Xbox are doing too just they make it less obvious and are all “smart delivery this, smart delivery that” whilst keeping it quiet generally that not every game will support smart delivery and it’s just Xbox first party games that will for sure support it and most of those new first party games won’t even be out for at least 3-5 years with the exception of a handful coming soon-ish. Third party games it will be down to the devs again some will support smart delivery on both systems and some won’t if it’s supported on Xbox you can assume it’s also supported and free on ps5. Cyberpunk is a prime example of this.
Same applies for the 70 dollar thing. It’s gonna be across the board an not just Sony doing it. They just came out and admitted it first and if they keep making their first party games like they are especially with no micro transactions it’s perfectly fine. Xbox will do the same but their games will almost certainly have micro transactions too in most of them at least as they currently do now.

Maybe they do it wrong but let’s all be a bit more positive towards Sony. They put a lot of effort to deliver enough consoles, and backwards compatibility. Why should I care that the DualShock 4 isn’t supported? I think the DualSense is even more comfortable. Sure, you have to buy extra controllers but all three giants in the video game industry have flaws in their systems and make mistakes (Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo). As long as the games are good, I’m not complaining about any of the big three.

I disagree. Maybe I missed something, but I don't know what the UI looks like, and don't know much in the way of how comfortable the new controller is, or how the features impact the gameplay specifically. I would actually say the pre-order situation was the very least of my personal issues with how the PS5 is being revealed. I was pretty hyped for this console at the beginning of this year, but their lack of transparency has me completely uninterested for now-my PS4 backlog and Switch are more than enough to keep me happy while I wait for the early adopters to test all of the unknowns. The inevitable, cheaper, PS5 Pro is going to be the way to go IMO.

At this point, learning about the UI (as ONE example) absolutely won't change anything because I didn't and won't be buying one until I get a holistic and tangible idea of what I will be paying for. "Soon enough" doesn't cut it. I totally get it if none of these things matter to you, but they are far from nit-picky. There are a good number of us out there, albeit a minority, that don't want to buy into this "trust us. Give us your money, but...you know, TRUST US" launch tactic. I think there is a completely good and sound argument in favor of waiting to see what this thing looks like in a year + and then making a more informed purchase. But, you know, someone has to test this thing before they iron out the kinks, so it might as well be the ones who would buy this no matter what on day one.
Honestly though, if you take that last sentence with a grain of salt, the fact still remains that waiting is going to work out really well regardless of the state of this console out of the box. Improvement WILL be made, and cost WILL go down. I love my PS4 Pro and will continue to play it well into the next year, along with my Switch. But I won't be hopping on board the PS5 hype train until I know my money is going to be well spent.

The reason is because PlayStation is actually trying new things with the tech so some games may not be able to work which is the same reason why you can’t use a DualShock 4 with a ps5 game. Xbox on the other hand keeps their console the same and just try’s to upgrade graphics

So pulling all Xbox from Walmart wouldn't hurt them at all. Xbox division isn't even 1% of Microsoft profits.
Sony gets near 35% of it profit from PS.
So it beholden to retailers like walmart and Amazon.
While walmart would lose countless different products and contracts if they piss Microsoft off.
Amazon the only retailer that could stand up against Microsoft right now.
If it wasn't because of monopoly laws. Microsoft could buy both Sony and Nintendo with just extra cash laying around.
P.s Sony worth around 80bil... And Microsoft last report had near 150bil extra pure cash that wasn't lock into any department.

The preorder debacle is the only thing they really screwed up. I missed my opportunity to order one and I probably won’t be able to get one until sometime next year. I will not give scalpers a single penny. Well on the bright side, there will be more games to choose from in 2021.

In all honesty Sony didn't say Pre-orders will be available later that day. They actually said pre-orders will start tomorrow (Sep 17th) walmart then came out and said they won't let us wait and opened the flood gate 😂
Spiderman remaster saves won't work bcuz it has been reworked so much, hell there will even be new trophies so logically it won't work with ur old save. You regular save works with BC.
Maybe there's something I don't know, since when free upgrade to the new consoles was a thing? Did they do it when ps3 or ps4 was coming out? So why people feel they are owed a free upgrade. I didn't see no one complaining when they were making you pay for a bunch of remastered game.

I’m thinking that the people complaining about not being able to use a ps4 controller for ps5 including the dude in the vid have some sort of problem because those controllers aren’t even near the same they don’t even run on the same shit ones dualsense(ps5) and one is dualshock(ps4)

What you were smoking. PS3 was the cheapest blue ray player on the market and also be a game console, they tried to repeat the same strategy as PS2 the problem was that the blue ray technology was to fresh, so price was too steep for gamers to enter it

sony not letting people upgrade from spiderman ps4 makes complete sense..alot of people own spiderman ps4 and they'd be getting an upgrade for free(or a small fee idk)
70$ for a controller is expensive..i agree but that controller is jam-packed with features and revolutionary tech that we havent seen on last gen consoles
arguably microsoft kinda force sony to do this so they could be early to the game after xbox stole their thunder on ps birthday...but considering a lot of the world has been affected by covid it also helped avoid people gathering and queuing outside longer than they needed too... but to top it off you had scalpers and bots plus retailers selling more than they actually had -- so technically, most of this was out of their control.
Xbox had similar issues...although they also had the issue of many people getting confused over the naming of the console and actually getting the wrong console... to me, that's worse
I think with some of these things it's probably because they are not completed yet... the UI isn't in it's final build...the create feature probably isn't finished yet and they are stomping out bugs etc...dualshock controllers are supported partial in that they work with ps4 games - I imagine down the line we will get full support ... but it's similar with the psvr - it's compatible with ps5 BUT you have to use dualshock and the old camera...its not ideal BUT you are technically playing old games and using old hardware...

Lol why in the hell would your spiderman ps4 save work on the spiderman remaster? They are 2 different games...new trophies, new suits, new photo mode ect. If you play your ps4 disc in the ps5 the saves will work.
