The Midniters will always have a warm place in the heart of many people from the Imperial Valley ,CA. ( Calexico, El Centro, etc. etc.) your songs are still loved and played Great memories from all the times you guys played at the dances Your songs are part of youth and we thank you for that.
We just went to to the Chicano oldie concert at the Gibson Amp at Universal Hollywood and it was the best concert with Willie G the Midnters, Sunny Osuna, Joe Bataan, Malo, El Chicano were just a few hope they do it again ELA to the HUB city Compton.
El Mero Romeo...will never know how much he was loved. Romeo's favorite joke was...a horse walks into a bar..orders a beer...the bartender says..sure no problem..but why the long face....CLASSIC ROMEO...I, JIMMY, LARRY, THE WHOLE BAND MISSES YOU.
Plan now...see Thee Midniters on Saturday, August 30 at THEE Santa Fe Springs swapmeet. Two shows for the price of admission. Jimmy Espinoza, Larry Rendon. Plus Bobby Loya, Bobby Naverette. To Romeo....we miss you bro. Give us peace and love.
Does anyone know the whereabouts of Roy Marquez, I lost touch with him YEARS ago. Would like to know how he is doing. Used to jam with him once in a while.I went to school with the Delgado's used to play some guitar with Louie Pineda and still am playing with Jeff Lewis. If anyone knows how to get in touch with Roy let me know. Thanks, Ron
Wasn't Romeo Prado drafted into the Army to fight in Vietnam during the bands heyday? What years did I serve? I recall a photo of him in uniform appearing on the back cover of the Unlimited album naming him as the absent member. I believe he had one composition on the album called Chile Con Soul. Not sure though as I don't want to dig through my record collection.
I wish all the OG's would get back together one last time. They are so part of my history!
Awesome!!, never get tired of listening to them..THEE best oldies group ever!..
