New studio and intro for Rai TG 1 (Italy)

- On September 8th 2022, Rai 1 introduced a fresh new set for its news programme Telegiornale TG1. The launch was slightly derailed by the news of the death of Queen Elizabeth II. See the breaking news and the first time the new studio was used in a regular programme here. What do you think of the design?
I like that new intro music ngl, keeping the classic theme while making it more modern, and that sick bass drop 🔥🔥🔥
I’ve always been a bit disappointed with Rai’s news intros as they somehow lack the finesse we see with other European public broadcasters, particularly VRT Journaal recently. This is a partial exception. I am a big fan of the new font, but the frame rate and motion is still very jerky. That’s a shame given Rai’s channels are quite nice-looking otherwise.
The music is okay - it’s kind of like RTS Dnevnik in Serbia which can never change its music, which isn’t exactly ideal - but, that said, the drumbeats are cool. But I do wish it adopted a clean, flat design like VRT Journaal/SVT Aktuellt/ČT Události or more recently TVR Telejurnal.
The European news rebrand I’m waiting for the most is NOS Journaal, as it has never rebranded even once since 2012, unlike VRT Journaal which has rebranded four times in the past six years. It’s amazing that the two Dutch-language public broadcasters are at opposite ends of the spectrum when it comes to the frequency of rebrands.
Agree. RAI has some good designs for channel branding as they collaborated with agencies, but not the case for programs.

RAI, together with the BBC, are two references for television in Europe. That melody that TG1 has been using since the '50s is adorable. It is very nice what they have done, it reminds me of TRT News but it needs a little more minimalism and technology, RAI constantly uses robotic cameras in its stages, I don't understand why it doesn't do it in its main telegiornale, in the screens in the back is possible see the pixels and this is something that should not happen. There is much to improve but it is very nice, it was time for a change!
Dont forget German ARD with Tagesschau. Despite many revamps, melody is 2nd oldest among European broadcasters. RAI is the oldest. BBC cant compare.
Thanks 💙 It's important to point out that the intro of tg1 has always had the same musical notes since it existed (1954) and it's amazing how they managed to modernize the melody without upsetting it!
That bass drop was on the new TG1 theme is so unexpected yet absolutely glorious.
Interesting day to launch new design! It definetely looks more modern that it was. Although I think they have too many screens and when they try to show them all the presenter is too small.

The new set for Rai 1's news casts couldn't come at an appropriate time, also sound wise, studio set is very echo-y (you might want to hear it with headphones).
I want to point out that in a few days the new scenography and graphics of Rai News 24 will be revealed.
Wow. I would have wondered whether it was a special studio for the death of the Queen, but to see that it was pure coincidence makes this all the more special. In fact, you could practically argue that RAI heralded the death of the Queen and the ascension of the new King in such an unexpected way, purely by coincidence but still an eerie coincidence.

La reversión del tema del TG1 me sorprendió por el excelente resultado obtenido. No me convence el piso del set y eso es extraño porque RAI siempre se luce en sus puestas en escena. Espero que sea temporal.

Estoy de acuerdo. Me encantaba el tema anterior aunque sonara muy tradicional, pero el nuevo está muy bien hecho. También de acuerdo en como ellos se lucen con sus estudios, y pienso que es provisional.

TG1 Has A New Look Yesterday!
It's fine but I don't think it's a good enough to call it as a real evolution for the program. Same old 3D style but with different color, although they have a remixed theme and better lower 3rd package. And LED panels of the studio is not good enough when we can clearly see the noise, and too many separated one.
it's probably not that the screen is not good enough as it is that the cameras are too good. they're probably 4k native broadcasting in 1080i and the compression surely doesnt help
@@Fabio53443 i dont think so. It's related to the resolution of the LED panel itself. When the camera go too close to the screen, the pixel would be stretched and that noise would happen.
Rai is good in graphics, and is one of the best EBU members in case of them. It looks very good and is compared to Polsat's Wydarzenia (not in EBU), RTL News in many european countries (e.g. RTL-TVI 19 Heures in Belgium and Luxembourg), RTVE's Telediario, ERT's Eideseis, TVP's Wiadomości, etc. I think, that Tengent Studios will rebrand Wiadomości (althrough of that's one of newest intros in Poland), Panorama and Teleexpress (they have among (currently) the oldest, these have 11-12 years).
This set, graphics and jingles were good. For no reason they changed all yesterday (in worse, obviously)
