A movie about a man who leads everyone out of his life because of his insecurities and paranoia and how in the end he can’t blame anyone but himself we see Jake do all these bad things throughout he film yet we mostly can’t help but feel pity in the end, Truly A Masterpiece
I love this movie. the scene that always tugs at my heart is the one where Jake LaMotta is in a jail cell throwing punches at the concrete wall screaming why, why, why? Truly a man who has hit rock bottom.
Travis McPherson He let personal problems get in his way. He lost everything. I felt bad for him but at the same time, I felt like he was getting what he deserved.
@@peterzang You are right. Woman doesn't get this film. For them, its about a filthy, arrogant man who should be rotten in prison for simply his persona.

Black Sheep That’s literally what I’m sayibg. It isn’t a well known movie, if it would be colourized it would be as known as pulp, rocky amd those big names
@@ihavegreatcomments8532 The reason it's black and white is to give the dark feeling if the film. Martin initially wanted it black and white to distinguish it from films like Rocky. But then again, the black and white color fits the movie's tone which is dark and gritty.
I haven't watched the movie yet, but 40 seconds of this trailer is enough to understand this motion picture's greatness... Grande Martin Scorsese, thank you!
this movie is literally the most underrated in history. I can´t explain the anger, the fear, the tension i´ve felt watching this movie, it´s so complex and most people dont give the credit it truly deserves.
An amazing movie about this man's own internal horror story. It was not about the other boxers whom he faced, it was about his internal failure as a man to provide for his family and to be a real man. Their were right to film it in Black & White.
The part in 0:11 to 0:16 of this trailer where De Niro says "I'm the best, and I can take it more than anybody" did not appear in the film. Scorcese ended up using a different take and cut out that dialog entirely. That happens with trailers sometimes.
Khizar Farooq De Niro, Brando, and Laurence Olivier are the best 3 ever. By far. Daniel Day Lewis and oldman are the best actors of their generation. Pacino and Nicholson are great too
When Norman Mailer found Jake Lamotta in a bar he asked: "Could I be a boxer?" Jake replied coldly staring at his beer: "No, you are not unbalanced enough"
This was the last picture I saw in the theater with my pop. We weren't close, but I remember walking out into the afternoon sky in Westwood Village, and he said, "That was really moving." Then came the Oscars, and I was brimming with confidence for Marty. When they announced Best Pic for "Ordinary People", a knot formed in my stomach. I couldn't fathom how this one of a kind work of art of the highest order could've lost to a TV dinner. Writing this now, it hurts. But time has vindicated Marty and his masterpiece, and, much like Ellison's "Invisible Man," every few years I pull it out and sit at the feet of the master. It's been a while, so it's about that time for the Bronx Bull.
Unbelievably, i didn't watch this film until recently, after watching it,it certainly is in the greatest 5 films I've ever seen .3 of them starring De niro.what ever happened to him .
Raging Bull is a great film produced by Robert Chartoff and Irwin Winkler. This film was directed by Martin Scorsese. Although this film is thrilling and captivating to watch, I must say, it contains more fighting and aggressive scenes than I expected. This is the type of film that will have you sitting at the edge of your seat waiting eagerly to see what is going to happen next. If I were to put this film in a mixed genre category, I would say the combination of it all would be action, drama, thriller, and romance. This movie greatly depicts how boxers typically use their emotions, feelings, and past conflict with a person as fuel to brutally attack their opponent until they feel satisfied with the damage they caused. This hectic fight can escalate if both opponents have a bad history with one another or if one person simply does not like the other. The film captured this moment perfectly when it showed Jake being concern about Vickie’s interest in other men, specifically his opponent, Tony Janiro. During the fight between Jake and Tony, Jake squashed him and poured out every last bit of his aggression onto Tony during the fight. That was just one piece of the story. This film contains a lot of drama which I find captivating to watch because most of the situations that took place are something that tend to happen in many people lives so it makes audience members like myself, feel connected to the storyline while remaining fully focused throughout the film. I watched Raging Bull with my younger cousin, and she mentioned that some scenes are very gruesome. I noticed she turned her head around to avoid watching certain parts of the film (she is 19 years old by the way). Based on this reaction, I would advise people who don’t like watching back to back fights and violence occur to avoid watching this film or watch it, but don’t take it too literal. Just keep in mind that it’s only a movie and the actors on set are okay. Their safety and security are always considered while shooting a film. If there ever comes a time when a scene goes to the extreme and many people questioned why it happened then it’s a good idea to also keep in mind that the actors accepted to play out the role they performed for a reason - they feel comfortable doing it. With all that being said, go watch this amazing film if you haven’t yet! It is very intriguing, well captured, great script with amazing actors and film crew.
I never really know. When I see Goodfellas, I say this is definitely the best movie Marty's ever made. Then I see Raging Bull I say damn that's the greatest Scorsese picture. It's hard to pick.
