Robert De Niro deserved the Oscar He really deserved two Oscar's because he was so great in this movie. It was a difficult part to play. He turned his whole appearance to be like Jake. Mr. De Niro, you are the greatest actor. I mean that you can play any part perfect. Thank you for the great movies.
James Saunder Deniro does not have to prove how great an actor he is anymore..He has already been there, done that.. Look at Al Pacino..he isn't doing any better these days either...
So since they`ve already done so much great before, means that they don`t need to do anything good anymore? Seriously? I`m sorry, but that`s like saying if you`ve done great at school; you don`t need to get a job, because you`ve already proven yourself at school! That was a bad example. I completely understand what you mean, and of course the great actors like: De Niro, Pacino, Hoffman, Redford and Nicholson deserve to chill out after working their ass of through out their earlier careers. But it still annoys me to see Pacino and De Niro, two of the greatest actors of all time, being in movies that aren`t good enough for them. I just made a point about how great of an actor he is, and that his performances in his prime-time was something out of the norm.

As a glorious actor like De Niro ages it decreasing his opportunities to get leading or big roles, but that does not mean he was not offered such first-class ones (even at this age), but he most likely refused them, bеcause at his old age he looks for casual and less responsible roles. There isn't age limit for acting, but there is one for the roles and characters you can play and fit in.

@@smokeybirdman . Yea, he's only 25% Italian. His dad Robert Snr was half Italian, not full.
Don't you mean was. Have you seen him now??
For those saying they never saw a young DeNiro, you need to see his early movies like Taxi Driver, Mean Streets, Deer Hunter, etc. He should have won for each of those roles as well as Casino.
He deserved this so much. He gave the best performance of all time.
"you can say that again, pal".

actually, in his late twenties to early thirties, he looks like Keanu in his late 40s to mid 50s!

Sally Field looked... DEPRESSEDD
Johnny Ace Maybe she realized that they don't like her, they really don't like her.
Jesus man, every single actor deserved this award. Didn’t realize what a great year this was
Yeah. Not so many great performances now in the 97 different comic books movies, live-action Lion King, and CATS.
De Niro’s performance in Raging Bull was such a kick ass performance. One of the most deserved wins of the 1980s
🤣🤣🤣
This man is gold. Probably the best living male actor. I see everything that he is in.
Kim Jasso Irishman is now in Netflix
Everyone saying he looks like keanu reeves should realize that it's the other way around cause robert was here before him.
Ok idiot

De Niro in Cape Fear and Taxi Driver was a masterpiece! Incredible acting he actually was a scary and terrifying villain! In Cape Fear. One of the best actor's ever!

Best male performance I've seen in a movie.
And the film overall....arguably the finest of all time.
I have loved this man and admired/followed his career for more than 40 years. I am 59 now. I love you, Robert De Niro, and I always will.
After seeing what he has created during his career and how he prepares, it’s mesmerizing. Much respect and love for him. His intelligence is sexy.
EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Wonderful seeing all these fantastic actors and Scorsese also. Peter O'Toole is a true legend.
What a line up that night! DeNiro? Duvall? Hurt? Wow.
uhhh and Jack Lemmon?
Yes! How could leave him out!
And Peter O'Toole! He accumulated the most nominations of all of them!
Good Fella O'Toole deserved it for Lawrence
MrDonovon07 Totally agree. That would easily be in my top 10 male leading performances of all time
Sally Field looks so beautiful here
I was just coming down to comment that.
Robert De Niro deserved the Oscar
He really deserved two Oscar's because he was so great in this movie. It was a difficult part to play. He turned his whole appearance to be like Jake. Mr. De Niro, you are the greatest actor. I mean that you can play any part perfect. Thank you for the great movies.
What a great actor, every performance of his from before the 90s was just something never to be seen.
I just made a point about how great of an actor he is, and that his performances in his prime-time was something out of the norm.
arty scott I'm not saying that he does not need to do good movies..But he isn't getting any younger these days and competition is fierce..I just want to remember Deniro in his glory days..Right now I just want to see him in ANY film...He will always be my favorite no matter what role or movie he stars in..
He gave great performances in the 90s like Cape Fear and Heat, and recently in SLP. Also, love your profile picture. Coincidentally on this video.
As a glorious actor like De Niro ages it decreasing his opportunities to get leading or big roles, but that does not mean he was not offered such first-class ones (even at this age), but he most likely refused them, bеcause at his old age he looks for casual and less responsible roles. There isn't age limit for acting, but there is one for the roles and characters you can play and fit in.
....Jack Lemmon...what a classy, gracious, humble, professional guy he was...sorely missed, consistent in all his work, and a gentleman of the highest calibre to everyone he met...:)
A very thoughtful man. Has made him a wonderful actor. Very deep.
In his prime days... he still got it till this day but still this is prime Robert Deniro
This performance is one of the greates ever in the filmmaking history
Damn look how young he is.. Idc what anyone says this man will go down as one of the BEST actors in history!
THE best I think.
