I love his transparency! On the purchase price and return in profit!! He's not like these other goon tubers that do fake content just to get fews. Keep up the great job Macho
Hey Macho, just subbed to your channel. I admire your tenacity and entrepreneurial spirit. Having bought MANY cars in my life and flipped more than a few, your work reflects your character. In this instance, you kind of rushed through and did the minimum amount of work to get the car sold initially. You were stuck with a paperweight for four months. When you put the extra work and finishing touches in, the car sold. Put the work in, do what you need to do to provide a reliable vehicle to your customers. You don't want to sell a vehicle only to have the buyer come back and complain you sold them a lemon. Hey, it's a 157k mile car... it's bound to have issues. But good on you for doing what was right. Keep up the videos. Looking forward to the next one.
Thank you for your kind words. And I couldn’t agree with you more. Hard work really pays off at the end. At the end of the day it’s not a perfect car, but I did learn a lot from this experience! Happy to have you on the Macho Motors Journey!
That was good honoring the person who showed app on time. I have noticed with Toyota's and Honda's. They are really hard to get good deals on. Because everybody is looking for them from flippers to just regular car buyers. They are definitely the gem of the used car market and the price reflects it
It may be crappy of me to say it but I will go ahead and say it anyway. If you disconnect and reconnect the battery before somebody shows up to look at your car it will reset the ECU and it normally takes 50 or 60 miles for any codes to pop. I've seen a lot of people get really good results with rattle can spray paint jobs. And masking off to paint a car hood wouldn't be terribly time consuming to do. I've been thinking about getting a small steam cleaner myself for auto detailing. Might be worth considering.... BTW I like your honesty about the price you paid and the price you sold it for. Way too many people on RUclips claiming they got a running car for $500. I'm sure it happens sometimes but most of them of the people saying that are probably full of it.
I hear you, but I’m a strong believer in karma. If I knowingly cleared codes without fixing anything I wouldn’t want to put my name on it. There always easy ways to make an extra buck in this field (head gasket sealers, spray foaming rusty frames, using thicker oil to reduce engine tick, etc.) but at the end of the day you have to live with the choices you made. I like going to sleep at night knowing I was honest about any issues, and the buyer was happy getting a good deal on the car even if it means I made a few less dollars. Also I heard of people doing the spray paint, this would have been a good car to practice on, but I don’t think I was confident in my capabilities. Next Time! Appreciate your kind words, and happy to have you along for the Macho Motors Journey!
@@Macho.motorsbro you are a good dude with a good heart and it shines through this entire video. From the vet who ghosted you to selling to the person who was on time to this comment! I know it sucks when you go out of your way for someone and they let you down, but I would hope to extend grace and think that he had good intentions but maybe no longer had the money do to his medical visit and was just embarrassed of wasting your time. Either way continue being the good person this world needs and I pray many many blessings and success! Thanks for sharing and look forward to more vids.
You did the right and honorable thing selling to individual who was on time. You have to have some disappointments to achieve success. Never forget that and just don't repeat prior mistakes.
If the person missed his appointment then arrive 2 hours late, he doesn't deserve it. You did the right thing. Also, if a person want you to hold tbe car for him, ask for a$200 down payment with no return and have him sign a agreement. If he doesn't show up after a week. Its his lost your gain.
To diagnose, swap coil pack and plug with another cylinder. See if the miss follows the coil. Also, clear coat with a spray can would improve looks of the hood a lot.
You are in the plus category, it's a win. The only thing you did wrong was not researching the model. These sell very well in your area and are a good flip to buy, however, you paid too much for this one. Even though the miles were low, with the problems it had it was a $2000 vehicle. But you still did well. And FOLLOW your rules, NEVER hold a vehicle. You are flipping cars, not helping a friend.
I appreciate it, I think I trusted KBB valuation a little too much. It was saying the car was worth over 4k and everyone on FB was selling around the same price. But definitely realized they are a sub 3000$ car.
Hey, keep going. There are going to be some flips that doesn't go as planned. This one, although it took awhile, but you did get a profit 😊 Love your videos.
Very honorable of you to sell to the guy who showed up for his 1pm appointment. Bad luck with the check engine light coming on during the test drive. Good decision to let the car go at that point. Where in NJ are you ?
Ya never hold anything for any 1 cash first money is king yes, sir a little bit of extra elbow grease goes a long way my friend. Great job brother keep it going..
I’m thinking on flipping cars myself but I’ve doing research to see how to get started. I want to do house flipping but it seems like a lot of stress so I going towards flipping cars. Plus I love cars and like working on them.
Wow, new to your videos. Just binge watched some. I am looking for a car in those price range for work. How do you post for sale, do you have a website? Thanks for sharing man, this is cool.
Great video man, I am starting to get into cars and thinking about buying a cheap beater to fix up and keep for my work vehicle and your videos are really motivational and fun to watch. Keep up the amazing work man.
GIT-R-DONE‼💪 I've been looking at some auctions in my area since it's Las Vegas we have a few copart and IWI lots but just the fee's alone make it hard for someone with $1k cash to buy a vehicle especially when wrecked not driving stuff still sells for multiple thousands.
Not a fail, I don't think you really consider it a fail either, you just made a great title and thumbnail for the video 👍👍👍 Considering there's a 4 month gap I'm guessing you make money other than flipping cars so the time frame isn't really relative if it's a side hustle, you made more than what you invested and now have a bag of money for the next flip.
I appreciate it, I adjusted the title a video to be a little more honest and less clickbait. I definitely don’t take it as a win. With every car I learn something new so that’s always a win, but With the time invested I think I calculated I made around 15-20$ which is near minimum wage in my state. For risking 2500 it was a 12% ROI. But maybe it’s just me being a little ungrateful or getting used to the BIG WINS. Idk, but all I do know is I have a lot more to learn! Thanks for watching!
@Macho.motors You're welcome, I didn't consider your title and thumbnail as clickbait, I think it's a good one, it served it's purpose to get attention. Any flip you profit on is a win, there's plenty of fails out there no matter your experience level.
Hello brother first of all from my experience in flipping bicycles I advise you who comes first serves first anyone who comes and gives me money is the one who will take it because there are some people and not everyone tells me I will buy a bike but after three days I will come to spoil the sellers of others and after three days he will not come but in general this is flipping sometimes there are losses but stay strong and don't give up ❤😊❤😊
If it's drivable you drive it. If you have the title and bill of sale right there the cop isn't normally going to hassle you as long as you have liability insurance on your personal vehicle. If you have a vehicle that can pull a tow dolly and you can't drive the new purchase home then rent a tow dolly. They're cheap AF and easy to use. If you don't have a vehicle that can pull a tow dolly then rent a truck at the same time. Not as cheap but still not unreasonable as long as the mileage you have to travel isn't excessive.
You made your money back plus some l flip cars in California and what l have learned is the car sales slow down but go up holding them is money in the bank its eventually going to sale
I bought my first and last Toyota 2 years ago. Nothing but trouble. Had it to many garages. Even had it at the Toyota dealer twice and they can't fix it.
And the headlights... clear headlights sell cars. Takes five years off by doing just that. Hood? Not as important but would help. Lights are king! hoods are jacks.

Agreed, times have definitely changed since 2020. People are keeping their money tighter and focusing on more cheap economical cars.

Where was the loss? Profit is profit!
If he add hes job cleaning the car, change brake and rotos and change the ignition coil we find out there is no profit

I think you can test those coils with a multimeter
fantastic. great stuff

Toyota and Honda always sell just have to have patience
too many wanna trade flakes so good luck man
Toyotas are just hard to make a good profit on because it’s hard to score one for a low price to flip .
