$1,000 Reliable Daily Driver Exist?!? Mazda 5 Project Daily
Back story: My daily driver was involved in an accident (video coming in the far future). So I was on the hunt for a daily car that was cheap because I had liability insurance (insurance didn’t pay anything for accident). So I set myself with a budget for $1000 in hopes of finding a cheap reliable car.
This video isn’t meant to be a car flip like all my other videos, but just figuring out the “TRUE COST” of a reliable $1000 car.
Sorrry for any confusion but I hope this was able to help clarify the video 😅
In this video, I started to dive into the process of fixing the Mazda 5. We soon realized there are much more issues that comes with a $1,000 daily driver.
Stay tuned for part 2!!

    I purchased a 2010 with a manual transmission friday from maryland the description said the clutch was weak, I thought I’d be able to drive it back to NY and get my mechanic there to change the clutch, it burned out completely in PA so I had to tow it back with a u-haul hopefully that’s all I had to fix because now my pockets are empty

    You're just lucky that you're not trying to do this work on a Mazda5 from the Northeast. The front sway bar bushings are almost impossible to replace without dropping the front subframe because of rust preventing the bolts from turning easily.

      @@ldstirling Unfortunately I am doing this in the north east. Bolt were very rusty and with tons of penetrating fluid and heat. I was able to get them out the way shown in the video.

    Bet that trans fluid smelled nice… sometimes when they that bad and you put fresh fluid in them, they go out not too long down the road. With that, $1000 may have been lil much. Sell before you have any more issues with that one!

    This was a great video, not sure why you let it sit for so long but that’s what killed your deal, beside you bought too high and sold too low, when I buy a car with a misfire I assume a engine replacement, just in case. I actually bought a highlander this summer and had to put a engine in, the engine cost me $600 but I only paid $800 for the car, it was a 2004 with 190k I did some front suspension work also, but sold for $4300, sold in 3 days, had it for 1 month. Everything you can improve on the vehicle do it at once, might not raise the price but sell faster. Don’t just repost, try deleting post and even doing new pictures, I had so many costumer tell me they saw my car as soon as I posted and I probably re-list it 3 times. Very good video, you seem to be honest, and hard working.

    Hey Macho, The only thing I heard that was a mistake was, "I didn't check all the fluids before I bought it". Always always always check ALL fluids before making an offer. An engine will tell you how it's feeling by the color AND smell of the fluids. Very concerning that most of the fluid reservoirs were empty. But, you are making good content. Keep plugging away my friend!

    Brother you know I admire your work. Why in the hell would you put all those top-notch parts on a car you're not keeping is this all about the prophet. Literally I'd have gone and got the cheapest Parts I could get and blown out the air filter. Cabin filter why? I would go to a discount auto part place and try and get a discount on buying everything and keeping my business with them🎉

      Appreciate the compliment, but I think I didn’t explain myself correctly in the video. I agree that if this was a flip video I wouldn’t have done some of the “repairs” such as an Apple car play radio or cabin air filter to maximize profit. But it’s a cheap spacious car for me to carry tool, car parts and drive on a daily basis. Sorrry for any confusion but I hope this was able to help clarify the video 😅

    I only buy cars that have serious mechanical issues. If I don’t need to dolly them home I don’t buy them. I look at it as my gambling issue. Sometimes I make money and occasionally I lose money and cut my losses. Trick on the misfire is to swap the coil packs with another cylinder and see if the missfire moves to a different cylinder. I know the coil is was cheap, but I look at every dollar I put into it cuts into my profit.

    You are not doing bad . I have been flipping cars for almost 25 years and here is a few things I have learned . First , you make money during the purchase , not the sale , if the price is too high walk away . What I mean is , with this Toyota you have to look at it as a repairable , you are not buying a fully functional ready to go car . If you have to part it out in the end because a repair is not worth it then you will still make money . I would have offered $1200 at most for the car . This leaves you plenty of room , what if the miss in the engine was a bent valve , that costs much more to fix than a coil . The rest of the repairs you did like brakes and cleaning up the head lights is right on , but when you sell presentation is the most important thing . I would have sanded the hood down and repainted it . I would have also sanded the wheels and repainted them . I am not trying to talk down to you , I wish someone had told me these things when I first started . Good Luck .

    • @Macho.motors
      @Macho.motors 2 дня назад

      Hey! My goal was to sell the car for $4000. Obviously it didn’t work out that way because I may have overpaid and over estimated the market on it. My goal with any flip is a minimum of $1000 profit because I’m risking $100s-$1000s to only make $200-300$ is not a good return on investment in my opinion. Lucky haven’t been in a situation of a huge loss just yet 😅
