7/4/87, was 11 years old and i was definitely at the Myrtle Beach Travel Park RV resort that year. I remember hanging out on the beach that night watching the fireworks. 05:56 I do remember the C-130s and especially the A-10 Warhogs that were stationed there. To this day, the A-10 is my fav aircraft. 07:31 I remember the pitch speed booth too. It sat in an alleyway just off Ocean Blvd next to a parking lot, across the street from the arcades. This may as well be my home videos. Fantastic memories.

Really cool to see all this old footage. I was a kid and lived on base until it closed. Some of the best times of my life. I would ride my bicycle off base and came out the gate where the Grand Prix was. There was putt putt and a water park there as well. I also would go fishing at the ponds in front of Roses and catch a bunch of large mouth bass.

In 1987, I was stationed at Myrtle Beach AFB. Thursday nights, it was Dr. Munchies and Dixie Electric. Fridays Streamers and later, Atlantis. Saturdays, we would venture up to 2001, The Afterdeck, Crazy Zaks, or even as far as the Spanish Attic on Ocean Drive and dance in the cages. Sometimes, we go on the Blvd after clubbing and go the arcade or ride the rides at the Pavilion. The Rainbow was my most favorite, but you know that already. Sometimes, we'd get the operator to do an extra round or two. Good times.

I remember watching A-10's doing SIM dog fights over the ocean while my dad smoked cigars on the balcony of the St. John's...back when it was ocean front (no other hotels in front). Or playing 10 cent baseball machines and 25 cent skee ball in the arcade. Getting breakfast at the K&W cafeteria where the black lady called white people "honkeys", lol. Going to the hammock shops and talking to Bee, who wove sweet grass baskets. As I got older, i get a job at the t-shirt place for a week behind where Ripleys is now for some extra cash and a chance to meet girls. Going to wacamaw pottery which seemed so huge as a child and so small as a young adult. Going to eggs up grill when it was LITTERALLY a hole in the wall joint in Litchfield. Or the Kit Kat for breakfast. My best MB memory is Treasure Island golf, and thank god it's still there!! And still looks great. Remember village of the barefoot traders? Long before Barefoot Landing. With the hippo in the middle that talked? And the clock on the ceiling at inlet mall? I watched that thing in all. Kirk's ice cream. Bojangles was a special treat for us. The A&P super mart? Whaaaa? I love your channel man. Its literally my childhood. Thanks for what you do. I honestly dream and pray and wish everyday to someday live there. It's the only thing ive ever wanted. But your channel helps make me feel....almost there
Sidenote: I remember on one of our trips to Charleston, we went to the Slave Market and I thought it was so cool...my dad told me what used to happen there...i cried on the spot. I didn't understand why people would do that to other people, and it was never the same for me. But in a good way. A sobering way.
2nd sidenote: Tobys old world! I can't stop editing this. So many memories!!! The tram around waccamaw. Maryland fried chicken (which I never got...maryland friend chicken isnt a thing in maryland?) Greens (with the glass wall between the liquor side and beer side) so weird. Sam's corner and the ocean burger. There used to be this restaurant that was a buffet that had a wheel the spun slowly, half behind the wall for refilling, was it Jax? I forget. I loved that place as a kid...begged to go there. Piggy wiggly. Soo much good stuff.

When my wife and I go now, they advise people to not go on the blvd at night only go during the day, too much crime at night they say now that was our favorite to go at nigh. I guess we've been lucky all these years to not be attacked.

We had most of the first floor rented at Princess inn. It was in 1985 about 3am my grandparents started screaming as they watched an orgy in the pool. We quickly pulled them inside and told them it was Zombies trying to reproduce, they bought it, cause they were both seenile.
