I live in socastee but I work at 30th avenue Dunkin. We were open during most of the storm and we had to go home at peek at the storm and I was able to drive 20 minutes in the store and I was fine. I've had our regular customers show us where they're inground pool became the ocean and the storm surge was 4 ft up on the glass at the South end. Please pray that those businesses recover from this I've even heard stories of a regular customers mom who is a housekeeper who had to work in this and they had to be rescued out of the second floor during the storm. Again please pray. To me and other locals this is a storm not a hurricane

    In case anyone is wondering
That ship was out fishing on Thursday night and got trapped during the strong waves and anchored and called out and abandoned it.
During the Eye/Eyewall of the hurricane the ship got unanchored and got dragged by the waves onto the beach causing a lot of police units and fire units fly around Ocean Blvd.
Insane how powerful the Cat 1 is and my first hurricane of experiencing my first hurricane here.

Really enjoyed your video. Great video and commentary. Only your accent threw me off. Can't place it. Maybe because I'm Canadian.

Glad you like the video! I’m from North Carolina even though we live in Myrtle Beach now. However I’ve been told I have more than mid Atlantic accent than a southern accent.

Thankfully most of it has been repaired now. The biggest lingering damage is the dunes.

The dunes are definitely gone. It's sad to see. But the beach is still there.

Was the captain of that boat okay? Does anyone know the safety and where abouts of him? I guess you didn’t take that into consideration when you promoted the owner’s beached boat aground as a tourist attraction. But hey get your selfies….. 🙄🙄

The crew was evacuated at sea by the coast guard and no one was hurt.

She clearly stated in the video that she didn’t think anyone was onboard and no one was hurt when the boat was beached.🙄🙄
