Bird spikes - I attached to 2x3 wood boards and lay them onto y dock - prevents the geese from landing to sleep the night and pooping on dock - my issue is only during the molting season and it has worked for this. Hassle though taking the boards on/off when I use dock. This also works onshore to prevent them form walking on to shore, again molting season it has worked well. I hate hassle of setting and moving so am going to try the lights this year.

Fishline,, string it across the shoreline to the height of the gooseneck. They land in water and walk up on shore. The fishline stops them from walking to shore. I mention fishline because it’s clear. Can use any type of rope or twine. Good Luck.

I used a fishing line along the shores 10" off the ground. it was hard to see but the geese didn't want to mess with it. It lasted one summer. Now I'm looking for a new product. Was thinking about getting a dog and letting it go hunting. Or hooking up a garden hose to a motion sensor. I would love to get a permit to trap the geese and bring them to an area of the state with lots of natural predators like Timber Wolves.

Have not had any luck with ANYTHING except netting. Even with that, the moms and dads have left their babes instead of coming after us if they went around the netting to get to us. Then of course I am yelling at them for leaving their baby🤷‍♀️😂. Curious to try this though!

The Migratory Bird Treaty Act should update its laws to help protect the citizens of the United States by allow thinning from time to time. Apparently they do not experience the odor, the poop and other threats of disease that these stubbon creatures known as geese bring to disturb our peace. Dogs are not allowed to poop on the neighbors lawn, why are HERDS of geese given that right? Why are they allowed just enter your property and take over? It's traspassing with federal approval and privilages!

The trick is to stop them from nesting around your property as once they have golslings they won't go period. I've used paintballs, drones,rc cars/bottle rockets and once they have their brood of shit monsters they will not leave. You can put up rope or line about 10" off the ground but will find a way in. The best of the lot is a dog as outs chased them off the property for years.

BB Gun! Works good when they are around but they still come back ugh. I pump 3 times to not hurt them but to pop them and get them to move on. Then I pop a couple into the lake as warning shots if they come near. I need a automatic BB Gun on a sensor lol.. Nothings worked for me and in 20 years I have tried every last thing anyone has ever mentioned. These bastards don’t care lol. And yes I love how they make friends with the fake snarling wolf and fake owls I have also tried lol. They end up laying right next to them lol little bastards lol.. Anyways maybe I will try this light you mention hopefully that works where do ya get it?

Oh boy do I wish I could! I'm in Rhode Island and unfortunately that would be frowned upon. There is 3 adults and like 6 babies but are not tiny cute ones. They are the big $hitting machines. I am so tired of coming home from a hard day's work to find my nicely mowed yard filled with geese $hit. I'm almost at the point where I'll snap and run out there with my CZ or my AR and rid the problem

I want to remind everyone that Canadian Geese are federally protected under the Migratory Bird Treaty Act and it is illegal to physically harm these animals. The good news is that non-lethal harrassement and deterrence is mostly legal. When in doubt, you can call your state department of wildlife and ask about approved methods.

It's incredible to me that these nuisance birds who are over taken our yards and fields are protected. I think it's time to get rid of their protection and make it open season on them year round. They provide nothing positive to the environment and are nasty, filthy birds. I'm an animal lover but at this point I could literally strangle them one by one. I despise them!

Just as you do, I frequently refer to them improperly. They are actually "Canada" Goose/Geese whether referring to them as singular or plural.
