I think it would be interesting to place the outermost drivers at a 45 outward degree angle to face of the soundbar to 'play' with any possible acoustic benefits of reflections in the room to enhance any left versus right audio. Just a thought.
That sound bar looks nice but very complicated build. It sounds great over my PC sound system listening to it in your video but I think I would want to hear one of these in person before I would spend the time involved in the build. It would be nice if you could do some calibrated microphone software test and show the frequency response results on the speakers you build. I am sure you would of had to of done that to determine the correct crossover network to use on your beautiful sound bar.
The BUILD PLANS for this project can be purchased here: soundblab.net/build-plans/ . It includes a comprehensive 36 page description of materials, parts, etc. on how to build this sound bar from beginning to end. I also have build plans for a matching 6.5 inch Subwoofer. Or you can purchase the Sound Bar and the matching Subwoofer build plan combo and save.
Great work. One day I’ll get to adding this to my project list! You’re based in the Cape, right? Where are you sourcing your veneer from? I’m struggling to find any
A true inspiration for me I wish I could attach a picture of what I make by getting inspired from your videos, I am just stuck on one last step can you please make a detailed video about the paint job. I have used the MDF board for my 4.1 system so far.
hello from philippines! am a fan of your masterpieces. can you help me? i have an old harman kardon 5.1 speakers. 5 speakers working. subwoofer NOT working, scavage the speaker and kept it. how can you help me to restore?.
Wow this is Art in the making if I was in Europe I would buy it and you could make the same item couple times when you were doing this one I will pay top dollar for it great video very relaxing beautiful design one day you want to sale it let me know 😊
Great work. Have anyone looked in to the support of WISA communications between the speakers. It does not seem to be supported in the Arylic kit. I would like to build by own surround speakers.
Possibly a bit of a dumb question but have been binging on your videos the last few days, really well done btw, but wondering which i should be most looking at in terms of quality and bang for buck (though quality is of more importance than the price really.) and more importantly to fit my space, specifically the space i will be moving into in 3 months. Right now have decent active bookshelf speakers for the TV and music. No real interest in home theater system as more about music and tv is secondary. TV area is in the end of a fairly long and skinny open plan apartment so wondering if that lends itself more to the soundbar and sub combo, or if I'd be better off on the transmition line or small 3 ways you've designed. As the designer, your opinion would be of great value. Cheers and again great videos all the way back to the start.
Thanks man. The sound bar and sub actually sounds pretty good, and I have been using it now for a month or so. it also plays music well. The bonus with something like the small 3-way speaker is that it gives you a better experience in terms of soundstage and imaging if you can give them some space around them. You should also pair them with a good amp.
I love your work! keep doing what you are doing, you are an inspiration to all of us! If you do not mind a question on this build, why did you use the lepai amp and you did not opt for the Arylic 2.1 Up2Stream board? It has the streaming module along with a 2.1 amp as far I can tell. Thanks.
Thank you! The Arylic board was not yet available at the time when I designed and planned this build. I normally plan a build month in advance before releasing it on video. Would've loved to use that amp though! Future build, since I did acquire one to test.
What do you suggest for a width of 60/65cm? You used 6 speakers and 3 tweeters? You think that 4 speakers and 2 tweeters will do the job? I want to make my own custom soundbar to fit in my cabinet. Let me know ☺️
Hey. If you don't mind, may you please do the following 1. Danley J5 caleb 2. Danley TH812 3. McCauley M421 4. Bose MB24 WR Thanking you in advance. God bless.
Hey, those are some big speakers. Not really something I need to be honest, and dont have the space to build something that large. They look cool though.
Hi Dude, I have a Denon x3600H 9.2 Av receiver. So can you suggest me the low budget speaker system. How many speakers doses it need ? Which is better Klipsch or Polk audio? Thank you.
Sorry man, but I do not have any experience with the brands you mention. I also do not do speaker reviews, so asking me for advice will not help much. Sorry!
really good job, like a professional 👏👏👏👌👌👍
Great combo man. Even for the demo, I could still hear some nice highs and lows
Glad you like it!

This would be entirely room dependent without active audio controller to adjust based on test mic .
Great build... Just in hind sight.... Maybe solder the pigtails to the drivers before putting them in place.. just a thought
That would've been easier!
All I can say is WOW! Excellent work that looks and sounds AMAZING! They sound just like my Bose speakers lol.

Funny, because I am listening to this with the same subwoofer and tweeters but I used the RS100 for mids.

Awesome man! I can try to do a video of my painting process in the future.
My LG tv have Audio audio Port. In sound bar amplifier need?? Or directly connect all speakers wire with the output port of TV.
The audio output from your TV is most likely a RCA signal level, so yes you will in that case need an amp to power the speakers.
@@SoundBlab ok thanks
Really a Great job ❤
Thanks 😄
As always I cannot find any word to appreciate you. Love ❤ you keep it up
Thank you so much 😀
Thank you for sharing this awesome build. Any reason why the middle was kept hollow towards the beginning of the video?
Thanks. The space in the middle just makes up the space needed to have the sound bar long enough to stretch from side to side for my 55inch TV.

is the subwoofer connected by bluetooth to the soundbar for the audio input?
Hope the device or build will support all music format like on Tidal, MQA etc....

can i buy the speaker housing+electronic parts ONLY? i intend to convert my old 5.1 harman kardon into soundbar+woofer
This is really fantastic....Great job bro....👍👍👍👍 What board were you using for the construction ?
Thanks. Its mostly 6mm or 1/4 inch MDF.
I have two passive subs that I want to amplify. I will need to have an amp that takes high level inputs. Will the amps you used here work for them?
The plate amplifier board I used here does not have high level inputs. Maybe try something from Parts Express here: parts-express.sjv.io/XYjbO3
