      I think this is something you need to discuss with your doctor due to your pregnancy. For me, it was simply lack of iron. Please see your doctor to rule out any other symptoms and then seek advise on dietary changes. Good luck❤

    Coconut milk, kefir, and nonfat plain Greek yogurt have replaced every cream base in my diet.
    I try to get mmost of my sugar from whole fresh fruit.
    I try to get protein from as many different sources as possible.
    I get most of my fats from olive oil, avacado, eggs, and meat.
    Most of my carbs come from tubers(carrots, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.)
    (Whisper] i also know how to make chocolate.

    One thing I always struggle with is food storage and especially as leftovers as I am constantly worried about how long until it spoils etc I appreciate you don't use meat but I feel like you would make a fanatic video about this subject. So I hope you consider it.

    This past Nov my blood work showed my A1c is 5.8, prediabetic. I stopped eating rice, potatoes, bread, pasta & have lost 10lbs since Nov. Bad news is now I only weigh 116lbs. I cannot afford to lose anymore weight. My snacks are like cukes, celery, nuts, berries, nothing calorie dense. How can I gain weight & not compromise my health?

    All of your tips are really good... but I stumble when you say track calories... Yes, you say you do not necessarily recommend it - which is great! - and I do get why you say it, you are a classically trained nutritionist, and this is what we learn in school. But, and i know you know this too, there is such a big difference from person to person in energy expenditure, hormones, for women the time of the month, stress levels even... body muscle mass, etc.
    I personally think that calorie counting is the wrong idea, for people with a propensity for black and white thinking / OCD it can trigger eating disorder tendencies, and really, we do not know how much energy/calories we need in a day, it differs from person to person, but also it differs from day to day for the individual. This is where listening to your hunger and intuition comes in. Calorie counting is just... pointless. It may lead to underfeeding, or overconsumption, because it tells a random individual to eat this much cals per day, while this standard number has nothing to do with said individual... it's just a guesstimate. I think this mathematical approach to nourishing oneself is a great big distraction and mistake, it leads us away from our inner compass, which knows exactly what it needs. If only we listen, and not get distracted by numbers and equations.
    But again, I do get why you mention it. I just wish you would emphasise the other part too, as I know you're into gentle nutrition and intuitive eating.
    M,uch love.

      She literally says to use it as a guide and you even know she said she doesn't recommend it. You can use things as a guide and to gain knowledge but it's not the same as counting calories everyday which you're leaning into. I don't quite get the reasoning of this comment? She is very keen on intuitive eating and promotes it way more than calorie counting. She just wants to cover everything.

      I'm trying to cover everything one might need to learn the basics of healthy eating, and I do emphasize that I don't recommend calorie counting and prefer intuitive eating and listening to your body :)

    • @ks9759
      @ks9759 2 месяца назад +1

      Calorie counting is not a bad thing for everyone. Finding your TDEE gives you an estimate for how many calories to consume based on general activity level. If you have a binge eating disorder like I do, knowing the amount of calories you need to eat a day and shooting for that number in a general sense is very helpful. If I ate with my intuition, I would eat myself straight into the grave. Having a goal to strive for gives me a sense of achievement and encourages me to stick to portion sizes. Do I toss those numbers out the window on occasion? You betcha, but overall counting calories keeps me on track for my weight loss goals. When I’m done losing weight, I’ll probably try to eat a little more intuitively, but my disorder means I’ll likely never do away with numbers entirely. Everyone is different, but that doesn’t make it pointless. Just wanted to share another perspective on the matter.
