Which of these two are you working on right now?
Lowering your day to day calories, or increasing consistency?Btw, here’s the fried rice recipe! I’ve been eating this for DAYS! So good!!

I don't know if they have them in New Zealand, but for those in the US (and for Chels, after you move!)... find out whether there's a salvage grocery store near you. I've been buying fresh berries for half price or less, and they're in perfect condition. Also tons of other produce and all the usual things grocery stores have, just not always the exact brand you might want. Or maybe they don't have almond milk for a couple of weeks, and then it turns up. Things like that. And watch the "best by" dates because some items are past them -- but some aren't, and some foods are perfectly fine past that date.

I came here for this comment 😂. Meanwhile, my house is surrounded by wild blueberries. ❤ I do have to share them with the deer. We have blackberries and raspberries but I'm not sure if they started wild or were planted by previous owners. I find frozen fruit easier to manage. They're picked and frozen at the right time and always taste great.

    Hey Chelsea!
I love your content! Have followed you for quite some time now. I'm wfpb but not losing weight. So frustrating. I'm 62 and about 50 lbs over my ideal weight. I try to be very careful about what I put in my mouth. But I think you're right about adherence and staying in a long-term calorie deficit. I know all about calorie density but I think I get frustrated and don't stay on track long enough.I guess. This video was great for re-emphasizing what I pretty much already know. Just need to get it dialed in and stick to it. Thanks for all your great info!

3:05 I bake my own bread from whole grains that I mill myself. I only add water, yeast and a bit of salt. How do X grams of "whole grains at 500 calories" suddenly become X grams of "bread at 1400 calories" when all that happens is baking those grains??? Where do these numbers come from and how do they even make sense??? I also soak then cook my whole grains and eat that (as per oatmeal you could say) .. so where on earth do the extra 900 calories come from in your statement: whole grains 500 cals, but bread 1400 cals?????

    • @aprilblossoms4

When you give up and overeat, just try to start eating healthy the next meal! I have days when I eat terribly as well but to continue to eat like that means I am entering a negative spiral. Eating one meal that makes you feel bad is better than 3 meals because it’s that much harder to get back on track.
Have your ingredients ready and prepped so you don’t procrastinate which leads to eating meals that you are trying to eat(healthier). Once you stick to it for a week or so and see some results, you will feel more motivated. Of course watch Chelsea’s other videos and keep coming back to remain motivated! Good luck 👍

Buckwheat groats are really tasty (the whole shelled buckwheat), they gel if you soak them though so you have to soak them overnight then rinse them well in a strainer in the morning before adding your other ingredients. They stay pretty crunchy and are like having a bowl of cereal.

This is a plant based diet that does not consist of any animal products. Animal products are higher in calorie density and fat so you would have to eat smaller portions for the same calories which doesn’t lead to fullness cues and tends to cause eating more.
Vegan is different from plant based as vegan is a code of ethics of avoiding harm to animals in all ways possible. Whereas plant based diet it just eat more fruits /veg/ beans, etc related to food for health. They have some overlap but are not the same.

I’m curious. From the pictures a of your macro counts, I don’t see your carbs. Are you only counting your net carbs? I heard the jury is still out on which one to count.

I’m finding it near impossible to shift weight now in my late 40’s. I’m eating really healthy but keep getting caught out with sugary snacks to give me energy, then I crash. I’ve never been this big before. Then I’ll food prep like this for about 4 days, then get swayed by family members wanting to go to the chip shop or dreaded McDonald’s. It’s an annoying cycle perpetuated by peri menopause. 🙈

You're not alone! Hormones are powerful! I'm gaining weight since two years now and tried everything. I do my 10k plus gym. I'm vegan, tried keto, tried WW even had a weight loss coach. He was as frustrated as me after 4 month. Nothing. I lost nothing and can watch myself getting bigger and bigger. I lost all the sunshine in my life. 😢
