A smooth voice talking about smooth animations, what more could one ask for? Also I agree soo much about how the magic happens in the graph editor!! Its the place to be!!! Great vid man
taking time to go really in depth and explain some of these *small* yet important details is very much appreciated, and not what you'd normally get with a tutorial yet I am very glad you're providing.
I do something similar at work but only recently started using the graph editor. This was a great tutorial and showed quite a bit of pointers, thank you. Please do share the tutorial for the materials! The translucent plastic looks really nice on your USB stick :)
Hi! thank you so much for this beautiful video, it's mostly thanks to you that I started my design career, I also recently started doing Blender tutorials on RUclips, well what can I say, thank you for the great inspiration you gave me!
8:05 Double-click or press A to select the entire handle If I press S > Y like the tutorial, each handle does not increase, but the distance between the handle and the handle increases. Is there any mistake I made? I haven't solved it for 30 minutes.
thank you very much ! i really needed that ! Can you do more of these animation videos if its possible ? it helps a lot ! ( especially beginners like me ! )
@@DerekElliott I don't know if you did this type of video but if possible could you do a video about how to animate camera in a cinematic way ? I struggle a lot to make this ! ( a video tips and trick to know how to animate easier camera ! )
Derek, can you do a camera animation tutorial? Because I have trouble making a smooth camera motion and sometimes it's janky. I love all your videos and this one's no exception. Please?
@@DerekElliott Thank you for the reply, you are amazing. ♥. So for example, lets say theres an object straight ahead and I'm moving my camera towards it then above the model and see it from the top, when I do the motion, during rotation (its like an arc motion, where the model is right in front of me, and the end frame is the model below me looking at it on a top-down view kind), the model is not centered, its janky and moves away from the frame. I tried doing the curves multiple times but its never perfect or proper. since it involves all xyz locations and rotations of the camera, its getting hard to make it seem proper. hard to keep the object centered no matter how i animate the camera. :(
lighting is the hardest part. We often spend most of the work on making a model, then we quickly add some textures and light and we are surprised that it looks poorly
The best GPUs you can afford! In this video I am using my pc with 2x 2080ti's which are actually a little old at this point but still get the job done.
Hey Derek! Do you have ways for people in SE Asian Countries (like India) to get access to your patreon page through payment methods other than Paypal...we have UPI here and I'd like to purchase a patreon from that cause for some reason Paypal doesn't seem to work for me, is there any way you can make it work??

Definitely go for a lighting tutorial my guy! It'd be an awesome subject for your tutoring approach.

Yes, a lighting tutorial would be more than welcome Derek. Thank you and keep up the good work !
That small detail of making the back side of the USB spin faster is such a creative solution that makes the animation so much better.

I haven't solved it for 30 minutes.
It might have to do with your pivot point in the graph editor. I think period on keyboard will bring up the menu
@@DerekElliott Oh my Jesus. Thank you! I wish you a Merry Christmas.
All the tutorials! Love your stuff, even before I was learning Blender. :)
Your voice must be a Bézier curve, hella smooth. These tutorials really upped my game, since I’m great at modelling and shit at the rest lmao
