Because of your reviews I’d been hunting for a super lite. About a year ago I found someone about 5 hours away looking to get rid of one that was barely used, immediately jumped at the chance and drove and got it. I’ve camped in it probably 8 or 9 nights and it’s incredible. Very very quick setup and also so easy to load and unload off the car.

I’m a bit late watching this video, but I’ll throw in my two cents anyway. A couple years ago my wife bought me a small DEWALT cordless chainsaw for Christmas. I now take it when I go camping and off-roading for processing firewood and getting myself out of situations like you experienced with the downed tree. It’s lightweight, fairly quiet and doesn’t take up much space. You might want to take a look at a small chainsaw. Much better than standing in the rain trying to cut a tree with a hand saw.

Those are a solid addition. Not that great for carrying in a 2-door Bronco. But I agree, it’s a must have for many of us. Although, my Agawa Saw is pretty great when I can find it! 😂

Justin I grew up in Santa Cruz and living along the California coast the best month by far is September because that is considered an Indian summer where there is no fog and no rain generally although there are exceptions to everything I would recommend early September as your next planned visit. Still a great video to watch!

I literally hopped over the log at 7:37 to access the hikes across the road. I was wondering what was up the fire road…now I know…cats and dogs in the form of rain. Today was a beautiful day…Happy Solstice ☀️

Justin, love your stuff. Pro tip: when you're using your plastic cutting board, put a damp towel or paper towel underneath it. It will prevent it from slipping around.

Love the content man. I’m hoping to buy a 2 door Bronco next year and camp out with it, reason why i clicked on your video, to see if they made a tent for the 2 door model. Keep up the good work with these videos.

For a super compact saw I'd recommend the Silky Big Boy! We got really stuck last spring and I was able to cut down a tree with it to forge a new path. Great video as always!

Do it in august. It’s your only chance at dry. Even when the weather says it’s dry it’s the coast. I can only speak for Oregon, but it is year round hoodies and prepped for rain all the time.

The worst way to wake up by far. It would’ve been nicer if it were snow!

I can think of a few worse ways to wake up, but none of them would create more views for the channel…

Rain happens, still make the content and show it off! One of the reasons I love Dirt Lyfestyle and The story till now as well is they show what this stuff is really like, not all instagrammed up. Sometimes you get rained/snowed on, doesn't mean it won't be a good time.

Place a wet paper towel between the plastic cutting board and the wood cutting board and that will keep it from sliding around

thats one reason why my Bronco has a winch

    • @JustinBMcBride
      @JustinBMcBride  Год назад

It’s one of the weird restrictions in my contract with Ford. They have a winch mount, but they won’t let me put it on because it blocks the safety sensors. 🤷‍♂️
Easily my #1 “Thing I Would Change” is no option for an easy-to-install winch right out the gate.

Justin, can you tell me if you have a different rack than stock on your Badlands to carry your RRT. I'm looking into the ikamper 3
0 mini, GFC model, or a Roofnest model. With the weight limitations of the 3dr roof, what could you recommend? I have the same truck, non-Sas. Thanks

If this happened early november (6th-8th if I remember correctly) you literally got stuck in the storm that's dumped the most rain on the state this year. It rains maybe a dozen days out of the year and you got caught in som of the worst of it.
