prewitt ridge is always a favorite. If you ever come to California again I suggest checking out the bowman lake area near Nevada city, lots of trails and lakes to camp at with beautiful views.

Great video. I was really digging the super wide angle shot showing you and the front of the Bronco while driving. Very creative and have never seen that before.
I live in this area and explore the Los Padres National Forest a lot. The Forest Service has a real problem opening and closing roads. They can close them in a heartbeat but then say they don’t have the staff to reopen them in a timely fashion. Their website isn’t much help either because the information often times contradicts what you find in person. Unfortunately the only way to know if a road is open is to physically go there to see for yourself. Don’t trust the road signs, many times the gate is open when the sign says closed and vice versa.
Someday we’ll get out to the west coast for some content but until then, this will do. Beautiful footage! California sure is a different kind of beach!
You make me miss CA sooo bad... I just did a fall ride here on the east coast on my little channel called No camping overlanding where we simply just explored and found fall foliage in peak everywhere we traveled. On that trip my wife and I couldn't stop talking about how much we do miss traveling on the west coast, specifically in the northern CA area. We love both coast, but cant be in both places at the same time. Thanks for the incredible drone shots... You and Seaun have inspired me in many of your previous videos. God Bless you man.
Thank you! The coastline north of LA is special. I will always love it, no matter how much I have to spend on gas to see it! It was pushing $8.00/gallon in Big Sur.
I use a Ham radio. I have been using the Yaesu FTM-400XD for years, but my next radio will need to be something different. I want to be able to record conversations for future videos.
At the beginning of the video you mentioned everything got wet. Did you stay dry inside the tent? When they are available again, I’d like to invest in that one.
Actually that hill at 14:22 on the left isn’t that bad. And you have the best view from up there. I made it up there without airing down my Tacoma at 32 psi with rear locker and ATRAC on. My buddy took his AWD on the backside of that hill which is easier. I’ve actually camped on the right hill as well at a different time. Locker and ATRAC off.
@@JustinBMcBride sry to bug you again, but did you mount that awning with the trailrax short awning mounts for the TRMR? Or directly to the side somehow. Want to get the superlite this week, but feel like it would interfere with those awning mounts..
Prewitt Ridge has been shut to traffic since the Dolan Fire, and then the massive washouts in Jan 2020. I’m surprised OnX doesn’t point out those road closures which are quite clear on the Forest Service website
@@JustinBMcBride copy that. Just looked like the Naciemiento-Fergusson Road that goes from 1 to the top. That’s closed also, but couldn’t be bothered to type that out initially 😆 lots of good spots over in Ventana Wilderness as well, shortish drive down into Carmel Valley off G16

Hi, you’re right. No drones from the average high tide point over the last 19 years Seaward for 5 nautical miles and restricts manned aircraft from flying below 1000 feet, not just drones. I’m well away from that in all of these points. Thank you for your concern. Flying over any of the beaches or water is a huge no-no between Cambria and Carmel. The FAA has a really great resource for UAS Pilots, it’s an app called B4UFLY, and any and all pilots should be using it before taking off to ensure the areas they fly in are legal and they won’t be endangering wildlife or manned aircraft.
Big Sur is AWESOME. So beautiful. I had the pleasure of driving the 1 from Ventura to Big Sur, to Santa Cruz. Beautiful country. Amazing.
I camped at that same spot at plaskett ridge! Such a nice spot. Especially when the clouds roll in and you are above an endless sea of rolling clouds.
