    Looking forward to all the content the 2024 season will bring. Tough to find the motivation to get going, at least it is for me, but it begins with one yard at a time.
    Post Script: I am actually considering doing my dissertation on the monetary benefit of using a fall and spring pre-emergent herbicide to control weeds (businesses and residential properties in my region have lawn service every two weeks, year round, even when the grass is dormant). The results I get in my Bermuda lawns is fantastic and I know others probably have the same experiences. I haven't worked out exactly what my thesis or research questions will be, I am only entering my second semester of my doctorate courses, and I have another 12 months before it has to be figured out.

    I jumped the gun on a small amount of my overseeding tttf this year. Luckily I only seeded roughly 2500 Sq ft. I thought the excessive high temps were done, in zone 6, but, we got a week or two of very hot, 100F , and very dry. And, I was trying to keep my fescue seed wet/damp. I do have some germination, but, not as much as I should. I may have to redo this area. Reseed the reseed. Arrgh. Thanks, John

    Nufarm has a new Poa Management product called Velocity PM which is labeled for residential lawns. If you can get a sample from your nufarm contacts then it would be great to see your thoughts as a video in early summer. The product label says use on Tall Fescue when air temperatures are between 60 and 90F and turf is completely out of dormancy.

    Thanks for going over the triple threat plus cultivars. I did a renovation last year with it. I got 8 lbs from last year to fix some problem spots from summer. The spots that don't need seed are looking wonderful. I have some of the gci tttf blend with mountain view cultivars. I plan to mix it in a section of my yard with triple threat plus to see if they look good together.

    100% agree that Triple Threat is slow as molasses to really take off in growth. I can get germination in mid September in 4 days but between weeks 3-6, it stalls in all my lawns. About the time I ‘give up’ it literally takes off again. Triple Threat is aggravating because customers want that ‘Amazon 2-day shipping’ type growth and you will not get it with it!

    Good to see you back. I have a question. Last year I burned off my entire yard, put down Tenacity at time of seeding (mid-October), then in late November I had mad, mad poa annua. It was everywhere. I assume my Tenacity protection wore off after a month or so, and I didn't put down anything further and it didn't die off until late spring. My question is, this year I only overseeded (except for 2 small areas that I burned off some K31 that somehow was still hanging on or maybe I didn't get it all last year on my attempt to kill it all and start over) but did put Tenacity down at time of seeding on Sept. 29th. My Tenacity protection is wearing off soon, so to prevent poa should I put down more Tenacity or should I possibly use ethofumesate? I have Tenacity, but would need to buy some etho. I also wondered if both would stress my new, baby grass. So put down tenacity and/or etho or not? I'm torn. I'd appreciate a response from anyone who has any ideas. I really hate the thought of poa, but also don't want to stunt my new grass. Thanks.

    Wont liquid fert just feed the existing grass which you dont exactly want it competing against your new seed as it is?

  • @ZoysiaRUs
    @ZoysiaRUs 11 месяцев назад

    I appreciate the info!
    It seems like traditionally people would run a granular at 0.75-1 lb P per 1000sf. However the liquid rates you’re running are closer to 0.05 lb P. The same could be said about N rates throughout the year with liquid vs granular. That’s a big difference in product rates of liquid vs granular.
    So what’s your thoughts on why that is? Seems like a huge waste on the granular side, money and environmental impacts. Some of the liquids I’ve used from harrells do incorporate a slow release component to them.
