- I did a horrible job of filming this; shaking the camera, moving around too much; I get that; watch it for what it is: a video that shows the large 200 yard long ice jam on January 12, 2018 on the right fork of the Holly River at Robinson Run in Braxton County, WV. The jam broke up 3 different times. You might also enjoy: • New River Gorge Nation...
I live in Australia and have never seen anything like this. Truly amazing to see.
Thanks for sharing this interesting video! I especially enjoyed seeing the small chunks of ice skimming beneath the larger sheets of ice.
Absolutely BEAUTIFUL. Thank You for filming this for us to watch. Gorgeous country. 🍃🌎🕊
I love all the ungrateful chair pirates.
Totally agree with your sentiments in the introduction. Better luck next year!
Beautiful scenery. Thank you for the fine and enjoyable moment.
Love anything that puts winter further behind us.
Beautiful exquisite scenery, as if I were there. Unpretentious and thoroughly enjoyable. Thank you!
Wow. An ice breakup happening in the middle of a small earth tremor.
Mount your monitor on a paint shaker to equalize it lol
Thanks for this! Spending my first winter in far northern Maine, and it'll be our turn for these shortly.
8:13 LOL @ the come along. Bridge engineering at its finest.
Nature in action. Don't see too much of this in south Florida but amazing to watch here.
Got a little bit dizzy with the camera bouncing all the time. Still - good video.
I agree. Made me feel.. wrong.. like I shouldn't be watching it.
Mixed with the way he walks the camera at nearly the same speed as the flow, paired with the white noise.
I swear this is MKultra level programming software
Awesome shots !
Yes it's shame it was so shaky because it really was very cool.
Looks like either a slow motion land slide, or super high speed glacier.
Just gotta work on that camera skills. But I’m sure it was a breathtaking.
Thank you for posting 😎
you did a great job of capturing this fascinating moment and narrating over it, thank you for taking the time to record this and share it with the world!
I remember this happening upstream from Bowden on the shavers one year when I was a kid.
wow, that is a lot of ice.
Ice jams are very common up North in the early spring. Sometimes they can cause severe flooding. One year around 30 years ago, they got a bad one in Montpelier, Vermont. I wasn’t there when it happened but I heard about it in the news.
Even in the irrigation canals, they finally drained the canals before winter so that it would not take out bridges! That was in the 70’s
Shame about the cameraman's Parkinson's
Great timing
Good vid Thanks for sharing!
Never underestimate the power of water wow incredible power wow
Looks like almost heaven....
Awesome to watch!
Looks like pretty country
first time I see that. merci 🙏🏻
Definitely the right time and right place.
You were definitely in the right place at the right time!
Ice jams used to happen on Snake River below Idaho Falls.
Not anymore tho...right?
Reminds me of the traffic around Altanta GA
I can't imagine it being so cold that a river freezes up!😬
Would love to visit it wouldn't want to live there!
Having said that people are afraid of snakes and spiders in my country, so I can't talk I guess 😁
I'm from lewis county where is Robinson run in Braxton co I've never heard of it.
on Rt. 15, Elk R. public hunting area
It must be a scary time to be a fish in that river.
I'm surprised you didn't call this one in because that amount of ice had the potential to take out the bridge.
ty very much 😘
Very nice
How do you go fishing when the river is like this?
A. You don't. B. There are no fish in this river in any event.
With a backhoe?
As a Florida resident we NEVER see stuff like this! (but we see more lightning)
I live in Michigan on one of two big rivers and watching the ice coming out of Lake Huron and causing a jam up in the St Clair River is spectacular
You made me very nervous going out on the logging bridge and turning your back on the ice dam/jam. I was worried it would break loose and wash you away. That swinging bridge is so cool. Thankmyou for sharing. Marie
Brilliant
its amazing the force of nature
Does the jappen annually?, or is it a rare occurrance. Where I live we don't get freeze over at all.
Rare
Slow down. Hold the camera steady and don’t pan so fast & jerkily. You’ve spoiled what could have been a pretty good video.
did you bother to read the video description?
You're moaning at an amateur video of something they just happened to see stfu
Yeah
Anticipation
Cool video
when it is 30 degrees here we freak out..........
In some areas these are the biggest deer killers, when they pour into small river isles, they cant run away, and the ice insures their legs www.erdekesvilag.hu/wp-content/uploads/2017/02/tisza-jeges-ar-3.jpg
partly frightening as it may heave up at ant time and come for you brave lad i think.
Cool but I’m dizzy now
@websterhighlanders yt algorithm is really hung up on these. I've gotten 30,000 views on a vid i totally forgot about from a year ago. But your video is way more worthy of the veiw's!💪
faire un bon vidéo ca veut dire aussi stabilité de l'image.
2018 and you did not use steady cam or once loaded in your computer run it through steady cam. Please use steady cam. You will enjoy your videos much more and so will we.
see video description; one of the worst videos on my channel but it has the most views by tenfold of any other video; go figure; if you would see the result of the anti-shake filter on this video from my Corel editing program, people would really be bitching
2020 and you did not use your mouse to load a different video instead of bitching. Please use your brain. You will enjoy RUclips much more and so will we.
Natures traffic jam
looks like a great stream for fly fishin' during the season...!!!
все эти пейзажи напоминают игру фар край
A steady hand would nice.
Easy to criticize sitting at a desk. Your filming was fine as was the nature show! :)
If you are a fish, what do you do?
Frozen on top not frozen underneath
Get ready to reproduce, spawning season begins
I really can't complain about the camera, it's a big ass ice jam; you don't need a steady hand to see it. Considering the average age demographic of the people watching and complaining... Are you really at a place to judge? Lord knows some of y'all would listen to your Buick's navigation system and end up turned into an ice cube going on a bridge downstream of an ice jam like this 😒
i bet there is some great trout fishing in that stream
Otters primarily and fishermen secondarily have totally decimated this river and it is wholly devoid of any fish.
Nature
Quite amazing
A M A Z I NG
Nature isn’t it amazing
I bet there are some great deer hunting in your area.
plenty of deer to harvest, just don't expect any trophies; the county where this was filmed regularly ends up in the top 10 percent of counties in the state for kill numbers
Blair witch project
Hold the damned camera still!
Read the damned video description.
@@WebsterHighlanders Who is ever going to bother reading your description. I think your were ✊🏻🍆💦 while you made this video.
Feel like I’ve got travel sickness 🤮
Leave the poor man alone. So what its shaky? Deal with it lol.
As soon as the ice start moving, you guys filming it should stand still, and not also start moving or walking. If you stand still we the viewers will be able to see much better. So please, guys....curb your excitement and stand still while filming moving ice. Many more people will then watch your videos!! Thanks
Plus the sound of ice chunks this size is pretty amazing. Had this happen growing up and my family said it sounded like a nonstop car accident going on for minutes at a time. Power of water have never ceased to amaze me
no comment ..!!!
Maravilhoso
PUSHED under. Sucking has nothing to do with it.
Mensch Ami Fresse halten, Kamera ruhiger halten!
like another comment, i messed this up by not keeping the camera still to better see the ice flowing, sorry
@@WebsterHighlanders He called you a mensch friend.
