  • In this video, we unravel the various types of leaves commonly observed in Indian companies and discuss the pertinent laws that regulate employee leave policies.
    Types of Leaves:
    Earned Leave: Earned in previous year and enjoyed in current year.
    Casual Leave: Brief, unplanned absences often for personal reasons.
    Sick Leave: Absences due to illness or medical reasons.
    Maternity/Paternity Leave: Granted to expectant parents for the birth or adoption of a child.
    Public Holidays: Specific days recognized by the government for which employees are entitled to leave.
    Other Leaves : Bereavement Leave, Compensatory Off, Special Leaves etc.
    Applicable Laws:
    The Factories Act, 1948: Governs leave provisions for workers in manufacturing establishments.
    Shops and Establishments Act: Varies by state and regulates leave entitlements for employees in shops and establishments.
    The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961: Mandates maternity leave and related benefits for female employees.
    The Employees' State Insurance Act, 1948: Covers sick leave benefits for employees covered under this scheme.

    Hi, If there is US MNC in India Bangalore, the HR says that the company policy is not to pay for earned leave is it possible that a company can have this policy?

    Can a company refuse to grant any leave? I mean what if a company wants to give 6 leaves in an year?

    I put 8 days of leave and I informed to my manager through mail will they terminate me from the company
