      Kudos for the video content! Forgive me for the intrusion, I would love your initial thoughts. Have you thought about - Piyiley Remarkable Prevalence (should be on google have a look)? It is a good one of a kind product for getting the ultimate success in your life without the hard work. Ive heard some interesting things about it and my best friend Jordan at very last got cool success with it.

    Very interesting video. From the books I've read by Seth Godin (Linchpin and Tribes), my first impressions weren't that great, in fact, I got the perspective that he was writing them to make money and not to entertain and teach. After watching your review of this book, my perspective of him has changed, and now I'm ready to read some more by him. Thanks :)

    Citing Jack Welch and GE as an example? [1:05] - you have to be kidding. Jack Welch built GE on 260+ acquisitions - stripping out to assets and over-funding pension plans and getting rid of the employees - hence - "Neutron Jack" was his nickname - essentially a financial house of cards, as investors have now found out.

    • @ryerye9019
      @ryerye9019 5 лет назад +3

      Agreed. GE was a terrible example. In postmortem, GE quit in many areas where it could have remained competitive to the frustration of its former employees, who now work for their rivals.

    It's an interesting idea, and always wise to think ahead, even when it's about quitting. But I think that personally, if I were to write down these circumstances under which to quit, I would focus on them too much.

    Hi. There's a better book about what to do, I'd love to recommend. It's a deeper version of your favorite books on mastery and what to make of one's life:
    Discernment of Spirits
    by St. Ignatius of Loyola
    In here is Steve Jobs' technique (on performing at your peak by considering everyday as your last- is also connected to his morning ritual (mine is daily mass, daily hour) explored in a deeper sense.

    TLDR: Define what constitutes failure before you begin, so you'll know when you've failed.
    In practice, this is impossible advice to follow for new markets.

      Not failure, but “predefined quitting conditions”. The book of course goes into more detail and explains more clearly. All the best

      That's the trouble with business gurus. They speak in marketing bullshit euphemisms. Which once decoded are platitudes, or falsehoods, or meaningless, or just inapplicable.
      Gee, it's almost like you don't _want_ us to know you've got nothing useful to say.

    i have watched the book summary on another channel, ruclips.net/video/yvM7_qlSOK8/видео.html, the concept of dip he presented is : never to quit, 90 per cent don't persevere when the face a dip in their career , so in order to be successful , one must never quit at the dip. but the concept of quitting contract you presented is completely different. what is the actual theory of the dip presented in the book ?

    I love Seth, but I don't agree with some of this. If you can be #1, quit?! So Pepsi should quit? All the car companies in the world that aren't #1 should quit? This is a bit too black and white. You could be very happy and successful being the 3rd richest billionaire in the world lol

  • @danf4447
    @danf4447 Год назад

    this guy has clearly never been in sales. usually if you are in the top 3, you get rewarded by the next year having your quota substantially increased, while having your territory cut significantly. This is so well known most salesmen have a name for it. YOu can be the hero for one year then pay the price, or be a reliable middle of the pack guy for years on end and survive. So in one readily apparent situation being the best is a fools errand and will not reward the effort.

    he is radically confusing the most well known with the best. "who is best known fast food "? Mcdonalds. Who makes the best burger you ever had...?? maybe 1/500 would say mcdonalds. Is your favorite coffee shop starbucks? no? me neither!!! so his point is moot as he confuses well known with well liked or objectively best. Best known mexican food.Easy Taco Bell. Where do you go when you want good mexican food? ANYWHERE BUT TACO BELL. a ridiculous premise at best!
