Such a nice channel! It looks like you quit it, but I just wanted to say it was really nice. Not many channels reviewing budget lenses and equipment like this one (they mostly do with very expensive gear we cant afford) so kudos!

Hi Christopher. First of all the Rokinon lens at T2.8 has more background blur because it is probably actually f/2.5 or something like that. That's because the T is a light messure, no apperture.
And second... I'm still waiting that comparison between the 3 sirui lenses and the sigma 18-35, I think that would be very interesting cuz the sirui lenses match the sigma horizontal field of view (18-26-37.5).

I'm not sure that such a small aperture change would account for so much blur. But i suppose it's possible.
@@ChristopherBurress It wasn't that much actually. Besides, when you compare it with a spherical 24 the spherical seems to have a bit more blur because the oval shape of the anamorphic, because it (the oval bokeh) has (or should) the same vertical length but it is horizontally compressed. The real magic happens when you compare it with an 18mm which has the same horizontal field of view but less background blur because of the focal length. So please make that comparison video with the Sigma 18-35 😢🙏🏼

These lenses are a GODSEND for people who are into anamorphic shooting.
I shoot almost exclusively with the 50mm and 35mm, and should be receiving the 24mm any day now.
I love how technically disruptive they are, and I can't wait for the rumored 85mm version!

Doing other things. Had a stressful job for about 5 years, lost momentum with videos towards the end. Tried to get going again but couldn't muscle past the "8 hours of production for 1.5k views" that the channel had deteriorated to. Enjoying my current job and going back to school to get my degree for future endeavors. Also playing a lot of apex legends lol.

this footage does not look good. other than the horizontal flares this lens doesnt even look like anamorphic.
It is only 1.3x which is pretty typical for it to be a subtle effect.
