But this is shot in Canada. They have a refresh rate of 60Hz on all electrical items. Using PAL there wouldn't be right. NTSC is correct for Canada. Flicker on car lights is something different as they operate on their own frequency as the power comes from car alternator. This is likely to change due to different manufacturing specifications.

Can you explain the 1.25 x crop. Does that mean you are cropping into the BMPCC4K sensor? Does it mean that you are changing the focal length by 50 x 1.25. I understand that the lens was designed for an APS-c sensor but then they put a Micro 3/4 mount on it and I am trying to understand exactly how that affect the lens performance in comparison to how it would perform on an APC-c mount.
I'm so glad the video is actually 21:9! You have no idea how annoying it is to watch a RUclips video with black bars baked into the top and bottom of the frame on an ultrawide monitor
call me a loser for thinking the same but if i'm gonna try to take a review seriously i'd like for them to showcase things without rolling shutter/flicker lol
This is awesome man! I agree with some of the flicker comments, but don't sweat it dude, it happens - just check with your camera op so there's no flicker. That's it! I know it takes a lot to make these videos. Keep killing it!
Im using a Sony a6100 and I bought this lens came in yesterday I have a hard time using it and figuring out how to use it, do you maybe know any budget monitors that have d squeeze for Sony a6100? I just need help on how to use it, can you make in debth video on how to use it??
Really cool video, although you could have colored the BMPCC footage a bit better, it looks way too flat and RUclips compression really hates flat footage.. Do you happen to have some way to share some less compressed footage?
The Flickering bothered me too ... BUT ... Thing with does guys is: They got a good eye ... they might not care for flickering or rolling shutter yet or they forgot to take care about it because they haven't found their perfect workflow for tech (again: yet). But when they get a bit older and more "pro" and start caring for those "details", they got a huge advantage before every pure-tech-do-it-right-guy: a good eye + knowing how to get good results with rather low budget gear. knowing how to be good with lowgrade gear and then beeing given or getting really good stuff ... man ... the sky is the limit, haha. keep it up guys, fix some issues that make you look less pro, than you already are and you are set!
1.9 x 50 = 95 / 1.33= 71.43mm now they have a 24mm and 35mm in a few different mount styles. And you can use some wide angle adapters and/or diopters to adjust for minimum focal length. Steven soderbergh new release no sudden move has some anamorphic shots on a 40mm lens with an adapter on it to get a 30mm equivalent on a red camera in some really tight spots. The bmpcc4k with BRAW and the suiri lens might be an affordable kit to own.
Hey, nice vid. Just a quick question about how you mount the lens to the camera. did you use an adaper? Witch mount does the camera has and witch does the lens has?
You forgot to mention the 50mm makes your footage shake even with gimbal... Best to use a dolly or z axis stabiliser with your gimbal to do tracking shots...
oh, man. Kelowna looks like THAT in the winter time? should I move to Kelowna? I mean, I like the potential client base in the Greater Toronto Area but DANG the Okanagan area looks GOOD!!!
@@ОлексійШликов Wouldn't it be like a 95mm lens because of the 1.9 crop? Then like a 72mm on the horizontal axis only because of the 1.33 squeeze? Your vertical shot framing should still be like a 95 mm lens.
@@herranton Horizontally, the coverage angle will be approximately 72mm (FF equivalent), and the height will simply be an aspect ratio of 2.40: 1. But if you use the Panasonic GH5, it will be 72mm horizontally and vertically, since there is an Open Gate and the aspect ratio of the frame will be 16: 9
@@herranton This is not entirely true, the GH5 can shoot using the full sensor area (4: 3 as in photo mode), and the height of the sensor in the GH5 is approximately equal to the height of the super 35 sensor in a 16: 9 frame ratio. But to be precise, the final angle will be 75mm (FF equivalent)
It looks great. I know people think of lens flares as cinematic. But, are they? Really? Roger Deakins, the world renown cinematographer for "Blade Runner: 2049", "1917" and many other big films says that he actually does not like lens flares. He says they just remind him he's watching a movie. Taking him out of the moment of the film's story. So, there's that. I do like Anamorphic though. I recently got the Metabones EF mount adaptor made for the BMPCC4K. So, if they do come out with an EF mount version of the SIRUI lens, it will translate to a 67.5mm lens when attached. Which, to me, is a focal length that is more useful in most filming situations.)*
VFX Todd Sirui is planning on a 35mmm lens which makes more sense for that cropfactor on an mft camera. But it will take a while...meanwhile the 50mm will do a good job to make some cash for the company. Btw. the lens-flare is so much overrated... I didn't like it...
