Thanks for the upload I can easily follow your thought about the sun and that blue flare is not quite right... but the sun is not yellow, but white and therefore all colors are in principle represented, as when we see the light refracted through a prism. We are simply brought up with symbolic thinking when it comes to our expectation of what color things have. A tree is brown, water is blue. This symbolism goes on again when we make color grade...
I ended up getting a similar set up. I got the Saturn with neutral flares, and the 75mm. I felt the 75 had more of that cool background bokeh and was further away from the 35mm. Loving your channel bro keep it up!
Hey Kofi...love the way you review...clear and to the point. I own all of them except the 100mm and like all the qualities they bring. I cancelled my Atlas Mercury order for several reasons. So happy with this set.
WOW I did not expect that image quality for a lenses thats currently going for 499. MAINY! great video and breakdown, I'm going to have to watch this again later to understand the desqueeze lol.
Great information! I do have the Sirui 50mm Venus, not as in love with the saturation of blue flare. Wondering If you are going to do a video on the Blazar Remus Anamorphics, I see they do offer "silver" flares in their line.
Yeah I really like these Sirui lenses, I have the 50, 75, and 135 (which is a 1.8x squeeze oddly enough) and what I really like about the image off of these lenses are the distortion you get. It's subtle but it's really nice and to me it just shouts, "anamorphic!" Add on a black mist filter and there's really nothing else you'd need. I shoot anamorphic on my S5, and yeah I just use de-squeeze of 1.5 on the display (and the same on my monitor) it's good enough (yeah not 100%) to get composition right.
The 'blue' is the colour of the lens coating.. blue is very common in more expensive cinema lenses. One doesn't get much choice in colour... I've seen green coatings before but these (IMHO) don't look as good as blue. The blue coating really shouldn't make much difference to your buying decision.. and if it does, you're probably not wanting an anamorphic lens!
@@KofiYeboah I don't either haha. This preorder wait time has been a blessing for giving me a chance to budget and save everywhere I can for when they actually drop
Future video idea: In-depth prime "photo" lens selection for FX6 full frame, for those just getting into cinema cameras. I have the following lenses, all tailored to low light shooting... -Sony FE 35mm 1.8 -Sony FE 85mm 1.8 -Sony G 20mm 1.8 -Laowa Argus 35mm 0.95 -Laowa Argus 45mm 0.95 I have geared rubber bands from Smallrig affixed to all of them for a cine adaptation without the cine lens price. I often wonder what lenses outside of that fairly standard focal range (20-85mm) and low light ability (0.95-1.8) are worth investing in, and if going exclusively the cine lens route is worth the investment over these strong performers with the gear ring attached. I also have no zoom lenses to my name, as the low light zooms tend to max at 2.8 and cost about $3k. Is f2.8 or f4 good enough on these modern low light cameras. Questions like that could be answered for a future video about lens selection for the FX6.
@Kofi Yeboah I'm still interested in your own experience and really even speculation on your part would be more informed than my own speculation in that regard. As a working professional, your views on focal length and aperture are not limited to what you own, but more what you know applies in the real world. For example, f4 is too limited even on the Fx6, or that nobody needs a 9mm lens or a 130+mm lens, etc. Essentially, every great lens reviewer seems to care more about still shots of brick walls and absolute perfection, whereas you are doing stuff that I find more applicable to real video work and not dependent upon clinical "stills" perfection of the optics.

Thanks homie !
I can't understand why the SONY FX6 didn't receive a new firmware with the anamorphic de-squeeze yet, like the Sony FX3 & FX30 .... Any news on that?
Your guess is as good as mine

Ayyy ! Glad you’re enjoying it
1.6x de-squeeze is on the Atomos Ninja V with my AtomOS11 upgrade (base OS upgrade is free, OS11 Feature Pack brings new features for a fee).
This videos a little dated 👍🏾

I’m hoping we get a true and effective anamorphic support for Sony one day 😅
Is the large minimal distance and issue on either the 35 or 50mm versions?
Thank u sooo much this is one of the best videos ive seen on this topic the way u just took your time to explain everything to your viewers thank u.!!
Hey glad you liked it 😁😁 appreciate it
How do you stabilize anamorphic footage , especially jitters
a gimbal?
Really enjoyed your thorough review! Will check if you reviewed their 35mm anamorphic.
Check it out !
Is there a way to reduce the crazy flaring or at least make it not blue
Not that I’m aware of
Entertaining and educational! Love your vids man, keep it up.
Appreciate it!
Trying my best 🙏🏾
You might want to OPT for diOPTers.
Lmao 🤣
Hey bro, im new with the camera stuff, does this lens fit with my Canon 200d ?
If there’s an ef mount version , otherwise no

Sirui , Laowa and Blazar, also has a silver flare, which I prefer, so idk how that holds up 😅
Thanks for sharing! Did any of the diopter adapters used have a 82 mm front filter thread again so I could attach another VND?
I couldn’t find one :(
The Firmware V3 for FX3 has anamorphic desqueeze in it btw bud. Did they not bring it to the FX30?
Check my video on it ! It’s only 1.33x and 2x and it just gives a desqueezed preview, the footage is still stretched in post
Waiting patiently for my two Atlas Mercury lens 🥺

with lens work for Panasonic GH5s? Great video and thanks in advance
It should if you have an adapter to full frame, if not, might look at the super 35 versions and adapt to that
Do you think the 50mm is wide enough for sat landscape shots?
