And you know range can be such a wide array things in voice acting too! It can be your pacing, tone, diction, etc. so it becomes almost more about the delivery than it does just the pitch of the va :)
@@shadowproductions969 but unlike Patrick who just does his own voice over and over with minimal changes Kevin basically just voices the same character aka batman and his voice is iconic as the bat like mark Hamill as the joker or David hayter as snake in metal gear.
Patrick wharburton is such an interesting voice actor Instead of having a voice for every character, he has one voice that he uses for every character. But for some reason it works Like he can be kronk, and you hear him and know its kronk But then he can be joe, and you hear him and know its joe. *Even though it's the same voice*
Characters in order of their appearance: 1. Octopus Joe 2. Snail Joe 3. Duck Joe 4. Douchebag CEO Joe 5. Buffalo Joe 6. Orc Joe 7. Corporate Joes 8. Pig Joe 9. Fedora Joe/1940s Cop Joe
Jon Benjamin reuses one voice often, that's his sidearm. but he has a ton more in his back pocket. A lot of people don't even know he was Jason, they were so focused on McGuirk. Bob's Burgers gives him the most chances to show that range, with Miss LaBonz, Jimmy Jr, Peter Pescadero... like yeah Speedo Guy sounds like Bob, and Peter sounds like a high-pitched Bob, but it still counts as a range. And like, his original Kuchi Kopi voice was clearly meant to sound like Bob talking to himself, but in Louise's fever dream, he sounded pretty distinct. Almost went in a Strong Sad direction.
I think he offered some interesting variety, despite his caveats to the contrary. Plus he really looked at and thought about the characters. The last pic is really fully in his wheelhouse when I think of his voice. He could do a very good dated tough guy or pulp fiction detective. Gosh, I would scream with joy if he and John Mulaney did some Hammett or Chandler. Can you imagine???!!! Bliss.
I actually really respect that he's honest in acknowledging the fact that his characters don't have a lot of range in terms of vocal differences. I do love the characters that he voices though because he has a great voice for the characters he portrays. (The business man and the troll were fantastic though)
Respect for the effort, I was actually impressed! Would have been funnier though if he just did Joe's voice 10 times, and made like it was a great fit for each.
James Docherty I tried it and I still couldn’t hear Mr. Krabs. Maybe it’s because I don’t watch the newer episodes of Spongebob, which in my opinion aren’t really that good. I’ve tried to watch some of them and they were just dreadful. Spongebob was fine the way it was.
Ahaha, this is actually brilliant! I like how range is being tested, but Patrick Warburton's characters are more iconic because of (and more differentiated by) mannerism than by voice. Most people sound the same doing Kronk vs Joe, but I feel like you could immediately identify who Patrick's actually performing based entirely on where the character's brain is.
This was still interesting to watch because Patrick's characters may have similar voices, but have different emotions, mannerisms, and tone! I think he just focuses more on acting the characters rather than varying their voices.
I feel like we really got to see him shine here. In most voices he does with the TV shows and movies we are familiar with, you can tell it's ol' Patrick, and that's not me saying that's a bad thing, but with some of these voices in this video, it was hard to tell it was him, even watching him do the voices outright. It's just a mere example of his voice acting talent. "I'll sound like all the other characters I do." Patrick, you sir, have sold yourself too short.
Thank you Vanity Fair for giving attention to voice actors.

Exactly. He’s one of those actors who does one thing SO WELL that he doesn’t need much else to do because he’s so marketable for that ONE THING.

The snail is honestly my favourite. He fleshed it out just enough to be an actual supporting character you could've seen in Turbo.
what IS funny is that it's the same voice he uses on all his characters, with either a high pitch or low pitch 😂😂😂😭😂
He could literally just talk for all these voices and it’d fit
Strangely I think more of him as Lemony Snickett than any of his voice acting roles.
David P. He did amazing job with this series, i was satisfied with the ending and it was a fun ride
The magic of this man is not in his vocal range, but in his ability to augment his one voice to nearly any occasion. He truely is a gift to cinema.
